  1. One or the other of these two is always in my pocket..... Along with one of these on my belt..... Occasionally this..... Or this..... Sometimes this..... Maybe this.....
  2. Cool, thanks Mike. Does ayone know if the AEDC rifle range is open to the public or is it Military Personnell only?
  3. Does anyone know of a public rifle range around Tullahoma? I'm looking for somewhere I can bench-rest test a rifle out to 150yds at least.
  4. Absolutely! I could not agree more. My problem is purely in the crossbows infringing on Bowhunting season & the NRA helping to push through the legislation allowing it. I have no problem at all with them being used in Open Gun season.
  5. That was the original argument, yes. However it got kinda mutated to cover anyone & everyone. I know that my opinion on this matter is very inflammatory, but I sincerely believe that if you can't hunt with a bow, you shouldn't hunt in Bowhunting season. There's plenty of other ways/time to hunt, without infringing on a specialist season, that they cannot partake in. Neither argument has anything to do with guns or firearms at all, so why the NRA felt the need to stick their oar in, I can only imagine.
  6. The NRA are pivotal in campaigning to get crossbows introduced into archery only hunting seasons. I seems like a small, petty thing to most, but crossbows have NO place in archery only seasons. Anyone can shoot a crossbow, that's why they were invented. Shooting a real bow, whether longbow, recurve or compound takes a lot of skill & practice. The real kick in the britches is that in a fair few States, you can shoot a crossbow in Special Archery seasons, but you can't hunt wth a bow in Shotgun or General Firearms season!! I'm not bashing crossbows, or anyone who chooses to hunt with one, just the fact that they have no place in Archery Only seasons. To give a brief comparison, a compound crossbow has pretty much the same effective range as a shotgun shooting a slug. If you've ever shot a rifle or shotgun, I guarentee you, you can go out & hunt with a crossbow with absolutely zero practice. To my mind, the NRA has used their influence to help push through this legislation to the detriment of all bowhunters.
  7. I'm not an NRA member and until they can keep their collective noses OUT of bowhunting & stick to guns, I never will be. However I get at least one phone call & several mailers A WEEK from them. I have repeatedly asked them to stop bothering me, I've even written them a polite letter explaining why I'm not interested in joining & still they pester me. I'm beginning to get a little pissed off.
  8. I can't understand the fascination with hot dogs, myself. A six inch tube stuffed with puréed lips, arseholes & floor sweepings never held that much of a gastronomic appeal to me. Once you've had a proper English butcher's sausage, filled with pork & herbs, no factory produced turd will ever substitute.
  9. East. Waaaay East. I got onto a friend's permission near Townsend & hunted there a couple of weekends ago. Lots & lots of hog sign up in the mountains, but I'm told you've got to know someone that owns land to have even a remote chance of hunting over there. Buy a 'bama/Georgia license & go nuts! It's probably cheaper & easier!
  10. No problem at all, as long as you stay at 'sensible' distances. Remember to keep your shot low & forward.
  11. I've had both & still own the PF2. The Sitka looks like a nice idea, but frankly it's a pain in the ass when you've got more than a couple of pounds in it. It slides around all over the place, your shoulder fatigues a lot quicker & 'rotating it to the front' turns it upside down & all your crap falls out (maybe I did that bit wrong....?) Take it off & you can wear it on your chest, but once you've got it off, you can access your stuff anyway, same a 'proper' backpack. The PALS stuff al over the place is a waste of material too. Tacticool? Yes. Practical applications? None.
  12. I can eat these until I'm sick.....
  13. Can't you think of a way of maybe plugging her mouth while she's asleep?
  14. It's true, accounts can get hacked. In fact mine has been. I'm not even posting this reply! Guns are gay. See?!?! That's not the kind of thing I would post at all! The security on my account is obviously ridiculous. I wonder if I should buy my account a gun (Not that I would, they're gay & this isn't even my account!) GGAAAARRGH!! STOP posting on my account you dirty hacker!
  15. True, true. An awesome movie without a doubt, but Matthew Quigley ain't no Tell Sackett! Tell Sackett could easily whoop (dare I say it.........) Chuck Norris's butt. Hell, he'd probably throw John Wayne outta the way to get to a fight!
  16. Again Sam Elliot out tough's Tom Selleck in The Sackets & the Shadowriders!
  17. Steve McQueen or Sam Elliot (NO-ONE else thinks Sam Elliot????) I'm 50/50 split 'tween the two.
  18. Handsome Rob

    WHAT????

    Whosaidwhotowhut now?
  19. You mean rat gun, right? Even if sawing off a gun to 18" is legal, shooting snakes ain't.
  20. "No I didn't........" Or ".......asked for a six inch PIANist!!!! What smell?..."
  21. Sorry, not an AR platform, but I ain't got that kinda cash! I finally managed, after a few months of looking, to find a good condition Marlin 882SS on which to base my varminter project. I really like the idea of a .22WMR I know it's no long-range 'yote dropper like a 22-250 or .223, but it's cheap to feed, accurrate as all get out (now) & I'm told, more than adequate for upto 100-125yd shots Upto now I've done a few 'backyard' trigger mods to get the pull down from a frankly ridiculous 7-1/2 pounds to a far more grouping-friendly 3 pounds & I've added a 4-16 x 40 AO scope. Right now I'm gnawing at my fingernails waiting to get my stock blank (one of these......) The stock is, apparrently, 50% inlet for the action & will need a lot of work & final finishing. Hopefully in 10-12 weeks I should be able to show off the finished article!
  22. I'm really wanting to try my hand at a few coyotes. Does anyone know of any populations on public land around Franklin/Coffee counties? I'm thinking possibly Bear Hollow, Flintville Hatchery or similar areas. I don't have access to any private land, so WMAs are my only option (I think. Y'all may know better! )
