After hearing and reading about how awesome K31s are for quite a while, I finally took the plunge and traded for one locally. I got it out for a short range session today, and it did not disappoint! I shot it and a Finn M39 for comparison. Both have great bores. I think the K31 outperformed the M39! If not, it was certainly toe to toe. Yes indeed, but this statement applies to basically everything I own! I try not to think about what it would have been like to have been collecting 10 years ago or more...it just boggles my mind. Yes indeed. Originally I was thinking of trying to trade a couple items from my Finn collection for one of these but it seems like there really isn't much interest in crossing genres like this either. I could add one more. They usually have a variety of milsurps in, and have a TON of newer items. In my experience their pricing is high, sometimes very/too high, but they are willing to trade occasionally as well. Check out Franklin Gun Shop, south of Nashville if you haven't already. A pretty cool shop here in Cookeville just opened up. The Bunker Militaria. You can check out their website and get a flavor. I would describe it as higher end stuff. And they don't have any Finn rifles (my prime area of interest) or seem to know much about those. But they are cool guys and have some neat stuff. Check em out if you are passing through. How would you all value a Garand build with a 50s H&R receiver, CMP stock, Criterion barrel, and GI internals? I am looking at one, considering trading for it, and trying to figure out how something like this might compare to a CMP service grade example. I am not looking for an exact price. I guess I have simple tastes. Just traded for one, a Finnish m28/30. Would love to add a Finn marked SVT 40, and a WW2 era Garand. For me, both would likely have to come via trade. All good advice here. I can tell you I have used that Advanced search feature on completed auctions many times as a buyer and a seller to try to figure going rates. I would add this however. I find, for at least some items, that the GB average, even if you throw out the high and low prices, still seems a bit higher than normal person to person local values. So, I take the average and decrease it a little, and go from there for a local deal, person to person. If you were auctioning stuff on GB, or if you were a retail establishment, I would just roll with what you see on GB. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I'll ask one more about WMAs as I might hunt some this fall. It sounds like all that is needed beyond the normal big game license would be the WMA non quota license, if that particular WMA requires one. But, is there any process for checking in with a ranger or wildlife officer prior? Or are you basically good to go with the license? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I should add that it will chamber the small variety of 54r I have on hand, including 203 grain SP. I can't wait to try it out. The bore condition has me really excited. My other M27 has a dark, dirty bore, even after lots of scrubbing, and it still shoots ok. This one is comparable with some of the nicer M39 bores I have seen. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Thanks! Some additional photos below. Stock is Finn spliced with rounded fingers. Nose cap is second type. No wings on the bolt or slots in receiver. NEW receiver. Looks like a postwar refurb that was untouched after refurbished. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I posted this on a Mosin forum as well, but thought it might be fun to ask here. I recently traded for a 1934 Tikka M27 that does not have a D stamp on it. In the reading I have done, it sounds like this not that common, but also certainly not unheard of either. I would be curious for the perspectives of those of you who have been doing this for a while how often you have run across this?
