I wear my MTAC after work, mostly when I get home and dont change into regular clothes, therefore about 50% percent of the time.I changed their kydex clips with a set of Crossbreed steel clips, just because I like the way the Crossbreeds clip to my belt,it works pretty well. Its a hybrid-hybrid.

I used Alumahyde II from Brownells, its a epoxy coating thats sprayed on,it comes 2 ways, you can get it in a standard spray type can and also in liquid form that you have to thin and spray with a gun.The slide is the matte black and the frame is their dark gray parkerize color. It has to cure for about 2 weeks before you can handle the pistol much.I know first hand if you dont let it cure the finish will mar badly.

Most of the barrel length debate is valid, while the 3 inch 1911's have reliability issues depending largely on caliber and pistol maker, there are quite a few of us that carry 1911 style pistols in the 3 inch and have few problems with reliability. As for accuracy when the sight radius diminishes so does the ability to hit your target. Its always a must to practice with any firearm that is going to be used for defense purposes.A person can get quite proficient with the shorter barrels as well as the longer ones. Springer EMP 40 target RIA Tactical 3.5 inch barrel target Springer Compact 4 inch barrel Barrel length is not the most important factor, practice is.

Thats good shooting alright, the RIA's seem to be pretty decent in the accuracy department,as good as a short barrel 1911 can get.
-
Hard for me to choose also, its gotta be one of these.

If I am not mistaken Kimber uses all of their own manufactured parts.A lot of the Kimber bashers complain about all the MIM parts Kimber puts in their pistols.I myself have never experienced any problems with their parts.
-
most of the time its IWB Crossbreed Supertuck, when I feel like a change its OWB in a Desantis Mini Slide. Or a MTAC,

If its gonna be a pistol ,a Kimber either PRO AEGIS or the Ultra in 9mm,I dont have a 1911 in 9mm yet.
-
Its a Springfield EMP .40S&W,the grips are G10 Horned Lizards and they came on the pistol from the factory. Most 1911's you can replace parts and customize to your liking, however on the EMP they are designed from scratch to feed and fire the 9mm and .40 S&W,therefore some of the dimensions are quite different.

I use my RIA as a secondary carry pistol, its by far an excellent firearm for the money. So far out of about 300 rounds of FMJ and JHP,not a malfunction in the bunch.I would buy one again, although I dont plan on getting rid of the one I have. This is my primary and secondary

Too Many Holsters(I Think Not)Well-Maybe
krunchnik replied to krunchnik's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Ya,me thinks so too.I used to sell a few things on there, but after its said and done and the fees for pay pal and E-Bay,you only make about 65% on your items. -
So how many of all you carriers and shooters have too many holsters,i think they multiply inside that dark drawer we all keep them in,if only they would reproduce ones we didnt have, now that would be handy.Lets see your holster stash,I was bored today so I will go first.:D Dont be shy, lets see um

I take my pistol pictures mostly with a Canon S5IS,and a Wideangle Canon Adapter lens.It takes pretty good pics if you can figure out what a person is doing. Its one of the few that can take a Canon Speedlite flash,it has the hotshoe on top like a DSLR.I also have a couple of other lenses that helps with long and macro shots.

Any grips made to fit the officers size 1911 frame will fit your Rock.If you like the wood laminate look, give Raasco.com a try.All their Dymonwood grips are great looking and you can get them in a couple of different configurations.I have a few sets myself. this is a set on my RIA CS-Tactical with a Wilson Combat 22 Conversion.
-
Yes,you read that right, its a RIA Tactical 22,in all honesty its my RIA Cs wearing a Wilson Combat 22 Conversion,The RIA is the officer size frame and by golly this works just great.I kinda had my doubts until I mated the 2.No failures, very accurate and fun to boot. All I added was a extended Officers size mag well that way the magazine is not sticking below the grip so much.I must say it worked out real well.So if anyone was wondering about the combination it works.

Kimber TLE/RL II Yay Kimber-gets my vote,of coarse I am a little biased.
-
If it runs like my P94 you will be entirely happy with your first, congrats.
-
Well to all the nay sayers, tomorrow it will be 1 week since I quit the smokes,I have not given in to the smoke gods and have not so much as touched a butt(smokable one anyways).:D
-
You have a good revolver there,I had a model like that about 15 years ago,it came with 3 barrels and extra sight inserts of different colors,I wish I never would have sold it off.One of the most accurate 357 mags I have ever shot.I have kept my eyes open for one of these for awhile now.One nice feature of this design, you can make the cylinder gap as close as you want,it increases the accuracy once set correctly.Darn fine piece, congrats. My Dad has it in 41mag,still is a fine shooter after 30 years.

I have the 24/7 DS in .40 S&W and I like it fine, they are a fairly decent shooting pistol.I have about 200 rounds downrange with about 50 of them being JHP with no failures of any kind. They are pretty accurate if you dont mind the double action trigger.Although they do have a shorter single action reset. The 24/7 I have is pretty close to the OSS,minus the ambi safety, but it does have the decocker.I like mine.
-
Cant go wrong picking a Springer, nice looking piece.Congrats
-
Its just too funny that when someone defends themselves against bums like this people say he is on some kinda drugs, but think nothing of the aggressor to begin with,I say people get sick and tired of these thugs and they suddenly get what they had coming all along.
-
Well as far as an update, not to much to report, after 3 days I still am smoke free, just a little crabby, maybe that will go away, but I doubt it cause I was crabby anyway. So as of this moment my Springer is still safe at home.:D
-
I have my 3rd one on the way with 2 others in the drawer, you can tell I dont like them.
