  1. I thought about getting a XBox to play this, but I hate FPS on consoles. Thumbsticks are a joke compared to a mouse and keyboard. I was going to buy it for PC, but then I started reading all of the hoopla about no dedicated servers. That plus the CEO's bad attitude and the 60 dollar price tag are enough to make me wait until it's 9 bucks in the bargain bin.
  2. Why are you dead set on using Pow'r Ball? You can try to "fix" your pistol to accept this round, or you can just use a round that works. Like PMC Bronze until you find a SD ammo that will extract correctly.
  3. I play. A lot. I just overhauled a Tippmann 68 carbine to toss around in rec games, but I primarily use my CCM pump with a 13ci tank and 40 round hopper. Oodles of fun. And cheap I'm guessing from your location that you play at Bear Claw? How's the chicken farm situation these days?

    CZ Rami P

Unfortunately, the P07 is at CZ right now. If it gets back anytime soon, I'll take a comparison pic.

    CZ Rami P

According to Bud's, a P07 weighs 1.7lbs or 27.2 oz. A RAMI P weighs 22oz, with an alloy frame coming in at 25oz. Bud's also lists the RAMI P as being 1.25" wide. A Glock, according to a quick google search, is 1.18". I do agree that the P07 is thinner in the grip.
  6. +1 for Savage. I had a Mark II F from Wal-Mart that was a great shooter, especially considering the 117 dollar price tag. Only weakness was the trigger: it was rather heavy. Spend the extra 60 or so dollars to find a model with Accutrigger at Dicks or something.
  7. Harding Place and Nolensville Road Wal-Mart has tons of .40, couple of boxes of .38, .357 mag, .44 mag, .25, and .32. Also some 7.62x39 and .223.
  8. Well I've got a RAMI and SP-01 Phantom right now. The P01 is a fine piece but I don't need the accesory rail and I like the RAMI for concealed use. I just wanted an inexpensive .40 pistol because I generally see that caliber in stock at Wal-Mart. I was surpised at the gentle recoil of the Witness. It was comparable to the RAMI in 9mm which is also very gentle when shooting.
  9. Good to hear. I know some pistols designed for 9mm and retrofitted for .40 have had problems in the past, and I wanted to be sure if something pops up with this pistol that I can fix it instead of having it turn into a passive paperweight. Now after reading that review of the Elite Witness a few posts below, I might have to spend the extra and get a hand fitted pistol.
  10. I'm thinking about picking up a used Witness in .40. I tried it out and it's a great shooter, but I'm worried about long term longevity and parts availability. I have a few CZs now and love the form factor. The Witness is enticing because it's a CZ clone but a lot cheaper and it's in .40. Anyone have any experience with these?
  11. CZ RAMI? I just bought one today, and it is a kick butt subcompact. My pinkie hangs free but recoil is very light and follow up shots are very easy. Holds 10 with flush fit mags and it's DA/SA.
  12. Four Roses Small Batch. 90 proof goodness that goes down like water. Blows Woodford Reserve and Eagle Rare out of the water for the price.

    PPS, PF-9, or 709

If I were you and I needed a gun soon, I'd go ahead and get the PF-9 for now and keep my eye on the Slim. You can always resell the PF9 for a decent price and the 709 will either prove itself or it won't. If you don't need a gun soon, then wait a couple of months for the 709 to develop a history.
  14. Hmm..I don't think it's the end of the world, but I'm not a huge fan of monolithic matchmaking services either. I used to like Steam, until my friend used my account and got me permabanned from ALL of my games for cheating. Like 200 dollars in games, just down the drain, and without hope of reinstatement. Totally sucks.
  15. Defecate in your pants for physical evidence! Anyways, I think you're being too hard on the instructor. Basic courses are very basic courses. Did you snicker when he was telling people the names of parts of the gun? Like the trigger? I don't really think it matters a whole lot to the average joe HCP holder how HP bullets work, except that they expands and don't penetrate as much, which the gentleman pointed out. If you really felt so strongly about it, you could have spoken up and showed off all your knowledge.

    22lr Handgun

Is that the same as a Ciener unit? I'm thinking about getting a .22 slide, but I keep hearing that they're a headache and not worth it if you've already got a decent .22, which I do.
  17. Anyone watching this? I realize they only have an hour, but they've totally ignored rimfire ammunition. .22lr is the most common ammo ever! A Wal-Mart probably stocks more .22 rounds than shots were fired during the Revolutionary War. Skipped right from Minie ball to the Springfield Trap Door without even a mention of the Spencer cartridge. They could have done a whole segment comparing rimfire vs centerfire. Instead, they've got Gunny shooting wax blocks to prove(??) that shooting lead will foul a barrel. Oh well....

    1911s

I went with a Springfield Mil-Spec. Haven't had a single malfunction yet, and the slide fit is extremely tight. I'm very happy with it, but if I could change just one thing, it would be the sights. The fixed 3-dots aren't great for precision shooting.
  19. Revolver don't jam. But I agree...if you're that worried about it, get your Mom a gun and teach her to use it.
  20. It's easy to shoot, but make sure you don't get handed a dud p238. How you are going to make sure, I don't know, because I sure as hell got stuck with a lemon.
  21. USP Compact 9mm, Walther P99, or a CZ 75 variant.
  22. I loved my P07, but after a couple of range sessions the frame started swelling, mags didn't drop free, and the trigger stopped resetting reliably. It's being fixed by CZ right now. Once those issues are fixed, I anticipate being very happy with this pistol. Great shooting gun, feels great, and easily controllable despite the light weight.
  23. Cool Springs WM has .22. Tons of CCI (CB, Minimags, Velocitors (I think)), Federal Bulk, Federal Auto-Match, and Winchester 333 round boxes. Also had 50 round boxes of Federal 9mm and .40S&W, along with Winchester .357 sig and a variety of rifle calibers.
