  1. Lol scam artists in 3...2...1 ETA: their attorney is a damn retard Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  2. When I visited family in Munich in 2010 it was already getting bad - Frankfurt and Berlin were much worse. Europe brought forth thier own destruction. Unless Germany parties like its 1938 and France and the UK follow suit it is too late. They are extremely enboldened now... Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  3. Gotta pull all that antiquated TDMA/CDMA nets in the ground ....granted most of the "good" Army tech is TDMA b/c why approve a 5000 man Task Force for FDMA that makes too much sense. Itll still be useful overseas. Im sure ISIS will have a GSM/TDMA buy back program paid in little martydom nubile slave boys Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  4. I actually sorta know how to delete shadow files.....on windows 7 [emoji107] lol Good to know certs arent viewed as some sort of dogmatic sage knowledge. Yet another person proving the Army Signals community is full of a bunch of nimrods... I was literally told by a Brigade S6 (the equivelent of a deputy CIO of a large corporation) that you cant even get $50K in the IT world without (and I quote) "A+, N+, S+, Server+, CCNA and MCSA"....... I am enrolling into APSU and finishing my BS online - also been talking to another online program for a MBA - at least to get general knowledge and perhaps specialized intel on it. And Google is the Oracle, thou shalt not bad mouth her...or something like that. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  5.   Will do Pete, I will definitely not miss that one.    Plus it'd be a good way to gauge early morning traffic from Clarksville to Nashville as well
  6. I probably wouldnt ever go for something so high level - Id rather be in a leadership role at that point and be able to keep the nerds honest, and keep the suits from freaking out Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  7. The dude in Cali who won was evidently already a multi millionaire but thats just Interwebz rumors. Hopefully our fellow TN resident is smart and is setting up a blind trust and LLC and an estate plan right now Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  8. What about magazine repair parts? Springs, followers, baseplates? When I put extensions on my Glocks I swap out springs and baseplates and keep em in a spares bucket. Same for AR15 followers and springs, usually the USGI mags fail when you toss em on the ground or step on em - but the springs/followers are usually in good shape. Hell same goes for RSAs, bolt gas rings, extractor springs, extra pins and springs for triggers and buffers. Disconnectors, hammers, sears - all that crap can easily fail if you find yourself fighting in an unconventional manner Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  9. Ranger that - I got to stop thinking like a retard S6 guy lol.   The Signal Community is HORRIBLE when it comes to information and practicality of certs. I have had several Brigade S6 personnel - and other higher ranking guys swear up and down that you need to have CCNA, MCSE, CISSP and all that other high speed stuff to get a job.   INFOSEC and PKI may be something to venture in further down the road but you are right, I shouldn't just jump at it for no reason.   That reminds me of an article I read not long ago - saying that CISSP was way overplayed and (ISC)2 (to paraphrase) is full of meatheads and it is not as prevalent as it was.   I figure (I may be wrong) the pragmatic certs - and by that I mean, that teach you something worthwhile - seem to be the Cisco and Microsoft Professional certs.   However from the talks I had today, finishing my Bachelor's is a bit more important than cert hunting
  10. AJA wasn't TOO bad of a news source, oddly enough.   Granted - they obviously hate anti-Islamic sentiments, and are pretty hypercritical of stuff that a republican/conservative would agree with but their stuff wasn't half bad.   Much better than those wooden teeth, tea drinking, crumpet eating, colonizing, red coat wearing, church bombing, big clocktower loving, monarch bowing cucks at BBC...
  11. Already thought of another question   As far as telecommuting goes - are these positions solely for Tier 1 Remote Help Desk/CSS jobs?   Obviously I do not expect to get a really good paying job and getting entrusted to work while in Ranger Panties and a sombrero - but what is the general industry vibe/usage with telecommuting? Is it something that is job-to-job dependent/something that can be negotiated for?   I understand the liability of lack of motivation, or cyber threats from having someone with remote VPN access to a classified IS, just figured I get some background before running my mouth about something I do not fully grasp.
