I havent changed due to cooler weather,1911 in a Crossbreed or MTAC all the time.I prefer the feeling of the pistol being close to myself over the hanging feeling of OWB carry.
-
My PT is over a year old and has about 400 rounds downrange and no oxidation yet, still looks new.
-
Well now, thats a proposition anyone can see thru.
-
Garsh Danggit thats a purdy pistol, gotta love Kimbers.Congrats:D
-
And as for some of us we dont know when to quit collecting 1911,S,My PT1911AR is one of my favorites among the few I have.I have had no reasons to complain about either of my Taurus pistols, they both are reliable and accurate enough for what I use them for.My other Taurus is a PT24/7 in .40S&W,like anything else,it is always good to have a couple of choices when it comes to caliber.
-
They have 1 of these at our local Wal-Mart,looks like a nice rifle for around 1 bill,Marlin is usually a pretty decent shooting manufacture at a real reasonable price,Congrats.
-
I have the RI Tactical and they are a nice pistol for the money, the slide fit is tight, the sights are decent combat Novaks and the darn thing is really accurate not to mention I have only ran 75 rounds thru it of which 16 were JHP in Winchester and Fiochhi, all fed reliably, for the money you cant go wrong. BTW-This is a 3 1/2 inch barrel officers frame series 70 with no firing pin safety or plunger, bull barrel bushingless.beavertail grip, flared and lowered ejection port, beveled mag well, commander hammer and a good skeleton trigger-whats not to like
-
Thought this would be a good shooter, but I was wrong,I was a little taken back with how inaccurate it is,I may have to do a little research and see what I can do to tighten up the group a little. I dunno whats a fella to do with something like this :D:D

Thanks to jay1313g purchasing my Kimber TLE/RL II I was able to convert my collection of 1911,s mostly to carry size frames.I now have only 1 Government Model left and thats my Taurus PT1911AR and that one is staying.Let me introduce my latest carry piece,a Rock Island Armory CS-Tactical officers size, also shoots darn nice.I cant believe how reasonable these are brand new.Well how about a pic. I now have 3 I can carry, anyone have any experiences with the Rocks, good or bad.It seems like there is not a whole lot of negative feelings on these.
-
Man I am sorry to hear of your affliction(Glockitis)but now its being replaced by Brownings disease, and they havent come up with an antibiotic for it yet,the only known cure is either to buy more 1911,s or run out of money. Kimber sure makes a nice looking piece,Congrats
-
Thats a great looking job,who would figure some of this auto type paint would work so well.
-
The lubalox coating is just as it says a coating, very thin.It will not hurt you G27,I used them in mine. The bullet is jacketed and not lead under the coating.Your good to go.

My son is constantly calling me with questions about something one of his buddies told him,99.9% of the time they are totally wrong.I dont think that people keep up on the laws like those of us that have legal permits do,thats probably why we are legal to begin with,it all starts with the correct knowledge and not hearsay.

carry 6 if you can.
-
I refinished my Para LTC with of all things VHT high heat semigloss bake on caliper paint that I bought at Autozone,it was around $8.00 a can.heres a pic.its not for everyone but it worked for me,the slide had a few digs and gouges that I wanted to dissapear.
-
Man,gotta like Ray Stevens
-
For preping the metal I used 1000 grit wet or dry autumotive finish paper and sanded the complete slide, after that I used CLP Gun Scrubber for complete degreasing, did about 3 cycles and let dry completely between sprays. The can of paint was only a little over $8.00,thats why I figured if it doesnt work out I am not out a lot of money just the time I spent.I completely took the slide apart, the only thing left was the front sight.I replaced the rear sights with Para new style factory 2 dot. Thanks for all the thumbs up,and I will post more pics in a couple of weeks to compare how its wearing.
-
Yup,I just refinished my Para LTC,of all things I used VHT satin black bake on brake caliper paint and also installed a new set of factory rear sights.I dont know how well the finish is going to stand up to holstering but I guess I will find out,has anyone else ever used a non gun type finish,if so what brand and how well or not well did it work.(I only refinished the slide).

At present I own all of these models, each one serves its own purpose, the compact and commander sizes I have for daily carry due to the shorter length and alloy frame they are lighter than the full size steel frames, the full size Kimber I use as a range piece, and my Taurus I have a Wilson Combat 22LR conversion mounted on it full time cause it shoots so nice and inexpensive. All in all you can never have enough 1911's.Its primarily a individual choice of the shooter.I have never tried carrying a fullsize steel frame because of the weight and length but there are fellas that do.All in .45ACP of course.

Don't Carry One in The Chamber, Eh?
krunchnik replied to Oh Shoot's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Pretty disturbing,I now know the reason I have never carried other than cocked and locked, takes one step out of the fray.I really believe that if a person cannot trust themselves with a chambered round they may need to rethink their position on being armed to begin with. -
Yeh,a person on another forum saw a picture of my Kimber TLE/RL II and made me an offer,I of coarse said nay to the trade.I really dont want to go thru all the red tape to possibly receive something in terrible shape, thats a good point, that you get whats in the box.Not a good idea to trade for something a person cant inspect close up and personal.
-
Like the question mark asks, have any of you fellas ever traded a firearm with someone from a different state, like even trades,no cash involved,if so how was the paperwork involved, was it complicated and how would a person make sure they werent getting ripped off.Any opinions or facts are appreciated.

Single clip on mag carrier on weak side, either I wear my Gould and Goodrich paddle style or I have a Galco clip on.

I think its the prop for Bubba Louies home made motor boat, seriously its got to be put into whatever its made for stirring, theres not enough room on the bottom for a vat of any kind.Too low to the floor.

Man,isnt all that the truth,I think it is cause I read it somewhere,I think we are all doomed,I say doomed.
