  1. For 9mm carry, I'd recommend the SIG P239 instead of the 229. The 229 is heavy and bulky.
  2. The source will be the members of TGO. As we find locations, we'll report them to the database. I've got just a few more questions to be answered by the developer and then we're going for it.
  3. I bought several packs of them at a gun shop in Paducah several years back. But I've seen them at gun shows too. They were marked .30 but they fit my .30-06 just fine.
  4. Fun / weird things I've shot before... Old Crown Vic police car sourced from a junk yard Old Ford LTD sourced from a junk yard Computer monitors Computer hard drives Computer cases Billiard balls Cans of soda Mason jars of gasoline (with .30-06 tracer rounds!) Coyotes Groundhogs Interesting things I learned along the way... An old Seagate RLL or MFM 30MB hard drive will stop a 9mm bullet Billiard balls make spectacular explosions when hit by a .357 magnum Hiding behind a car door in a firefight isn't good protection Hiding behind a car, period, when being shot at by a 50BMG isn't good protection either. Coyotes do dumb things like run headfirst into .30-06 rounds Groundhogs pop like water balloons when hit by a .223 Everyone should shoot tracer rounds at least once in their life
  5. Local places I'd try... East Side Gun Shop... owned by our very own The Rabbi On Target in Murfreesboro Guns & Leather in Greenbrier Top notch folks all the way around, so I doubt you could go wrong if any of them have one in stock.
  6. Very glad to have you here with us!
  7. Churches are easy pickings... especially small, out of the way, rural churches. Armed robbers can pretty much clean the faithful out and make off with everyone's tithes and offerings. Unless a sheepdog happens to have blended in with the rest of the flock. I'm really darn sure that I wouldn't want to be the guy who stole the Lord's 10% -- talk about karma. But it would make my day to read a story just once about how Gary Gang Banger tried to rob the First Church Of What's Happening Now and ended up with an impromptu visit with his Maker courtesy of an armed congregation. That would make me smile. A lot. Really big. Kind like this.
  8. Excellent. I ordered one earlier this evening for the new 1911. I'm hoping I experience a similar quick turnaround.
  9. Because God is happy to see me there no matter if I'm armed or not and likes it when His kids can take care of themselves. Oh, wait... it was a rhetorical question!
  10. I asked about that as well. Being that it's at the school... iffy proposition.
  11. I am hoping to attend and will be speaking with my better half about it this evening to see if we both will.

    Its on the way!!

Len, I couldn't let you have all of the fun to yourself. I'll be receiving a CDP Pro II sometime later this week. It's a one owner, under 300 rounds put through it, mint condition. Quite possibly a deal too good to pass up. This should fill the hole in my heart that was left when I sold the Kimber Tactical Pro II to the nice fella who might be toting it around in a hot, dusty, hostile foreign environment right now.
  13. How long did it take you to get the MTAC holster, UTArch?

    Sig owners?

  15. I actually preferred my XD45C without the extended mag grip. With the extension in place, I sometimes tended to pinch the palm of my hand between the grip and the extension. And yes, it definitely conceals better than the service model when you're going with just the non-extension mags.
  16. First thing I thought of when I saw this thread... Rex Kwan Do... Bow to your Sensei!

    Its on the way!!

I also hear that Tripp Research mags are good. But occasionally Midway will run the Wilson Combat 27D mags on sale and when they do... I scoop up a couple.

    Sig owners?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the new 220 Carry editions over in my thread about them.
  19. I whole heartedly concur... about 90%. I had a G23 and loved it. Arguably one of the best guns I have ever owned. But it ultimately was replaced by my M&P 40c (compact) because of several things that the M&P has over the G23: Fully supported chamber -- allows for shooting reloads or hot rounds Traditional rifled barrel rather than octagonal -- allows for unjacketed lead Better ergonomics due to adjustable backstrap Made in the USA I couldn't be happier with my little M&P. It has never failed to feed, never failed to eject, never had an unintentional magazine drop and is perfectly sized between the Glock 23 and the Glock 27. One of these days I will buy another Glock 23 to add back to my collection just because I have fond memories of that gun and am sentimental about things in a silly way like that. But I doubt I'll ever carry a Glock 23 again with as happy as I am with the M&P compact. Your mileage might vary. But that's what makes capitalism so nice; we all have choices and guns that meet our tastes.
  20. The XD has great ergonomics. Glad you like yours!
  21. As a native Kentuckian, I'm always happy to see folks from my home state show up here. Tennessee may be the "patron state of shooting at things" but Kentucky's gun laws were always a lot more liberal.
