  1. Carrying a pistol in a well fitted holster does very little to wear the finish, be it Kydex, Nylon, Leather, etc. Where the wear comes from is someone constantly drawing and reholstering.
  2. Anybody around here aware these were produced? I found this one today, and thought it was too neat to leave. It is my understanding that they are no longer in production.
  3. I'm going to play devil's advocate here. The range officers have a dangerous and thankless job. It is hard to tell the idiots from the safe, knowledgeable people. The rules are there for your safety, and probably not written by gun people. The guy who taught my CCW class was the biggest idiot I've ever seen holding a gun. You'd guess for sure he'd know something about firearm safety. I thought my father was going to insert the teacher's gun in his rear orifice once. He had a cocked and locked 1911 pointed directly at my father's head while demonstrating "gun safety". There's just no way to tell who's who. That was the only time I've shot at a public range, and it was a very uncomfortable experience. I couldn't imagine being in charge of one.
  4. Guitar and piano. Quite rusty on both.
  5. See for yourself. A short barrel doesn't reduce accuracy. The short sighting plane makes accuracy more difficult, but a short barrel is stiffer than a long one, reducing vibrations, and theoretically making better accuracy possible. S&W revolvers are very accurate.
  6. I'd bet money Bob Munden could. I've seen him shoot balloons at 200 yards with a S&W snubbie.
  7. I can't, but I believe the revolver is capable.
  8. I'll bet! Hope it gets better soon.
  9. With sufficient practice, I don't see why this could not be done.
  10. If I recall correctly, we used Sno Bowl instead of Drano. The directions that were relayed to me were: Pour some Sno Bowl into a Coke bottle, shred some aluminum foil and put in the bottle, screw on the lid, shake it up, and when it starts smoking; THROW IT!!!!!!!
  11. I make holsters, and this is what I use for pocket carry. Shoot it often, until you can hit with it. It will be more accurate than you'll be able to take advantage of. Pick up a couple of Bianchi Speed Strips and you'll be good to go. As for cleaning, wipe it off with an oily cloth. You really don't need to clean the barrel or chambers all that often. If you have a gunsmith that is knowlegeable about S&W wheel guns, take it to him and let him slick up the action for you. If you have a bit of mechanical ability, you can do it yourself. I'd also remove the lock and plug the lock hole.
  12. Any specific questions?
  13. What happened to your neck?

    MLB

We went to The Great American Ballpark last weekend. It's really nice. I enjoyed watching the Florence Freedom of the Pioneer League the night before just as much as the Reds, however. Baseball is baseball to me. I like it all.
  15. I doubt you'd be sorry with either choice. I'd also agree that the model 60 is a good bargain.
  16. Not sad. If I only had one caliber, that would be it.
  17. It's a 43 Winchester that is a shooter and not a collector. I like it. It is a bit more than a 22 hornet. Brass is expensive, and I had to make up a case trim guage for it. I recently passed on a 92 Winchester in 218 bee. I wish I'd have brought it home.
  18. I bought an Anniversary kit 15 years ago, thinking I'd upgrade as finances got better. Finances have improved, but I've yet to see the need to upgrade. Unless you're loading 1000 rounds per week, I think you'll be more than happy.
  19. The only way to go with straight walled handgun cases.
  20. Mammouth Cave would have to be an option as well as Copenhagen.

    Dozen

    Wow.
  22. I usually won't persue it any further if the seller doesn't list his location under his avatar.
  23. You didn't go to our Wal mart.
  24. This won't help with the ammo availibility problem. Perhaps Obama will pay a visit to Oregon this weekend and write them a check.
