In the FAQ section questions 16 and 17 state that the ATF does not regulate a brace itself.
-
You don't have to get rid of it. They stated the brace itself is unregulated.

That's what I gathered too. As they so elequently stated since the forward grip on the pump clearly indicates it was never intended to be fired with one hand. So illegal when it hits the registry although they will wait 60 days before enforcement (by their own grace) which of course is worth nothing. As I have the letter saying the brace is ATF approved and a copy of the letter stating shouldering a brace is not a violation as well.
-
One thing I'm trying to figure out. The rule change says there is no waived fee or amnesty for braced shotguns like Shockwaves or Tac 14s. Does that mean they are a short Barrell shotgun right off the jump.? And if did pay to file would you have to wait for approval?
-
The registry is public so you can see by looking it up. But I'm sure there will be plenty of people letting everyone know when it's published. Or you can just see if braced pistols are still listed for sale.
-
So apparently when it hits the registry brace equiped pistols will be off the menu. https://palmettostatearmory.com/pistol-brace-rule.html
-
And no waived fee on the braced shotguns...
-
I guess the best bet to determine if it's technically in place is to follow the money. It appears to me Palmetto State and others are still selling brace equiped pistols...so there's that.
-
I'm hoping House Republicans see this over reach and cut their funding till they come to heel.
-
That’s what I’ll do with both of mine if it sticks..but I think it’ll get shot down pretty quick.
-
I honestly do not think it will stick but they gonna try anyhow.
-
They have made it official. https://www.atf.gov/rules-and-regulations/factoring-criteria-firearms-attached-stabilizing-braces

Oh man, what a coincidence I just happen to live in Lenoir City and have no travel plans other than meeting you and paying you your asking price for that pistol package. That is of course if you are not in that big of a hurry and are willing to bring it when you come. Sending pm with my contact info.

Do you ever come east any?

for-sale Sold Loaded Mossberg 590A1 Vang Comp 12 gauge
turkeydad replied to asu174's topic in Firearms Classifieds
I can’t believe this is still here. By the way with crimped shells it’s certainly 7+1. I recently did me up a 590 shokwave the way I wanted it and man I wish I hadn’t. This is such a good deal. If I didn’t think I’d have to take a $400 bath to sell it you would marking this as sold. -
This is not good. . not good at all.
turkeydad replied to turkeydad's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
That maybe true but its still a form of holding the gun financially responsible instead of the shooter. My concern is that more of this will come since this did pay off. -
I think this is going to set a really bad precedence. https://apnews.com/article/sandy-hook-school-shooting-remington-settlement-e53b95d398ee9b838afc06275a4df403

I ended up not getting one. I just put in a Geissele SSA-E like I have in my other 2 AR's. I get pretty fast split times with those and I know they work and ammo is just too high. .

BEeore I did bleach I would do vinegar and hot water. If that didn't get it move to borax.

ATF notice of proposed rule change AR pistols
turkeydad replied to partypilot1's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
September the 8th is the last day for comments and there are less than 170000 which is really low considering how many braces there are so if you have not left a comment please do so. Not sure how much it will help but it can't hurt. -
The market will adjust over time. Steel cased was over priced in market already. I'm set for ammo for the foreseeable future but I did pay higher than I liked for most of my 7.62x39. i have 3k of Russian steel case and 1.5k of Norma tactical brass. If the brass is only .15 more than the steel case I'd buy the brass.
