I think I'll pick up a recorder. this is a hell of an idea. I think it's about time we fired back at LE with our own devices. don't get me wrong I have never really had a bad situation on a traffic stop but in all fairness they are quite common and it's your word against theirs.. so why not arm yourself.

Personally, I would have been a total DICK in this situation. I am always polite towrds cops but they have to earn it for me to continue to be polite.. In this situation the cop didn't earn a damn thing. It would have been a cold day in hell he searched my vehicle with out shagging his superior out of bed or at lest 1/2 a dozen other cops. Then I would have filed a complaint.

The question was going to Chicago, so if going to Chicago.. No handguns. If local laws don't trump fed and or state how can you be in violation of anything a city enacts? Whatever the case. If your that worried about protecting yourself you have two choices. don't go.. or carry and take your chances. i suppose some think the risk is worth it should the need arise. me on the other hand like my freedom and am not going to put myself at risk or going to jail.. but hey.. that's me.

1. you have to remain active to show online. I'm not sure what the timeout is but unless you have your browser set to auto refresh every so often you'll timeout and show off-line after a few minutes. 2. Seriously? This is a setting to control spammers. I'm sure David would love to allow unlimited PM's.

It's rough out there for sure. kids are exposed to way too much now days and way too early in life. almost to the point they can't even be kids anymore.

You are lucky it ended with that. now days it would escilate to something more. my daughter got arrested at school for fighting a few years ago. senior year.. **** started at school, escilated on myspace and by the time the **** hit the fan it was a tuesday morning at school. Total disaster. it was like 10 girls against 10 girls. two originally then others jumped in to protect their friends. I can only imagine what would have happened if one of them had a knife or even a gun. I don't agree with all this zero tolerance crap but I guess they have to start somewhere. My daughter learned a valuable lesson that day. a costly one at that. Not only did I ground her 17 years old ass from everything.. I also made her pay me back the 3500 in legal fee's to keep it off her record.

I have to agree with this. I got paddled in school, mostly for smoking and leaving school grounds for lunch but it should be left to the parents. Back then my parents said if he needs it.. give it to him.. so I guess you can say they had every right.. I never complained. I knew the risk and punnishment if I got busted. Today tho.. things are out of control. Kids have no supervision at all let alone any idea of whats right or wrong. I'm glad I'm done raising my kids my only worry now is the grandchildren.....

Actually this has been going on for a few years. It's just now blowing up. I think they waited too long to acknowledge they had a problem. now they are in dammage control mode. little too late IMO

Kids just aren't kids anymore. they are drugged, un-parented, loose cannons just waiting to go BANG!. I'm not saying this is always the case, there are good parents out there but let's face it, our kids are being raised by tv, computers, video games, cell phones, and the internet. Think about this.. Any of you ever teased in school? bullied? just plain treated as an outcast? At least when you left school in most cases all that stayed at school and you didn't have to deal with it again until the next school day. Today our kids are being subject to this abuse 24/7. kids are way too connected. Social networking on the internet, cell phones, video games, all outlets to let things fester, build, and get to a point of BANG! and if that's not bad enough, let's face it. parents just aren't parents anymore. as parents we are just as connected living our lives on our cells, computers, social networking sites, and in most cases totally disconnected from our kids. We have absolutly no idea what they are doing or even where they are most of the time. If they are home, that's all that matters.. you have no idea what kind of abuse your kids are being subject to AT HOME! I dunno what's going to happen in the future.. but things are definetly getting worse as time goes on.

Not where I'm at.. and certainly not on the weekend. would have to order. i have no patience for that..

I was on the way home from the harley shop with my new stage 1 items installed and fresh dyno job when I decided to crack er wide open for the last few miles. I topped a hill runinng 120mph. to my supprise I was staring directly at one of tennesse's finest as I topped the hill I was like OH! F! I pulled over right away got off the bike and waited for the trooper with my license and HCP in hand, and in plain sight. I was sorta half ass open carrying that day. As the trooper exited his car I told him I was armed and had a carry permit. He asked where it was and I raised my arms to reveal my sidearm. As he approached I started talking to him. I was making wise cracks about my luck and you SOB's really do have radar.. mental radar cause it seems like every time I do something like this I get nailed.. We talked for about 5 minutes about guns, bikes, the weather, etc.. then he said, have a nice day as he gave me my license and permit back. What a nice guy and what a relief. I was worried on that stop. If he had wrote me for going 120 in a 55.. OUCH! that would have smarted.. Anyway.. I have had a couple of experiances just like this and the cop either let me go with a warning or wrote me up for 5 miles over the posted limit. Can't complain about that!

This is exactly why I try to keep'er round 10 over. I think in most cases the LE are pretty cool about things. most of them are looking for the car flying by everyone else OR they have been ordered to patrol an area and write everyone over a specific limit..

I have one in the tackle box, fish scales, worm dirt, probably even a little rust. fires every time. Kinda hard to knock that....