  12. Finally getting it figured out - definitely better than FB though
  13. Before I let this get ahead of me I want to sincerely thank everyone who has contributed thus far, and sent me PMs/Emails and other sets of advice, I knew we had a decent amount of IT folks - but not this many, so that is good.   Had the opportunity to talk to Pete123 in person today and networked with some other people, it has already been an awesome experience and makes me more and more glad that I reached out to all of you here on TGO for advice/help.   Will begin searching for an accelerated program in Computer Science for Network Admin stuff, trying to set my 25m goals accordingly and not try to jump into some directorate position (not like that'll happen anyway lol)   Enrolled for Feb w/ Syracuse to knock out my CCNA cert - I think they also offer CISSP, have to double check the program but I will try and go for that instead if they do have it - more for the fact that they pay for one exam, might as well make it the most expensive/relevant one   Hopefully the connections/advice I have gotten can translate into a job offer(s) God willing in the next few weeks so I can make a quick transition - as my family is my number one priority.   Also didn't realize how important LinkedIn was until today lol
  14. I always wanted a Stryker...im sure as a FFL 10/11 I could have a new cannon installed? Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  15. Well 180 days is a good time to hire me an estate lawyer and financial planner, get a new job, move somewhere far away but stay CONUS. Create a blind trust, probably a few. Set up an estate plan - an a LLC unrelated to make donations from to offset taxes. Hell just pay off debts and buy a 1050 honestly - dont want to mess around with BS. My family is getting ZERO. All that matters is my wife and kids. No vacations, no leaving CONUS, no Lambos or Rollers, no mansions or BS. Just obscurity. ...and margaritas Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  16. Sam1 just gave me trust issues lol, I aint rolling in nothing - Ill be rolling my happy ass into obscurity Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  17. I have a NFA trust I never bothered using...think that could be used? Seeming as I also have a lawyer I know Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  18. Id be so damn nervous if I won. Id need to draw a bunch of cash and stash it so no one can randomly sue me for some BS Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  19. http://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/video-iranian-forces-board-u-s-navy-boats-and-detain-1752714780 Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  20. Statistically you have 289M chances of being a loser. This last drawing sold 320M tickets, so that surpassed the odds a bit and no one hit the big one. Hell Id he happy with 25K right now Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  21. Ah okay well PKI/COMSEC stuff will be something I will stay away from for the time being. Problem with my MOS and my position at work is I got thrown at every problem - Im extremely well rounded but not great at any one thing so Im a slightly skilled clean slate I guess As far as virtualization, whats the industry standard? Ive only had experience using VMWare and doing very limited remote stuff through TelNet and on Linux boxes. Plus my mindset is from the militsary commo side, meaning a bunch of damn SF guys or Infantry guys touched it and broke/disabled/compromised it - I spent way more time fixing things than monitoring/initializing if that makes sense Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  22. If the Iranians had any bite to their bark theyd slash their throats during the SOTU... Not that I want that to happen Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  23. If I did win Id pay off my truck and wifes car...which is chump change compared to a few hundred million Then I need some more baby diapers and formula...and wipes Then hire a financial advisor and find out what accounts to invest 50% on Buy a few 1050s and Mark 7s for 9mm, 357SIG, 10mm, 45ACP, 556 and 50AE...along with a FFL 06 so I can order in stupid bulk from Black Hills Buy some land and build a bunch of Type 1 Magazines and get my FEL in addition to FFL 11/20 and buy a Mark 19, and a GMV and proceed to blow up junk cars with HV 40mm grenades A Rolls Royce Ghost...just to get the stupid out of my system Finish my degree, get some certs, Id like to be a pediatric orthopedic surgeon one day. Invest some cash into pediatric hospitals and start a non profit free clinic Oh and since Im getting FAs a minigun will need to be on my GMV Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  24. Got that HCP quick for sure! Welcome to the family! Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  25. AEODPS and chill? Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
