  2. Sweet!!!
  3. Right now...about 2" (pocket holster). Normally I have something within 4ft.
  4. Yeah...because ya know Doctors are experts on EVERYTHING, just like Celebrities.
  5. Why...oh Why?
  6. Deleted by poster.
  7. Got up late. Did some laundry. Got online. Found the perfect Christmas gify for my dad (although it will be after Christmas before he gets it). Gonna eat lunch and maybe go to Franklin. Nice to have a few days off.
  8. I don't agree with the search at all. He's paying what my dad calls "Stupid Tax" It the cost of being or doing something stupid....
  9. Thanks!! Once it gets here I may take you up on that. I have set up some small machine tools before and this "appears" to be fairly simple. But I'm sure there are some additional tools I will need and some of the items in my kit look kinda questionable (quality) so I'm probably gonna need to replace them. Looks like another hobby that has tons of cool gadgets!! And I love me some gadgets.
  10. Probably a XDM .40. Either to replace, or in addition to my Glock 27.
  11. Well after pelting the reload thread and members with questions for a while I have finally ordered a reloading setup. I ordered a Lee turret press kit and carbide dies for 9mm, .40 & .45acp. It should be here at the end of January. So now I'm starting to save my brass and get ready to reload some ammo. Sounds like a blast!! (ok cheezy comment but I couldn't pass it up!)
  12. A big +1 on that.
  13. Good luck getting the Post Office to do anything. I have the exact same problem in 37128. Everything is folded and/or rubber banded in half. I have had a few things in the cardboard type photomailers that made it through ok. But I finally started requesting (and paid for by myself) everything similar to be shipped by UPS or Fedex. at least I got them undamaged.
  14. Personally I would bite the bullet..no pun intended, and try to find a used Ruger or other good quality .22. It will pay off in the long run. It will be safer and more enjoyable for both you and your son to shoot.
  15. Sweet...I can't wait till they have a huge balloon arrangement at the ball game:devil:
  16. Cigar, Scotch - alternate frequently

    New Race Gun

Just commenting on the pistol. I only met the owner once.
  18. What type of paddle holster do you have strickj? I would love to find one that is secure and fits tight. I can't stand the one I have.
  19. I also have a Kimber. I have NEVER had an ammunition related issue. The Blazer Brass at Wal-Mart is one of the best deals. I recently contacted Alabama Ammo and got a price from them but it's at my office. PM me and I will let you know their price. I'm usually within 30 minutes of them 2-3 times a month.
  20. I don't think either one is more concealable than the other. The slide holster might be a little thinner overall. I have both, but I prefer a belt holster. It feels much more secure and stable compared to the paddle or slide holsters and is just as concealable, if not more.

Uselton makes a really nice single stack. But for the price...
  22. At one time I used to shoot silhouettes (small bore and large bore) and any time the weather permitted was an opportunity for extra range time. I don't hunt anymore but I understand your problem. But at least they are on their property. I don't know how many times I would go out to shoot and find a uninvited hunter on my property.
  23. I understand that cops are people too and also make mistakes. That's the only reason I handed his badge to the officers that showed up instead of handing it to the Chief the next day with a copy of the security tape. I do think that everyone, HCP holder and LEO alike, should be able to carry legally in a place that serves or sells alcohol. I'm not a huge fan of fast food and I think grocery store parking lots can be one of the more dangerous places. But I think carrying while consuming alcohol is a bad idea anytime.
  24. If it weren't for one experience I would be in complete agreement with the opinion that LEO's should be able to carry 24/7. I know this is an isolated incident, but it still sticks in my mind. Several years ago (college days..ahhh) I was in a bar with some friends. We noticed that the guy standing beside me was having some difficulty. Slurred speech, swaying, agitated at the bartender because he had been cut off. No rare occurrence at a bar. Well this guy must have been trashed. He passed out standing up, hit his head on the bar top on the way down. During this his MPD badge landed on the floor and flipped open...yeah...nice PR. He came to and we tried to help him back up, he started swinging at everything that moved and started grabbing at his right hip llike you would to draw your weapon. Fortunately nothing was there. The bouncers excorted him out while the PD was called. I have always wondered what would have happened IF he had been armed. I sincerely hope that his fellow officers had a frank discussion with him the next day. I will say that this officer was very young and I know, and I hope others do too, that his actions are not representative of most. But it only takes one incident to ruin it for everyone.
