  1. Have you considered an NEF single shot? They are very affordable, accurate, and darn near indestructable. With your $400 budget, you should be able to get one complete with scope and ammo.
  2. PM sent. No hurry for the reply. Best wishes for you and your son.
  3. Thanks for sharing. You can never be ready for all possible situations, but you've given me one more to consider. I guess I'm the opposite of a lot of people here. When something odd happens at my house, I'm more curious than alarmed. That might get me hurt one day.
  4. Wive's are trouble sometimes, but in all seriousness, I wouldn't know what to do without mine.
  5. Link, I know nothing about you except for the things I've seen you post here. I see a pattern of paranoia in many of your posts. Please don't take offense to this, because it is simply an observation from a detached third party. Your wife might have noticed this as well. If so, I would expect it might make her a bit agitated.
  6. The best post I've read in a long time. I love your heart and wish more people shared your views. That's just awesome!
  7. You have to learn to pick your battles, man.
  8. Two things I see: 1)Would it be possible to make the stock any more hideous looking? 2)How's the trigger? I have an H&R 058 Topper with a 20 guage barrel and a 30-30 barrel. If I told you how well it shot, you'd call me a liar. However, the trigger is HORRIBLE in that gun. I wonder if the Rossi's don't have the same $2 shotgun trigger. Short of that, I like the idea of a cheap single shot with interchangeable barrels. You rarely hear of anyone having any mechanical issues with them, and they're quite affordable and easy to get rid of if you decide they aren't for you.
  9. I keep a few cases of bottled drinking water. When I buy more, I just put it on the bottom of the stack.
  10. Sorry. In the pictures, the sight in the top picture looks shorter.
  11. Thanks. I do appreciate your help.
  12. What should I expect to pay to have a 3/8 dovetail slot milled?
  13. Yup. I just broke off the blade. I actually put it in a vice to bent it, because, as I said before, it wasn't lined up correctly. I bent it, shot it, bent it some more, shot it. I was pretty close, but the last time I bent it too far. All it would need it a dovetail slot in the rib, ramp, or whatever you call it. Midway and Brownell's both sell 3/8 dovetail sights. Is there a way to file a slot, or is paying someone to mill it my best option?
  14. Yeah. If it isn't a lot more expensive, I believe I would prefer that.
  15. I know there are some gunsmiths here, so I'd like to pose a question to you. I broke the front sight off of my New Model SuperBlackhawk while trying to bend it, as it seems to have been mounted off center. Anyway, now I'm left with a sight rib on the front of the barrel. I think I'd like to mount a drift adjustable, dovetail front sight on it. Is there any way I can do this without a milling machine? Shoule I just take it somewhere? Are ther some other options I might have overlooked?
  16. :DWhatever works!
  17. I sure hope you got it good and clean.
  18. Can you take the front sight off the 30-30 and use it on the 375. It looks shorter in the picture. That holosight looks horrible on the 30-30. Other than that, I love your Winchesters!
  19. It's funny you should mention this. We ate at Logan's in Gallatin yesterday afternoon. While I didn't see any roaches, the service was terrible. I just assumed they had a temporary staffing problem, as they weren't at all busy. I now wonder if they are having issues from the top down.
  20. Apple IIe with the wonderful green moniter.
  21. I'm not a rap guy, but damn if that video didn't look like home!
  22. I love that rifle!
  23. You can find it for a good price on Amazon.
  24. Sorry.:blush:I thought you were willing to pay me if I read the book. Wish I could help you find it. Have you checked Ebay?
  25. just moved to knoxville Please accept my deepfelt condolences, and welcome to TGO.
