I picked up a Remington 597 a few weeks ago for range use. I threw a $30 walmart scope on it and headed out for the range. To be honest, my expectations were pretty low. I have read about FTF and a few other problems with this gun. I have now fired around 1,000 rounds through this gun. It has feed everything that i have tried (golden bullets, Winchester 333's, cci's, etc.) Trigger is a little rough but defiantly acceptable in a $150 gun. Biggest plus, an adult size stock. I like the 10/22's but this gun just fits me better than any ruger. Anyway, this is a picture of the rifle and a target from 50 yrds. This is 25 rounds of cci mini mags. Might want to consider a Remington if you need a budget .22 Title edit........*Surprisingly satisfied!!

have you looked at the technique used to rack the slide? Try holding the back of the slide with your left hand and push the gun forward with your right. It helped my wife a lot.

I purchased a pf-9 last year for a summer carry gun. It features the "billfold brown" frame--i got a discount for buying that color. Anyway, i have finally got around to ordering a black frame from kel-tec. Just wondering what will be required on the install of the new frame. Here's the link of the product description. Thanks Kel-Tec CNC - PF-9 Accessories, PF-9 Parts - PF-9 Grip w/ Internal Parts

i went to get one but i went home with a Sig 522. Highlander owns it now but its a damn fine weapon for range use. I will still end up with a M&P when the time is right...........

This might be true to some. However, the majority of the "hardworking class" (i.e. blue collar worker) will prefer their coffee black and from a 7-11. Just my observation. Personally, Starbucks has nothing to interest me. If they put a sign on the door that says "guns welcome" i still would not frequent their store. I can make this ***** at home in 10 mins for a 1/4 of the price.

age does not always represent intelligence.... but, i know what your getting at. The "Big O" hit social media and universities in a big way during the last campaign. I know SOME of the students in this area have seen the light........i don't think that is the case in more liberal areas of the country.

you cannot use deadly force to protect personal propery. You must feel as if your life or the life of someone else (risky) is at risk.

Welcome to the TGO....only one HCP in TN. You can protect your home and business without a permit. In TN, you do not have to retreat when faced with a threat at home or your business. Some of the experts will come along and help you out with specifics of the TN law. Good luck and get that HCP.

Spent the day at the range with a first time shooter. He learned a lot and had a great time. I think we should all make a effort to spread the sport and take new shooters to the range......Surprisingly (considering he is recoil sensitive), he enjoyed the 12 gauge more than anything else. He will be purchasing his first firearm in the morning--a Remington 870. Anyway, here's a few pictures. I'm the guy in the gray shirt forgot the sand bags at the house .................

My wife asked if i would post this on the al'mighty TGO.....You can PM me if you have some info you dont want to post publically......Thanks in advance a little background: i graduated from Clemson 2 years ago with an industrial engineering degree. i had a job lined up after graduation but it fell through at the last minute, and at that time the economy was pretty crappy and i couldn't find anything else. i ended up back in my home town and was looking for any kind of job and got on at a local credit union as a temp. i am still there. i got hired on as full time and have gotten a couple promotions since then. it's a good job, i love my co-workers, benefits are nice... but really there's just not much more room for me to grow there unless i want to go into management, and i really don't. the money is okay but not great. what i do is not easy, but it does not require a degree of any kind. basically, i just feel like i am not at my full potential. i am not using my degree, which i pursued because i really enjoy that kind of stuff. i won't say that i am bored with my job, but i feel like i am heading that way quickly. so anyway, the point of this thread, does anyone know of anywhere i could possibly get on with an engineering job? we are willing to relocate. i just worry it will be difficult for me to find a job at this point because i have been out of school for 2 years and have had no relevant experience (besides summer internships while i was in school).
