  1. I think we all know where he was going--same place as usual.
  2. Is Glock-bashing the only way you can still get a woody?
  3. Nope--I probably put more rounds in them last year than you did in yours.
  4. Same here--I've owned four of them and feel that they are the best traditional-styled DA autos one can buy. I just got tired of two trigger pulls.
  5. Yes, it's kevlar and it protects me from the inevitable kB.
  6. Hmmm...all the ones around here are defective--they just shoot and shoot with anything you put in them.
  7. I do this whether my shirt is tucked or untucked.
  8. Something must be wrong with my Glocks--they never blow up.

GO COWBOYS! I also bleed orange.
  10. .40, unless I'm going to or coming from an IDPA match--then I have a 9mm.
  11. Hmmm...lots of common sense is spoken, until they get to the kinetic energy part (a nearly useless measurement, IMO). I think way too much fuss is often made of the kinetic energy factor; after all, kinetic energy is a simple formula which stresses velocity over weight. Therefore, higher velocity rounds like the 9mm are often misrepresented. A more accurate way to see what "hits" the hardest is to observe an IDPA or USPSA match which involves shooting steel targets. Note which ones fly down like they are hit with a rifle, which ones slowly fall over, and which ones sometimes stay upright. Hint: the 9mm isn't the one knocking the plates over like they were hit with a .44 Mag.
  12. Well, for the record, I'm a Gaston fan, and I think the guy in the video is just dumb as hell. At least he's not using real Glocks.
  13. molon, what types of guns did everybody use?
  14. I would be willing to bet that most guys with a carry permit could not get a COM shot off at 7 yards in under 1.5 seconds when drawing from an untucked shirt (when reacting to a buzzer). It's harder than it sounds. Mike.357, now you've got me curious. I can tuck a shirt over the CTAC, and blouse it a little to conceal it, but now I'm wondering how quickly I can draw with a tucked-in shirt. I've practiced it a little, but never timed a draw-and-fire. In theory, it shouldn't be much difference, but theory often turns to crap when the timer goes off.
  15. My apologies--I guess it depends on your definition of "deep concealment." That CTAC under a tucked or untucked polo-type shirt is about as deep as it gets for me. The untucked shirt is faster than the tucked. Same holster with shirt tucked in and under a vest or jacket is the fastest. You get much deeper and it almost defeats the purpose of carrying a gun, IMO.
  16. Bring your paycheck.
  17. My wife's Glock 19 has TruGlo TFOs, which have a reputation for being fragile. She has shot quite a few IDPA matches with them, and they've held up pretty well. In fact, last year, she shot a stage which involved shooting multiple targets through 8" PVC pipes. She shoved the gun just slightly into the pipes, and every time she fired, her front sight bashed into the PVC. Everyone winced with each shot, but the front sight was still firmly attached. I've been very impressed with the TFOs.
  18. Glock 27 in a Comp-Tac CTAC holster. I can easily get the gun out and fire a shot in under 1.5 seconds.
  19. Comp-Tac is top-notch except for their shipping. They shipped my CTAC through the post office, signature required. No signing the notice and leaving it for them the next day--they had to watch me sign it. I work and wasn't home, and my post office is closed on Saturdays. Kinda makes it tough to get my stuff. BTW, I love my CTAC.
  20. .45 1911s are strictly CDP, which is simply an 8-shot .45. A .45 M&P, on the other hand, could be used in CDP with 8+1, or in SSP w/ 10+1. A 1911 cannot be used in SSP because it is not double action.
  21. What mars said--pervert or not, he was still a forensic analyst who worked with the FBI.
  22. I got curious and found this summary of the Miami shootout: http://www.firearmstactical.com/briefs7.htm
