  1. Yep...a dremel tool with polishing attachments and jewelers rouge is your friend. After a few hundred rounds followed by cleaning and polishing it's much better.
  2. I'm guessing that it would as long as you get the stamp to purchase the shotgun. Any shotgun with a barrel shorter that 18" is considered a Class III firearm.
  3. Is there still a provision in the law that will allow you to carry a concealed weapon on school property as long as you are picking someone up or dropping them off?
  4. I am playing with the idea of reloading target ammo for my .45 and 9mm. I used to reload shotgun shells years ago so I am somewhat familiar with the process but, with that said, pistol ammo seems to be an entirely different creature. Is there a significant savings for reloading these two rounds and what would you veterans recommend to start with? A starter kit? I'm not necessarily concerned with high volume but I don't want to feel like I'm never gonna get a box loaded either. Thanks.
  5. We didn't shoot anything over 15yds. Like many other have already said, It's nothing to worry about.
  6. I have 2 sub-compacts that I carry. I have a Glock 27 and a Kel-Tec PF-9. In my experience the Kel-tec is much easier to conceal and more comfortable to carry due to its light weight and very thin cross section. The Glock is much heavier, thicker and is somewhat more difficult to control due to the muzzle flip. I carry my Kel-tec most of the time in a belt or pocket holster and it is almost invisible. With that said, the Glock is a far better made weapon. The trigger much better, the fit and finish is much better and mine has never had a malfunction since I purchased it in 1994 (not sure how long I have had it exactly). If you do consider a Kel-tec be fully prepared to work with it until you can get it broken in and operating consistantly. You might even want to consider having a qualified gunsmith do a "fluff & buff" before you even take it to the range. Mine started out with about a 15-20% malfunction rate out of the box. After some polishing and an additional trip to the range it dropped to 6%. The last time I had zero malfunctions through 150 rounds. OF course there about a $300 difference in price between the Kel-tec and the Glock. So it all depends on how much you want to spend and how concerned you are about concealability and comfort. Good luck!!
  7. I want to thank everyone for the help and input. I found a shop in Ohio that still had a few and the best part was they charged the old price!! Should be here by the end of the week.
  8. Hey Dave I completely agree with you. I don't know how many times I have had to lock up the brakes or almost get killed by a big rig on S. Church that thinks the most important thing on the planet it getting to the Pilot station!!
  9. What a crock! I went to Dicks early this morning and they would honor the coupon...but the price on 9mm had went from $9.98 to $14.99!!
  10. Hey there...I'm new here but have been shooting since I was about 4. It's been a while since I have really kept up with everything but I'm slowly starting to catch up. I'm also looking for some additional handun training to go with my concealed carry permit so if anyone has recommendations please send them my way. Thanks!!
  11. Thanks Verbal....or should I call you Mr. Sose? jk I never thought of looking at ebay for something like this...I figured it would violate some type of ebay policy.
  12. That's the type I'm looking for...know where I can find one? The Shootersbox has been sold out for some time now.
  13. I'll have to head over to On Target this weekend and give it a try. Now where did I put my T/C?
  14. Yes, that exactly what I'm looking for....any ideas?

    First gun for kids?

Awesome! The Cricket looks almost identical to the Remington I learned to shoot with, but it's close to 80 years old now.
  16. I am looking for one of the old style Gun Ho type range boxes. From what I have been able to put together Gun Ho went out of business and the similar Pachymayr boxes have been discontinued. Anyone know where I might be able to find one or plans on how to build one?
  17. The shop in Triune is great. They also make really nice holsters. I just picked up one for my PF-9 Tuesday. I love it!! But as for leather here in Murfreesboro, Hobby Lobby has scrap bags for $4-$5. They might work but it depends on what you need. I bought a bag to make pocket holsters and it works great. You might also try The Shoe Fixer on Memorial Blvd. Their focus is shoe repairs but they have sold me a few pieces of really nice leather in the past.
  18. Good grief. It's sad but some people think turkey comes from the grocery store, not a bird. A distant (very distant) cousin confirmed this for me several years ago at a family reunion.
  19. A Kel-Tec PF-9 and a Remington 870. One to conceal and one to make it obvious.
