Colonial Pipeline pays hackers $4M-$5M to get pipeline back online:
Once the payment was made, in untraceable cryptocurrency, the hackers gave the pipeline operator a decrypting tool to restore the network, according to the Bloomberg report.

I'm also in agreement with this. I also think the minimum number of posts in other areas exclude the welcoming new members sub forum.

Pets are not supposed to be fads.
Reports of a troubling trend have begun to surface across the country of large numbers of people returning pets that they adopted during the pandemic. Apparently, as things begin to return to normal, people are realizing that they may not be as prepared for the pet as they thought they were.
Shelters across the United States are seeing higher than average rates of returns, the BBC reports. About a year ago, these same shelters saw a spike in adoptions as people faced lockdowns due to the pandemic.

Looks like you folks in Eastern Tn. may be having a few visitors before long.
As the summer of 2004 waned, so did the lifespan, just a few weeks long, of those adult cicadas, and the larvae of the next generation dropped back to the earth where they would spend the next 17 years.
This spring -- 17 years later -- those cicadas are part of Brood X (ominous as the "X" sounds, it stands for the Roman numeral ten) and for all that time they have been underground eating and growing.
Researchers aren't sure exactly how many will surface, except that it will be in the billions: They estimate the numbers will be at least 1.5 million per acre, which could mean as many as 30 of the creatures covering your average square foot.

I had a "be notified" request in at Midway for when they had some nickel plated 357 Starline brass come in. I check my e-mail when I get up and then again around 6-7. Notification came in at 11:00 am and it was, of course, gone by the time I checked my mail in the evening but at least they received some Starline. Maybe they are catching up.

Another shortage caused by Covid.
Over the past year, a combination of changing consumer needs and issues stemming from the pandemic has caused a variety of shortages. These supply issues have ranged from toilet paper to aluminum cans and even pepperoni.
Now, garden gnomes can be added to that list.
