  1. I think they take pride in that.
  2. Yeah, I know about the 'tude. I have purchased 7 guns from them in the last year or so and they still treat me like I owe them something. I was going to look at The Gun Exchange in Olive Branch, or that place in Cordova on Germantown Rd. I don't have to trade the M&P, but it will be a few more weeks before I have the cash I need. I have actually been saving money to buy a new 1911, 308 or 6.8 rifle. Do you remember when people used to do that instead of paying 28% on a credit card?
  3. I don't know if I would not have shot the guy. Regardless the language barrier or race no one should just walk into your home. Had that happened at my home my wife and daughter would be wanting to move (my daughter has a friend who was a victim of a home invasion and she (my daughter) refuses to stay home alone). When we were living in our midtown apt we had a contractor fall thru the roof. The guy scared my wife so bad that I had to buy a house the following week. I guess I need to work on my self control, but there is something that bothers me about letting that guy walk out of the house. I put some thought to it and you really did handle it well. I will keep that in mind should I encounter a similar situation. I just can't stand the thought of a stranger in my home.
  4. I am also in the market for a 1911. I live in the Memphis area and I am going to start my search soon. I have not decided if I am going to trade my M&P .45 or wait a few more weeks and pay cash. I have pretty much decided that I am going to get the SA Loaded in stainless/blk if I can find one.
  5. My understanding of the membership requirements are that you have to be a NRA member, pass a background check, and pay the fees. I don't recall reading anything on their website that said a sponsor was required.
  6. That's the purpose (hunting) that I have in mind.
  7. I am considering joining the MSSA (MidSouth Sportshooting Assoc.) in June if they will have me. If anyone knows anything about the place can you tell me if it's worth the initial fees and if it has a nice setup. I enjoy shooting (average at best marksman) and I am tired of shooting my ar15 and pistols indoors.
  8. I am looking for an affordable 6.8 upper to use on my M&P15. I ran across the Stag7H and wanted to know if anyone had any good/bad info on them.
  9. 39-17-1310 Affirmative defense to carrying weapons on school property. It is an affirmative defense to prosecution under § 39-17-1309(a)-(d) that the person's behavior was in strict compliance with the requirements of one (1) of the following classifications: (4) A person entering the property for the sole purpose of delivering or picking up passengers and who does not remove, utilize or allow to be removed or utilized any weapon from the vehicle. I carry a copy of that in my glove box. I don't want any issues when picking up my kids from school.
  10. +1 If you respond with anything other than sir/maam your a** is grass. Most Memphis cops are crooked control freaks. I had one pull me over because I passed him while we were merging onto the interstate. I want every crooked cop locked up or fired. On the other end of the spectrum I know several Memphis cops and they seem to be good guys. I guess you have bad seeds in every bunch.
  11. I also understand that it is legal to carry on campus if you are picking up/dropping off a student, but will not be exiting the car. Am I correct?
  12. I have a surefire x-300 for my g19. I purchased a Galco Halo holster for it, but I never carry that set-up. The light is mainly attached at night for use if I can't reach my spx or ar-15. While carrying I take along my surefire defender. The defender clips to my pants pocket the same as my knife.
  13. I carry a g19 with extra mag, surefire light, S&W knife, wallet and keys.
  14. It's true. I was watching a t.v. show earlier and they were talking about this impending train wreck. The parent that buys that crap for their daughter needs to be beaten in the public square.
  15. I am only a basic member, but I did renew my membership last month.
  16. I really enjoy my g26, but I find that Desantis Nemesis prints like a big wallet in my front pocket.

    S&W M&P 15-22

Any idea where I can get my barrel threaded in W. Tn?

    S&W M&P 15-22

    +1 On the M&P 22. I like mine alot.

    Just got a Glock 26

Someone beat me to the punch, but I will say it anyway. Shame on you! Don't you fell like a thief? Seriously, I own the g19,g26, and g36 and I could not be happier. I can grab any of the three and have absolute confidence in their reliability.
  20. Crime can happen anywhere. If we were confident in our safety in our own communities most of us would not own so many guns. Back to the post. If I were one of those officers there is no way that I don't return fire. I would like to sound noble and all, but my wife and kids would hate my corpse if I died without fighting back. That kid in the car might not have made it. I am not lying in a ditch pretending to be dead while a drug dealer decides my fate.
