  1. Whats goin on! Took two deer this year from that blind! Best investment I ever made! Already got the spots ready to go for this spring turkey season and you can bet that I will either be tucked in the blind (great for the kids by the way) or full camo...saw tons of activity this year so hopefully they will still be around.....going to take the boys to do a little rabbit hunting and some quail nxt wknd....I'm starting to get stir crazy with deer season gone! Hope all is well with you!
  2. Thanks a bunch....good info there..good luck with yours!

    New Glock 27 Owner!

congrats!...I use mine as my primary carry...love it! And, as was mentioned before....get you an extension for a mag to see if you like it...I have Pierce +1 on mine and they fit my paws nicely.....now practice, practice, practice!
  4. Jeff has done some work for me as well...great guy. Also, I have a G27 that I am going to have him remove some truglo tfo's and put some meps on....what did it set you back to have the work done and did you have the sights already or did you get them from him?
  5. Wanting to tap into the expertise on the forum here.... I was noticing last fall some areas that I had scouted had plenty of deer and as the season approached...all I saw was about 4 coyotes..... Also, another property where I had taken my doe and my brother-in-law bagged his 10 point was covered with deer...the last couple of weeks of the season...nothing. I noticed on my final opportunity to hunt the property, after a long cold morning of nothing...a couple HUGE coyotes wandering the treelines... So, the question is....when I see yotes should I not expect to see any whitetails?
  6. Thanks for the info...I'm going there tomorrow to pick up some paint....I'll see what they have!
  7. Congrats on the new handgun....you should love it! Practice often and good luck in the class!
  8. Different sites will lead to different conclusions based upon the topography of the areas. Some are more suited for brush (30-30 or .35 rem)...some for greater distances and more open (30-06 0r 7mm). The results will vary. Around here, I think most shots are taken inside of 75 yrds...a few are longer than that. I use a .270win...for me it will serve both and I appreciate the less recoil...makes for better shots when not anticipating the kick to get your attention.
  9. Anyone familiar with any potential job opportunities in the Davidson, Sumner or Wilson county areas that may be out there? Inside scoop is always better than running through the classifieds! Been selling Real Estate for around 3 years and it has been good, but a baby on the way calls for the need of something a little more stable....let me know if anything is stirring...pm's are fine! Thanks guys....
  10. I had one on my G27 for a while...I like it but it really wasn't for me. As far as the +'s....easy to adjust, ergo was comfortable, worked in the holster I carry (serpa)...as far as -'s....didn't like the fact that it required a change in grip pressure to turn off, change in the poi with distance (was either r or l) if different than adjusted. Lasermax is making one for the Glocks with an on/off switch on the back of the grip and the position of the housing allows you to chamber a round easier with the slide, the ct was in the way for me and I needed to grip the front of the slide to chamber....fwiw
  11. I especially like this part.... "Photos that the Livestock Department took during its investigation showed the dark brown and black llama gutted and lying in the back of a red pickup truck. The photos included a shot of Saunders' notched 2008 elk tag, dated Nov. 18. " Poor guy went ahead and gutted it and threw her in the truck...tagged it even...with an Elk tag!
  12. Travel costs from New York to Montana: $1500. Buying the latest, greatest hunting gear: $1000. Bagging a trophy elk, then making the news because you actually shot a llama . . .Priceless http://www.billingsgazette.net/articles/2009/01/15/news/state/55-llama.txt
  13. I appreciate that....I will try the tile co first (in the Real Estate business) and see what I can find there...will get back to you or...if you find some first, let me know...
  14. Gotcha....any thoughts as to where this slate can be picked up? I appreciate the input...this should be a pretty cool little project.....now, where did I put that turtle shell ????????????????
  15. Thanks for the info! I have never Turkey Hunted but will this Spring. The land I deer hunt on is covered with them...I know....they will dissapear when the season starts and the deer will be plentiful...exact opposite of the last 7 wks! But, I am looking forward to it. Any tactical advice or methods or other types of calls anyone is familiar with, just jump in.....any and all input is appreciated!
  16. Depends on the price! I had one for a while...very accurate....no FTF....night sights...all in all a nice weapon. But, I have big paws and the larger back-strap insert was not flush w/ the remainder of the grip....really got on my nerves. I wouldn't buy new unless I had rented one and fired multiple rounds downrange to get the feel and was VERY confident that I would have it for a LONG time...JMO....As for me, I traded it for a Glock 27....couldn't be happier...good luck!
  17. Anyone ever made their own turkey call? Found some info on the web but some of the links on NWTF were disabled....any info and/ or pics are much appreciated...thanks
  18. Got a good doe on Tuesday and went back out on Thursday and nothing....actually scouted some land I have access to but haven't hunted yet this year...spooked up another doe (this was on the 2nd)...other than that, I have seen little if any movement over the past weekend. Hopefully with the front moving through and the drop in the temps...the last week to stock the freezer will be good.....good luck to all!
  19. Took a doe on Tues Morn...it was looking into the woods for the buck and was walking right into me. I wanted the buck but they were so close that I was about to spook it and then have nothing...went back out yesterday and saw nothing...1st time for that to happen on the property that I am hunting this year. Guess I'll give it another shot next week with the front movement to try and bag him before its all over for the year.
  20. 90 days to the day for mine....they must have "streamlined" the system! Anyway...congrats! I agree with the other post...the paranoia wears off and it become second nature...like picking up your wallet and keys....be safe!
  21. Put me in for a couple at least!
  22. Congratulations...now be ready to notice EVERYTHING about EVERYONE, WHEREVER you are....you will become more aware of your surroundings without even realizing it!

    Cool photo

Great Shot...it was beautiful last night!
  24. Have a G27, same frame as the G26, had CTG on it for a while, really like them, ergonomically - they really fit the frame nicely. They can be found for around $140 on the GT forum and ebay quite regurlarly. Also, got to the Lasermax website...they have grips now! No reviews as of yet, on/off switch, appear to be really nice.
  25. Tungsten...pm me...my wife is with corporate recruiting for a LARGE Hospital Corporation. I know they have a major undertaking to centralize med records and have been aggressively hiring in that department. You might want to check their website (I'll send it to you pm if interested)...if nothing there, I can give her a call and see if there is anything in the works.
