  1. I saw some .380 for $59 today. I actually asked to see them!

    Gun chicks

You can always teach a 10 to shoot!
  3. I'm sure the slightly used barrel will be the in good condition. I wouldn't think they would offer any less. So you did get lucky. I bought an after market Storm Lake 23 barrel for ~$98. That may be an option if the factory barrel doesn't work out.
  4. I'm glad you didn't trade a Kimber on a Taurus, not that the Taurus is a bad gun.
  5. I think a Sig will be my next purchase. They are quite a bit more expensive than a Glock. You could almost have 2 Glocks for the price of a 229.
  6. Sounds like more than the $310 OTD that I paid.

What .410 do you shoot out of it? I shot a 6 shot and it was all over the place. The cheapest I have found the .45lc is $31/50.
  8. Budsgunshop.com is auctioning one on their homepage. It was up to $400 the last time I checked.
  9. There are a lot better options for carry, both lighter and less bulky. It's still a pretty high quality gun.
  10. Sportsman's guide makes me mad with ammo. They show them in stock until you add it to your cart. Then they tell you it will be July before it is available.

    My Kahr=crap

Kahr is now sending a new recoil spring. Maybe that will help with the slide not fully closing. If not, I'll have a Kahr for sale at the gun show!
  12. It's probably $400 too, that's the CCA way.

    keltec .32

I wouldn't mess with the .32. Go for the .380 at least.

    LCR or 642?

I really like the looks of the 442. Is there a difference between that and the 642 as far as performance goes? My 642 scratched pretty easily, but its only cosmetic.
  15. That's what I did. I bought it at Mike's Gun Shop in Tazewell.
  16. I have bought 2 for $310 out the door. That's about as good as you will find on them. $292 was the shelf price.

    LCR or 642?

I forgot about the rattle. The one I held had a rattle too. The shop said they could not figure out where the rattle was coming from. It only rattled when it was empty. So that should not be a problem.
  18. Here's a pretty good article on the .357: Comments on the .357 SIG If you are having to compare the .357 sig to a +P or+P+ 9mm, then that should tell you which one is a superior round. They are close, but the .357 edges it out in all the balistics data that I've seen. I agree with the author of that article that the CorBon DPX is one of the best .357 sig rounds. There may be faster one out there, but this one is really impressive to shoot. 357 Sig 125gr DPX 1350fps 505ftlbs

    LCR or 642?

It's pretty tempting to try it out. Ruger has a pretty good reputation when it comes to revolvers. So my gut tells me that it will be a great gun. I talked to a State Trooper that traded his 642 after shooting the LCR. He carries his as a backup everyday. The 642/442 definitely look better.

    LCR or 642?

I just sold a S&W 642 a couple months ago. I'm having seller's remorse. So I'd like to pick up another revolver. I really liked the feel and concept of the LCR that I held the other day. I know how good the 642 is, but I've already had one. Do you think the LCR is worth a look? They are both the same price. And both are rated for +P.
  21. I went with Storm Lake. I believe topglock.com had them for $98 when I bought it 2 months ago. The fit is perfect, and the accuracy is improved over a .40 Glock barrel. It also offers a fully supported barrel. Plus it's sliver and looks nice in the slide. It looks like their price has gone up $20, but this site still has the 23 barrel for $98. 22. I've got the Glock 32 with an aftermarket 23 (.40 cal) barrel. For an extra $100 you can have a match grade barrel that drops in. The conversion only takes a few seconds, and you can still use the .357 magazines for the .40 barrel. I don't think you can use the .40 mags with the .357. I love the gun and the round. I carry it as a .357 depending on what mood I'm in, but shoot it as a .40. I called 2 gun shops and 5 Walmarts today and only found 1 box of .357 sig. The sigs are definitely hard to find. The one box was $25 for 50. As far as ballistics go the .357 is a stout round. Buffalobore makes 2 .357 sig rounds that are really impressive. In a low flash round the velocity is 1425 ft/s out of a 4 in barrel. That's about 200-300 ft/s faster than the fastest 9mm +P.

    My Kahr=crap

I believe it was stainless to begin with, if not it is now.

    My Kahr=crap

I finally got the gun back. I shot it over the weekend, and it was nearly flawless. I still have a problem with the slide not fully coming forward to chamber the next round after the previous round has been ejected (any ideas?). I don't know what caused the initial problem with the slide stop. I have a new guide rod and slide stop. They also replaced the slide stop spring which was bent. The last problem was my fault. The slide stop has to catch the slide stop spring perfectly or it gets bent in the process. I didn't figure that out until I cleaned it over the weekend. I had to take it off and straighten it out. After shooting it again, I think I'll keep it. It is a really smooth and accurate gun, especially for the price.
  25. I'm not a LEO, but my cousin is. He carries Golden Saber +P 9mm in his Glock 19.
