  1. I have gone back through all of my post concerning this issue and I find it interesting that you or anyone else is offended that I provide evidence of why I think Patriot is not representing their safes truthfully, would you rather I not share what I found out about PS ? I still offer to let you or anyone else to come by my showroom and I will show you an actual Patriot safe and let you decide for yourself if I'm telling the truth, what is offensive about that? I can't be anymore open than that, your choice, you decide.
  2. Unprofessional? for what? telling the truth? Well, as I have repeatedly said in my past post on this site, if anyone would like to come down to my showroom I would be happy to show them a Patriot safe that I have taken apart , This is not a Cannon brand Patriot series ,but a Patriot brand safe. If you want to buy a Patriot safe go right ahead, but I refuse to not tell people the truth about Patriot just because you come on this site and attack me. One other thing , I have tried numerous times to find out where PS safes U.S. manufacturing plant is located and all I find is evidence of them importing their safes from oversea's , so if you know where the plant is located I would like to know so we can put this issue to rest once and for all. If you can, the first beer is on me.
  3. Okay, Prosteel is closed for the week but I get an answer Monday the 2nd, Well the verdict is in, the design of the Medallion door changed in 2008 and drum roll please................ the outer layer of metal is 12 guage and inner layer is 10 guage , the engineer said it makes the door stronger with the heavier metal on the inner part of the door. So Daryl you were correct about the metal thickness on the door Happy New Year.
  4. I'm yawning as I type this because we are going back and forth about this and all I'm saying is the Browning Medallion M39F that I had from a warranty replacement, I cut the door apart for a demo display and the metal thickness that I measured on the door is a 10 guage outer shell with a 12 gauge inner liner. When Prosteel opens after Christmas I will call the head design engineer and verify what the safes in current production (past 6 months) are using on the door. Can't say this any clearer than this, If any one would like to drop by my showroom I would be happy to show them this cut away so they can verify that what I'm saying is correct. Happy New Year:usa:
  5. Ok, Daryl ............
  6. Thats a Kaba Mas Lock and to get a keypad that will work , if its a bad keypad , you need to get one with the same blue colored curcuit board.
  7. If you would like me to take a picture of the door that I cut apart on a Browning Medallion M39F and show you the difference in the metal thickness I would be happy to , you can see that the outer layer of metal is thicker that the inner. Not trying to get in a back in forth but I have the cut away from a actual safe, not a factory demo. Ho Ho Ho
  8. Tim, If you have a S & G electronic lock any S & G keypad will generally work on the lock if the enternal lock body is functioning. If you will call me next week I will tell you how to determine if the lock is bad and will need drilling. Just remember not to call just any locksmith, you need someone that has safe and safe lock experience. As Daryl ( safes )can verify , electronic locks need to be drilled a certain way and not every locksmith has had the training or has the experience to drill a safe open.
  9. Clay, It was a pleasure meeting and talking with your wife. Thank you for your business , we would have delivered it for Christmas but Santa said it exceeded the max take off weight for his sleigh. See you Tuesday. Mark The Safe House
  10. Daryl, The Medallion has a 10 gauge outer and 12 gauge inner, just measured the steel on a door cut away that I made out of a damaged Medallion.
  11. Not changing the subject, but as I figured you are not man enough to post your name, so be it , but don't bring up the Christian men argument when you are the one throwing insults. As for us standing toe to toe at my store , give me a break, I just said that if you would like to come down to my showroom feel free to stop by, nothing more , nothing less. This thread shouldn't be named "Gun Safes" it should be called "Pissing Contest" Feliz Navidad
  12. Cooter, or is it Walter? Are you still hiding behind your screen name? I always think its telling that you will insult me on this board but are not man enough to post your name or come down to my showroom and say the same thing face to face. So if you ever want to come down I welcome your visit, make sure you call first so I make sure I'm in the office. HO HO HO:cheers:
  13. Cooter, You know I'm getting the feeling that you and I will not agree no matter what we both post. You not identifying yourself in your profile and not doing so in your post tells me alot. You saying you have a 2012 brochure (which are not available yet, but to a limited number of people) and you posting the browning manual lends itself to you being a dealer with an axe to grind. You flaming me on this board with names and accusations doesn't make you a very credible source on this board. As I said before I will stand behind Browning AND a lot of the other brands that I carry. Some are better than others, but I would rank the Browning / Prosteel safes in the top of the stack. If you would like to come by my showroom (you apparently know where it is) and talk to me man to man instead of hiding behind a screen name I would be more than happy to discuss any subject about safes you would like, but I'm through feeding your anger and arguing with you. Merry Christmas to all............
