  1. I buy all my components seperately so I don't double buy anything. Here's a thought also: 15 Minute Practical Trigger Job for the AR-15
  2. Two different guns. What's in the holster? Revolver? That is a little rediculous for a carry weapon. If someone shot me with that I'd have to slap them if it didn't kill me.
  3. DaddyO, If someone shot me with a .22 I'd be going the other way.
  4. My opinion is a used P238 to keep the price down. The .380 is a short 9mm. It would be enough to stop me I believe and I'm 210lbs. If not stoot twice, then your looking at .760. That should definately do it. I carry the P238 all the time and the only problem I've ever had was feeding Hornady Critical Defence with that soft rubber tip. I polished the feed ramp and had no problems since. Pocket carry has become quite popular so there are several to choose from. Just buy what your going to end up with in the long run.
  5. Ok. Great input. This will not be a carry weapon. It will be hanging by a magnet under my bed or at the range. Thanks for the thoughts.
  6. I've been pondering on trying a Sig Sauer P220 for a while. I want to stay with .45 only is the reason for the 220. I will have to give up my Kimber Custom Classic 1911 to get one. I don't see many P220's on here for sale/trade very often. If I end up with the Sig and decide to go back to a 1911 later it will definately be a Kimber. I am just wandering what input you might have on the Sig P220? I understand it's all about personal prefference, I'm just wandering about everyones thoughts on the Sig. Thanks for your time.
  7. Good info. My little Sig P238 isn't noticeable in my pocket anyway. I was just wanting to be careful and not get beaten down by rent-a-cops. Rivergate is now a bad place, not like it was back in the day. Just wish Corn Dog On A Stick would come back.
  8. Hello there fellow Hendersonvillian. TGO Rocks. I've learned a lot here and met a lot of good people.
  9. I went into Sears and it was not posted. I drove by the food court on the way to Sears and it was posted. So if I was to enter the mall at Sears without prior notification of carry limitations, is it ok?
  10. What's the difference in the hammer and buffer compared to .223? Lighter? Stronger?
  11. My dad gave me a Remington Model 24 when I was about 8 yrs old. He got it from his dad. I never knew much about it and still really don't, but I could hit anything with it. I got curious tonite while cleaning guns and broke it out. I found out how to disassemble, clean, and reassemble. I know it hasn't been cleaned in over 30 years and I don't know when before that, maybe never. It's not for sale at all, but I was wandering about the value of one of these little rifles? It's all original except where the barrel was a little loose so my granddad tapped bigger holes for new set screws on the front/top of the receiver. It's too late now to post a pic. I'll see if I can find time tomorrow. Thanks for any input. Once again, Not For Sale.
  12. Does anyone have an AR upper vice block I could use to install a free float tube? If I damage it, I'll buy you a brand new one. Just don't want to buy one to use one time. Or if you perfer, I could come to your place and use it under your supervision. I could take it to the gunsmith but it's so simple to do I want to do it myself. Please let me know. Thanks. Charles.
  13. That's a lot of range bags. Thanks for all the input. I'm going to take 4-5 boxes of ammo, two muffs, two glasses, and that's it. I carry my guns in pockets, holster, and cases. I don't see any need for taking extra magazines, if the SHTF at the range I think I won't be alone. I want a bag that has compartments in the middle to seperate the ammo and muffs and keep them apart with a little padding. I want to carry the glasses in seperate compartments to keep from crushing them. I've seen bags at sporting good stores that are all open in the middle. No seperation. 3-4 center compartments would be perfect with a couple of side zippers for the glasses.
  14. No calls back, but an e-mail came today. They say no record of a cancellation. That's very bad office management. I called with the cancellation, and replied to Two seperate e-mails with cancellation. The e-mail today said if I don't want it, send it back, and I would be credited. I used a debit card, so when I call the bank I'll get their info. They want me to pay shipping both ways! This company is a joke and I would recommend staying away from them!
  15. As long as it's been, those e-mails are long gone.
  16. Wanna carry 4-5 boxes of ammo, Two ear-protect's, Two sets of glasses. That's about it. What's a good range bag with compartments for this? Don't want to crush my glasses with my ammo or muffs.
  17. Uh-Oh. So is that Foosball Bobby.
  18. I received an e-mail saying that my P238 trigger was shipped and my card was charged. This order was cancelled about a year ago. Originally my order was taken over the phone and I was told it would ship out in a week. A week later I got an e-mail saying it would be shipped in 6 weeks, that's when I cancelled the order. I received another e-mail asking if I wanted to continue the order or cancel. I replied cancel. Another e-mail came about continue or cancel, I replied Cancel the order again. So now out of the blue, my card was charged and the trigger is shipped. Anyone else have any say on this or about Customized Creations? This really steams me up. They might have good products, I don't know, but their office situation is very bad and must be unorganized.
  19. I had the Model 5. Great rifle and no problems. The flash hider is threaded 1/2"X36 like a 9mm. Congrats on the purchase.
  20. Darn good thing I don't drink. Well maybe the occasional YooHoo will get my blood pumping! Terry, your on. I'm a pilot. The last Bonanza I flew was a V-tail, 235R out of M91. Like your avatar. Yours? Well darn. This post made it 101.
  21. Do I get a Bozo Button or a Cookie?
  22. I always have my 238 in my back pocket. In the pocket holster, it looks like a wallet and have never been asked about it. I don't worry about carrying in places at all because nobody knows I have it. If your worried about the caliber, shoot twice. One .380 should stop anyone. Try the PM9 before you buy, I couldn't stand that trigger. If you use a smooth trigger pull, you never know when it's going to go bang.
  23. Find a range that rents Glocks. I did to compare my 1911 side by side, handling and shooting. Still have the 1911 and will never own a Glock. See if someone around you has one and will let you shoot it. I think you will stick with the XD, but find out for yourself or you'll always have that itch to try a Glock. I also prefer my XD over the Glock not only for the fit and feel, but the grip safety is another piece of mind while carrying. People who have the Glock swear by them because it fits them. Try one out yourself and see if it fits your style and feel. It's all about personal preference, not others opinions. Most ranges that have the HCP class should rent a Glock.
  24. Ok. I'll go with 25 and blue Loc-tite. I have red also, but I'd never be able to remove it again. I imagine the low torque value with Loc-tite is to releave stress. Thanks for the help.
