Unholstering your weapon

I think you're misunderstanding me. If you go to draw and the guy drops to the ground and surrenders as you're clearing leather are you saying I should still shoot him? Me thinks not. Just because you draw does NOT mean you have to fire. I can send you some cases to read over that support that. One here in Memphis where a HCP holder stopped a crazy man with a knife in a Schnuck's. If you draw, but don't fire you call 911 and report it same as if you fired. He who calls first is the victim. The cops will sort it out and I guarantee the conflicting stories of a permit holder and a (most likely) criminal with a prior history will not be too hard to sift through. -
I love ya buddy, but I can't believe you went in there expecting a big plot. I expected 1/3 Rambo 4 1/3 True Lies and 1/3 Transporter. I got exactly what I expected. As for Jet Li...he would've win.

I wanna know 2 things myself. 1. Does dmayes2 have proper training and if so what dumbass taught him to carry like that. 2. Has he ever been in a defensive situation or an even remotely stressful training environment and been able to bring the pistol into a fireable functon and get a round on target in less than 2 seconds. I doubt it.

Unholstering your weapon

It means don't unholster your weapon to threaten or scare someone. ONLY to neutralize a threat. If the threat is neutralized without firing a shot fine, but don't draw with only the intention of scaring someone because they may be more than willing to kill you. It doesn't mean leave your gun in it's holster until the end of time. Lord help us. -
I saw it today for the 2nd time. It's definitely a great movie. I kinda wish it was a bit longer so that some of the other characters could have had more screen time, but I think Stallone did a really good job making this an action movie lover's fantasy film.

Maybe we need to go with 323 man lol

Hey no joking man you can beat some serious ass with a cane. Crazy as this sounds I took Bo Staff in Tae-Kwon-Do for about two years. About 3 months in I asked my instructor what good Bo was for besides competition. He walked over to the closet, got a broom, snapped the end off and proceeded to do the most insane beating on a practice dummy I've ever witnessed. Changed my perspective on what can become a weapon lol

Even though I wouldn't carry any type of club off duty, I do sometimes wish we just a Weapons Carry Permit like a few other states. I think KY covers batons, handguns, etc all in one bundle.

OK. I'm here. DanE, you're good to go on a Non-resident permit! http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/tennessee.pdf

That's because his expired and TGO David has been out of town and he has to personally activate mail renewals. And seriously...I like ya bro, but there are more important things to worry about than post count.

Yes, but one is a state issued license while the other is a card/certificate signed by a trainer. I get your point, but my point has always been that some cops, lawyers, and apparently even the AG do not view it as the same. I carry mine to and from work and at work. I could care less about carrying it around anywhere else. I'm using either my fists or my gun. I'm not stopping at a 21" stick on my way up the force continuum unless I'm on duty. Anyway I don't want to re-open the old debate, just wanted to let Ebow know there is a difference of opinion in the legal world about them.

There was a long thread about this back in the day that caused some civil unrest and Fallguy actually managed to get the AG to issue his opinion on it. While yes you can get certified to carry one and yes instructors on here will train you, the AG stated that the certification was not the same as having a handgun permit and that the certification was simply a defense to carrying the baton and not an actual license to do so. Now, for my personal opinion, I carry an ASP every night at work and I have used it ONCE in 3 years. Most of my buddies in security and on PD rarely use theirs. It's a handy tool, but it also takes more than a 4 hour training course to use proficiently. IMHO if you want something for self-defense you're better off carrying either mace or a gun. Don't middle ground it. Carrying a baton around is just asking for a lawsuit and criminal charges to me.

I like that! Anyway I put the Frequently, but not always. Even though I may not always be wearing it it's not far. My house very much lives up to my screen name. If you've seen the Thomas Jane movie you'll get what I'm talking about. I don't have kids so I'm kinda lucky in how I can place my weaponry.

In your absence I have taken the mods hostage and haxored the servers. All threads have been strategically controlled and Salma Hayek's image inserted randomly throughout the forum by my minions. All your base are belong to us. You have no chance to survive make your time. HA HA HA HA HA.

Gotta go with Glock on this one. Nobody is forcing anyone to read or participate in a thread. If you don't like reading about certain things then, uhh...don't. Asking to ban certain topics of discussion is basically asking someone to keep you from your own curiosity.
