You dont need to show the guys your DD-214, as far as your discharge since it was admin/medical it would be considered a General Under Honorable or even Honorable under the characterization. I hope they gave you the right diagnosis - I got command referred to speak with the shrinks when I left Group and PCSed to Campbell and they tried to say I was bipolar only to have the head psych say I had PTSD. Either way, whether or not they botched it, worsened it, misdiagnosed it or were right - unless a military judge or civlian judge ruled you are mentally insane (insanity is actually a judicial/legal thing - not medical) then you are fine. You can feel free to PM me since I am too familiar with BPD - I imagine as long as youre not hypermanic with delusional tendencies (which I doubt) youll be fine. I hate the stigma that behavioral disorders are given, dont let it get you down. Remember; you are not your illness. The Winter PT jackets are a joke. The older ones had that elastic band that rode up and made the jacket look like it has love handles The new black ones did away with the elastic and now flap up and let cold air in The pants are decently warm and comfortable - and dont have any Army markings on them thankfully. I have an ingrained disdain for Kimbers...I had 3 critical factory failures on my Desert Warrior and was met with sheer stupidity from Kimbers CS dept Granted - Im told they do make solid pieces now, just not worth it for the money. Ive tried carrying a 1911 before - I only have full sized ones now. I dont like it because of the safety digging into my kidneys. It does wear well being a single stack - but being slightly heavier than say a Glock get a good holster and a good gun belt. Different style of carry too if you carry with a hot tube (which you should). Many people debate whether to carry it with the safety on, hammer half cocked or full...many cite the palm safety eliminating the need for the thumb safety. End of the day practice drawing how you will carry - start with snap caps or primed brass, watched a dude shoot himself in the thigh holster drawing a 1911 in Pennsylvania. A mutual friend of mine who reloads a metric booty-tonne of calibers made a giant no-no and put the wrong powder hopper on his Dillon 650... It was supposed to be a 175gr SMK 308 with 41gr Varget. Instead it became 41gr Titegroup. Dont know how he did it, experienced reloader he either snorted half of Bolivia up his nose, buttchugged a gallon of shine or had brief retardation. The barrel is fine - his hands are banged up and his face looks like Perez Hilton made drunk love to it but the gun is obviously....not under warranty anymore. My main reason for wanting a 9mm carbine is to keep costs down. I ALMOST pulled the trigger on a Dillon 1050 - its 1700 with all the bells and whistles for 556 but the components are so much more expensive. Im leaning more towards AR9s now. I really hate the look of a pistol brace or the Blade, so Ill probably stick with 16" barrels. As far as Mag Blocks, which seem to be the most expensive thing - should I stick with PSA? Or go for a Hahn or RRA? I thought the CMMG was cost prohibitive but not so much looking at the cost of 2 Mag Blocks with 2 Anderson Lowers. Or is it better just to go for the fully assembled MOE lowers from PSA for $249 and call it a day? If I do an AR9 itll be on a PSA mag block using the SMG style mags. Rather keep it away from using my Glock mags. Excuse my ignorance but what is the thing behind ramped bolts or non ramped? And can I use regular buffers and lowers? I want to make one for myself and my wife - staying under $600 for both if possible. As far as the Zenith I think it would look super funky engraved for a Form 1 - Id stick with a pistol brace and using approved ATF shouldering (cheeking?) methods. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
