  1. Takes a big heart to do it for free!!!
  2. Congrats Robin. That's awesome.
  3. Keep busy, both mind and body. Hit the gym, walk, do crossword puzzles...Keep looking for your next purchase. Don't forget to consume enough alcohol to kill the bad germs. Yesterday and today, the wife and I shoveled, wheelbarrowed and spread 7 yds. of crush-n-run (driveway gravel). Now I feel old, but It is way, way better than the alternative.
  4. I'm at the bottom of page #1, I can't look anymore. I'm afraid, very afraid............. of catching the FEVER......
  5. Betcha not. Money talks and the 2A walks..... I honestly feel the way our government works, a constitutional convention would be a money pit that would continue for years and years. It would involve lawyers and we see how the SCOTUS and other supreme courts interpret things sometimes. The healthcare bill was 200+ pages, a new constitution would be 200,000+ pages. It's something I wouldn't want to see come about.
  6. I really got worried reading the first half of #11. 11. Once a week, blow compressed air up through your chimney making sure the wind carries ...... Thanks to all protecting our freedoms!!!
  7. There's Black Bear Cove Campground in Benton. We stayed there for a month before we closed on our house. Black Bear Cove Nice park close to the range in Cherokee Nat. Forest. It's about 10 miles away. If there's interest, I'll check on the range, make sure it's open etc.
  8. Are all over the counter ARs sporters, SAAMI chambered? Are some military chambered and head spaced so they can safely fire 5.56?
  9. Either or...
  10. Just seeing the penetration depth and shockwave pics shows me it wouldn't be fun to get hit by any one of them.
  11. Me too... Last rider I'll ever have to buy.. John Deere x500. I feel like Tim Taylor on it.
  12. Jon, They are dismantling and old Maytag plant on 20th between Old Tasso and Michigan Ave. May be some temp work there.
  13. I asked last time I was at Specialty Arms. The guy behind the counter told me that people were constantly trying holsters for fit with their weapons. Safety thing. Years ago, responded to a gunshot call at the local police equipment supplier, where an officer was buying a holster for a snubby. He had a wide trigger shoe, which caught the belt clip mount inside the holster firing the weapon, putting the round through the webbing 'tween the thumb and index finger. Very bloody but no major damage. UNLOAD AND UNLOAD AGAIN BEFORE messin' with your weapon.
  14. Kirby, Go here... http://www.rangeissafe.com/results/03202010/IDPA_03202010.htm you will find all scores.
  15. Were we to adopt a policy different from local laws allowing open carry, we would be forced to require our partners to ask law abiding customers to leave our stores, putting our partners in an unfair and potentially unsafe position. I like this line. Sounds like they understand legal and responcible carry is a deturrent to crime. But, if they start to get to much heat from the media and anti gun groups they may just decide to post all their stores against open carry.
  16. Did you see Tom Hanks in Castaway???

Farman that is a pair I would put away,I see them on gunbroker and like most Colts they just increase in value. The box and papers make them worth a lot more kinda like a fine watch. I know how they have increased in value. I think I paid 275 for the 4" back in 1989. I wanted a snub, but they are going for upwards of 2k. I may have to use some tax refund moneyand invest it.

I have the box and papers for the 4". They've both been shot before I got them and a little since. I would put their condition at 97%

Here are my only Colts...for now anyway,
  21. .
  22. Raiders of the Lost Ark.
  23. Our full size SR9 had ftfs, ftes, failure to return to battery and was difficult to rack the slide. After about 300 rounds and at the range Sunday, not one problem and my wife can even rack the slide. Even the mag release works easier now. When it was new it was very difficult to release the mag. Grin and bear it until you get a few hundred rounds through it.
  24. I have and old Enfield that I'm not sure of it being safe to shoot also. It looks great hanging on the wall.
  25. Ooops, My reading comprehension was on vacation when I read this. The Captain is like most of us, or visa versa. I carry almost all time and no one knows. I like it that way. It was a good article and a bit of a surprise to see it in the "Tennessean"
