  1. I found the strip to be a very misleading place. My perception of size and distance was greatly distorted due to the absence of landmarks. There are nothing but rows of gigantic hotels up and down the street with nothing else around but desert. When walking from one hotel to the next, it appeared to be like walking from one house to the next in a subdivision, when in reality, it takes about twenty minutes to walk from one to the next. There's actually an area in one hotel, Paris I believe, that has a thunderstorm in the lobby every so often. It's pretty neat.
  2. I like Ron Paul, and to a lesser degree, Fred Thompson.
  3. Then why do they paint the slogan "To Protect And Serve" on the doors of their patrol cars?
  4. I'm not a big casino fan, but I really enjoyed walking through the different hotels. One night, we caught a free concert on Freemont Street. It was the Marshall Tucker band. We got to meet and have our picture made with the lead singer, Doug Gray. I also enjoyed Lake Mead, the Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyon, and a host of other local sights. I'll probably never go back, but I'm sure glad I went once. It was 114 degrees when we got there, and you could see snow on distant mountaintops. You can walk all day in the heat and your shirt never gets wet. It's a different world. I only saw one policeman while I was there, and he was riding a bicycle.
  5. Polish president, 96 others killed in jet crash - Europe- msnbc.com My thoughts and prayers are with them.
  6. No truer words have ever been spoken.
  7. The international is a very attractive rifle. There is no mechanical advantage to the longer stock. It is nice to have something a little different from everyone else's.
  8. My cylinder shaves a tiny ring of lead off each ball when seating. I don't see how a spark gets by that seal to ignite a charge of powder. I've yet to have that problem, but it would get your attention. Crisco isn't so great when it gets hot and runs into your holster.
  9. ...or maybe one of these.
  10. I have a copy of a 1858 Remington that came from Cabela's several years ago. It shoots great. You can also buy a 45 Colt cylinder to fit them.
  11. Probably one of these.
  12. +1! If you can't find it here, you don't need it. They have a very extensive line of BP stuff. You'll likely find something you like and did not even know existed. A LeMat would be cool.
  13. Should be taught in all High School economics classes.

  16. Looks like they have the potential and the will to stir up some serious poo poo.
  17. Man, I'd sure be proud of it!
  18. Guardians of the Free Republics Wow! Is this bunch for real?
  19. I'd suggest you teach her to shoot with open sights first, and let the scope come later. They would be easier to master, in my opinion, before the introduction of a scope. How's that for the o'l budget?
  20. In addition to reducing the effects of canting, the closer to the bore you get the scope, the better the cheek weld you get against the stock. That makes shooting more comfortable and repeatability easier. Both of these result in better shooting. I'll get flamed for this but; scopes aren't penises....bigger isn't always better.
  21. Have you ever heard of that particular group?
  22. Bredesen among more than 30 governors to receive threatening letter from anti-government group - WHNT