  14. Here is one study that was done on house fire temp's , its a boring read but it shows that typical house fires will run between the 800 to 1400 max. Of course, there are always different ways to test fire ratings but this is just one test that you can research one line about fire temps. Just saying
  15. Dakota, Found a few minutes before I go out of town for a few days, lets see if I can answer your questions. 1) can you explain how the PP65F have the features of the Titan with the cost of the Guardian: Well for one thing Fort Knox is one of, if not the most expensive gun safes on the market for the features that you get. I think they are a very good safe but pricey. When I say the Platinum has the features of the Titan this is what I mean. Body thickness : 7 guage , both the Platinum and Titan , 10 guage on the Guardian Fire Rating: Browning Platinum 120 minutes at 1200 degrees , internal temp raise 275 , certified fire test. Fort Knox Guardian 90 minutes at 1680 , internal temp 350 , certified fire test. If you look at the amount of fire board ( yes both use the same material) both have about the same thickness of fire resistant material, so why the difference ? The Fort Knox brochure says "up to 2 11/32 wall thickness, Browning says 2 1/2 of fire board, both use the same door seal system. So why does Browning only do their test to 1200 degrees? I think it is because most home fires don't burn much hotter than 1200 degrees, is 1680 hotter , yes or course but if you look at the internal temp during the test and the material that both companies use , I don't see much difference in the fire ratings. Like I said in my last post , if you want to see a real world test on a Browning Medallion that survived a complete house fire that was over two hours long and burn the house completely down around the safe , just let me know and I can send them to you. Plus all of th other standard features on the Browning are options on the Fort Knox or not available at all. Daryl before you get your underwear in a bunch , remember that I don't think that Fort Knox is a bad safe , just a little expensive for the features you get compared to other safes. One more thing before I go, If you really want a tough safe with the most protection and fire rating, get a TR TL 30 x 6 jewelry rated safe, it blows both of the Browning and Fort Knox safes out of the water protection wise and you can get one in your price range, but this is a different level safe that the gun safes are not design to.
  16. Drum Roll Daryl........ Dakota, if you would like to call me I would be happy to discuss the difference in features between the two safes. If you would like me to type the features out on this board it will be a few days before I have time to do so. Of course Daryl feel free to add your literay skills to this discussion and type out the features of both models. If you would like a real world test instead of a paper chart I would be happy to send you a few pictures of a Browning Medallion M39F that was in a full house fire, over two hours and the house burned completely down. This is Brownings 90 minute fire rated safe and all of the contents were protected, PM me and I can email the pictures to you. Mark The Safe House
  17. Just the facts? Brownng Gold G65F Size: 72 x 56 x 28 Wgt: 1665 lbs 10 guage body 1 1/2 bolts with corner bolts on both sides of the door, Anti Pry extended throw locking bolts 1 hour 40 min fire rating , inside temp raise did not exceed 275 on the interior during test, this is standard on Gold Series Omni Barrier Lock Protection Drill Resistant Deflector Plate DPX Door Package with long gun storage standard Exterior hinges for greater access Fort Knox Guardian 7251 Size: 72 x 51 x 27 Wgt: 1692 lbs 10 guage body 1 1/2 bolts with corner bolts 90 minute fire rating , inside temp did not exceed 350 on the interior during test, 120 minute fire rating special order only and cost more Drill Resistant Ball Bearing hard plate Door Package not standard, Special Order Exterior hinges not standard, Special Order We have the Browning G65F in stock and ready for delivery and if you compare prices and features the G65F is a better value for the money. We have done service work on both of the Browning and Fort Knox safes and have had to drill open both brands. For a professional safe tech, both brands are difficult to drill and open , but one isn't any harder than the other no matter what a website or a brochures says. For a common thief both will hold up under normal and extreme attacks, when you get into this level of safe you can't pry open the door or beat the safe open in a reasonable amount of time. The only way to get the safe open is to drill it or cut it open with a torch, which both would take someone who knew what they are doing to accomplish or one other way would be a gas powered saw with a metal cutting blade to cut the safe open, oh and a water hose to put out the fire you would start with the sparks. So the short of it is you won't get in either safe easily. If you really want to compare try the Browning Platinum PP65F and it won't cost any more than the Fort Knox Guardian and it will have the features of the Titan series at the Guardian price. One other thing to consider is the Browning Warranty, NO ONE in the industry can beat their warranty and the way they stand behind there products. In all of the years I have sold safes the best warranty I have seen is the Browning / Prosteel warranty. If you have any questions, of course call us at 615-255-0500
