  1. $189 sleep study from Lofta. The device fits on your wrist and hand. https://lofta.com/products/sleep-apnea-test?utm_campaign=US-Home_Sleep_Test-SMRT-GSN-SHOP&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwzZmwBhD8ARIsAH4v1gVJqR9v3nknT4BkgotIYgbb-EV6UQRtkJOKxHq-Ra4em1zR_fqrFdEaAkX6EALw_wcB
  2. Who do most people use to do NFA engraving in upper East Tennessee (between Knoxville and Johnson City)?
  3. I snored, had zero energy, fell asleep a lot if I was just sitting and finally got tired of getting elbowed. My primary doctor sent me to a sleep center where they hooked up about a gazillion leads to my head and a bungee cord thing around my chest and put me in a shabby little bedroom to sleep. I couldn't fall asleep and walked out 4 hours later in the middle of the night. Fast forward a couple of years and I decided to try again. This time I did the at home sleep study from Lofta which was a device they mail you that you wear on your hand and then you mail it back. They diagnosed my apnea and prescribed me a CPAP which cost me about a grand. I paid out of pocket and pay for resupply stuff out of pocket. It has been five years now it was worth every penny to me because it changed my life. I have a lot more energy and feel rested finally. No more dozing off in front of the TV or getting sleepy driving. Yes, wearing a CPAP sucks especially because I travel a lot but I have a travel model and it fits right in my suitcase.
  4. It means gun control that only restricts the freedom of law abiding citizens. Typically they want every legal gun sale to go through a FFL (and a national registry and tracking system for all firearms), ban any magazines that can be easily detached and/or hold more than 10 rounds, severe restrictions on where/when you can legally carry a firearm, registration and qualification to own a firearm, ban assault weapons (which of course are just semi automatics with cosmetic features that scare ignorant people), take away firearms from any person they think might be dangerous, and other such things. None of these things will prevent criminals from committing violent crimes like assault or murder which are already against the law anyway. I call them nonsense gun laws as opposed to common sense.
  5. I saw Buttgig in a news conference say they will likely have to seek funding from Congress (aka taxpayer dollars) to replace the bridge. I call BS on that, they can use some of that $1.2 trillion they just got a couple of years ago: "The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), aka Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), was signed into law by President Biden on November 15, 2021. The law authorizes $1.2 trillion for transportation and infrastructure spending with $550 billion of that figure going toward "new" investments and programs."
  6. The Florida Sheriff may not have been tactful but he was factual according to Florida law (as I understand it). Tennessee's Castle Doctrine and stand your ground laws are more ambiguous than Florida's from what I can tell. But there is no question that in Tennessee you can use deadly force outside your home in self defense if you have a reasonable fear of death or sever bodily harm. And whether it is or isn't legal, if a person is truly in fear of their life they should fight to survive by whatever means necessary. In my opinion anyway.
  7. I'd be interested in this.
  8. In case you missed it, here is an update on the recent raid by the ATF on a private citizen in Little Rock Arkansas. I see this as an indication the ATF is escalating their focus on private transfers. https://nypost.com/2024/03/22/us-news/search-warrant-sheds-light-on-deadly-raid-on-arkansas-airport-exec/
  9. I saw that. This is an example of the biden administration's all of government approach to driving their agendas. A couple of pro 2A members of congress have commented on this one but I don't know what they can do about it. The Biden administration seems to have the ability/willingness to create Federal government departments and entities without Congressional approval or allocation of funds (example: John Kerry's “Special Presidential Envoy for Climate” department that was never approved but has 45 staff members and an annual budget of about $5million). Until a new President is in office and until that new President cleans up the mess created by Biden's people, we are all going to suffer.
  10. The problem with those antigun activist groups is they are comprised of people who have a lot of free time.
  11. When it comes to Form 4473 and the ATF in general, do not ever believe the ATF has any regard for the 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution.
  12. OTTWAY GUN SHOW A gun show and sale will be held Saturday, March 16, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, March 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Ottway Community Center, 2435 Ottway Road. Admission is $5 per person. Concessions will be available. Call or text 423-956-1283 for more details.
  13. It is ridiculous politicians oppose firearm safety courses. Firearms are prevalent in our society and nearly every single person will be in proximity to a firearm at various times of their lives (whether they know it or not). Schools teach fire safety, drug awareness, and many other health and safety related topics in schools so why not firearms safety?
  14. It says he has no current address. I guess he is living in a van, down by the river...
  15. I found that for me it is less about the color and more about the optic itself but I also have astigmatism.
  16. I have a couple of Form 4s pending and did one via CA. They already had THP down as the CLEO so I did not change it. I certified it a couple of weeks ago and so far, the CA process has been awesome. As for Eforms, this is an update that was posted on the HkPro forum. It is not my post and I am just passing it along: "The eForms system is NOT down. ATF is still using it to process forms and those forms are still flowing. Form 4's for individuals have recently seen turnaround times of ~30 days. You read that right. Form 4 in 30 days (or less). That is the goal and it is being reached. eForms is NOT currently available to the public. That is factual. Why is not available? It has nothing to do with the White House, Joe Biden, budget issues, or anything directed by Congress. The public facing side of eForms was breaking under the strain of a specific load that the system was not designed to handle or could not handle. ATF is addressing the issue. The system is expected to be available to the public in the near term."
  17. It is not rocket science. The NFA definition is: "Section 5845(b) of the NFA defines “machinegun” as “any weapon which shoots, is designed to shoot, or can be readily restored to shoot, automatically more than one shot, without manual reloading, by a single function of the trigger." So if a firearm requires more than a single function of the trigger, it is not a machine gun. In the bump stock ruling they argued the firearm moved and the trigger did not which is irrelevant. That is nothing more than a matter of perspective whether the trigger is being made to function by moving a finger or the firearm is moving while the trigger and finger are fixed. It is still the function of the trigger moving back and forth that makes the weapon fire. Rate of fire has absolutely nothing to do with it or every firearm Jerry Miculek operated could be deemed a machine gun. The danger in the bump stock ruling is indeed the slippery slope which is real. Look at their action on braces.