  18. Dakota, If you would like to drive over to our showroom in Nashville and take a look at our selection, we have over 200 safes on display and more in the warehouse to choose from. We have all but the Ft Knox in stock and would be happy to show you the difference in the brands and models. No pressure just the facts, you can decide which one you like best. Also, the Browning safes can be special ordered with out any logo on them if you prefer that look. You can call us at 615-255-0500. MB The Safe House
  19. Sorry GT , didn't see this post . This is my opinion on the questions that you asked, The best safe money could buy would be a TR (torch attack) TL (tool attack) 60 x 6 safe. This would protect you from torch and tool attack for 60 minutes on all six sides of the safe , with multiple relockers , protected by glass plates in front of the lock as well as hard plate that is a night mare to drill trough. A safe like this would be kinda pricey, in the 40 to 50k range new and very heavy, the last one we installed for a jewelry store weighed over 12 thousand pounds, that was a fun day ! Graffunder makes a high end Gun Safe that has very thick metal and a good fire rating they start in the $6000 range. The best middle of the road safe would be a upper end quality gun safe , a few brands to consider would be the Browning Medallion, Gold or Platinum. The Liberty Lincoln or Presidential . The Champion Crown or Triumph series and the American Security BF series. Fort Knox makes a good safe but it a little pricey for what you get for your money, but still a good safe. Best bang for the buck would be the Browning Silver, Bronze or Sporter. The Liberty , Franklin, Colonial . The Champion Trophy and Medalist or the American Security SF series. The Winchester Ranger or Silverado are good safes for the money, I don't like the lower end Winchester safes. Like anything else which brand someone likes is subjective , but I have been selling safes for almost 19 years and have seen the good with the bad. We do service work for most of the major safe brands in the Middle Tennessee area and we have seen who stands behind their safes and who doesn't , who makes a quality product and who's safes are always having problems. There are a lot of safe brands out their but I would recommend that you buy a safe from a company that stands behind their safes , not just on paper but actually covers their safes when you need it. As always if you have any other questions just give us a call or visit our website at www.nashvillesafehouse.com
  20. 22. Daryl, So let me get this correct, you post and ad that says drive all the way to Alabama and buy a safe and I post my ad that says that I also have good deals on safes and you think I'm talking bad about you? Who was on this board 2 years before you ? So if anyone is slaming anyone it would be you, but hey thats just business. We have been selling safes for about the same amount of time and in all of those years you haven't change one little bit, still the same ole Daryl. We will never agree with each other but one thing is for sure, I will gaurantee that any customer that comes by my showroom that I will meet or beat any price you have on the same in stock safe. Which I have always done anyway. So no hard feelings just business. Do you still carry Browning? Daryl I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas , no hard feelings on my end , its always fun going back in forth with you, some things never change
  23. Thanks to everyone that came by and took advantage of our Black Friday Sale. We have two truckloads of safes arriving this week for the Christmas rush. Drop by and save $100's of dollars on a quality safe. We offer a free layaway plan and 6 months same as cash*. Give us a call or come by our showroom and check out our huge selection of safes.
  24. There are a few brands that we both carry , but for the most part we carry different brands. DR doesn't carry Browning any longer and I don't stock Fort Knox safes. I have discontinued carrying Bighorn for the most part due to various reasons, but we stock over 8 different brands. If you have any other questions please feel free to call me. DR and I have both been in the safe business for a long time and have differing views on selling safes, but hey thats okay, life would be boring if everyone agreed on everything.
  25. I suprisingly disagree with you, TSC sells cheap quality safes at a low price because they bet up the safe manufacturers on price so they build a low quality cheap safe overseas that they dump on the market and sell on price only. So DR, I guess what you are saying is that if customers don't want to drive down to see you and buy a cheap low quality safe they should just go to a big box store and buy a cheap low quality safe? Okay, if that works for you. I will keep saying the same thing I have said for over 18 years in the safe business. If you want a quality safe at a good price give me a call. I will be more than happy to show you the features of multiple brands of safes and let you make a informed decision based on the facts, not just based on a low price. On the subject of videos on the internet, if you watch my video's they show a well built safe cannot be pried open. I always feel its better to show people how a low quality product is not what it says it is , instead of them believing that it will protect their important items. Shine a light on the truth and its still the truth.
