Does anyone see this as a helpful stance for our 2nd amendment? I believe it would be peaceful. If it wasn't, it would be very bad for gun rights. The people who would protest it don't have guns anyway. Just thinking outside the box.

How have you reacted personally? Bought guns? Mags? Ammo?
flyanything replied to hipower's topic in General Chat
Nope. Haven't bought or sold. I figure by the time this all blows over I'll be needing some more ammo though. I'll be shooting as normal. -
News channel 2 mentioned a possible assault rifle ban coming as soon as January. What exactly would that mean? Would all AR's, AK's, ect. be an NFA item. High capacity mags NFA? Have to pay for a $200 tax stamp and wait 6 months for approval for one magazine? Just wandering if anyone has an idea.

I've entered every month for two years and never get emails. It would be great if I did, I would think I won.

My wife is out of work and desperately seeking employment in the Nashville area. She has 26 years of administration experience. If you are, or know someone looking for a reliable employee, please send me a pm. Thank you.

Want to build a suppressor.
flyanything replied to flyanything's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Great. Thanks for the info. It will be for .308. I'll be in touch when I get ready to proceed. -
If I want to build my own. Do I go to a class 3 dealer to do the tax stamp and get the paperwork done before I build or is this a possible option? Would I be permitted to build my own suppressor?

My first .308 was the DPMS LR-308. I quickly found that a lot of AR10 parts are not interchangeable like the AR15 platform. A lot do work with the DPMS lower. I believe Mega, JP, and maybe Hogan. Armalite isn't interchangeable with anything. If you get a FF tube, you have to get the specific barrel nut for the upper. I recently picked up the Sig 716. It's a great rifle and economically priced for a piston .308. Not really much I changed on it. Used a PWS brake, worked the trigger to sweeten it up, anti-walk pins, and a houge grip. It came with an ambi mag catch. That's it. It came with gas rings for some reason. Can run with or without. There's no spring on the firing pin like the manual shows. Sig says the manual was made before production of the rifle. Overall I love the AR10s. It actually has an impact and can reach out there. I won't be going back to the .223/5.56 and everyone that shoots my .308 has a big big grin.

13-year-old shot at Cheatham County WMA range
flyanything replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I sure wish there was somewhere closer and safer to shoot rifles. It's 45 minutes to go out there from Hendersonville. I would pay $30 for 3-4 hours of range time. -
13-year-old shot at Cheatham County WMA range
flyanything replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I was there a good part of the day and left just before sundown. There was an older fellow next to me and mine, a couple of groups to the left, a younger couple to our right, a couple of women to their right, and a group with a disabled vet (from what I heard) to the far right using the pistol targets. I never noticed a 13 year old boy there, but I didn't really look closely. The rangers did stop by around 2-3. The whole time we where, everyone was using proper commands. "RANGE COLD", "RANGE HOT". It was a big surprise to hear about this unfortunate accident. It must have happened right after we left. I really believe no firearms should be touched while the range is cold. I have had to make some individuals aware of the safety precautions there before. Maybe at least showing a handgun carry permit regulation should be enforced to show proof of some knowledge of firearms safety. -
My DPMS LR-308 runs flawless. Definitely more punch than the 5.56. I usually get 240 rds. for around $100. The only jams I've had were the Pmags hanging up. I oiled them a little and no more jams ever. You'll probably want a scope since you can reach out there. Overall great rifle for the price.

I've been looking for a Fastfire and was wandering if anyone has run across any used ones at their local shops? Anywhere between Nashville and Chattanooga. I'm going down there Thus and Fri. Thanks.

Would be nice, but I'd have to take the golf cart.

I have a black powder cannon. Shakes the ground 200 ft. away. As for recoil, the .50 was very mild. One awesome muzzle brake.

That was me.

Maybe 2.575? Hard to tell without any here. Gonna order them. -
My buddy was joking that I should bring out my cannon to compare the sound.

Get some electronic ear muffs yet?

Nice rifle!

Anybody know which Butler Creek flip covers fit the Trijicon Accupoint TR22. The objective is 56mm, but I don't know the eye size.

Darr's in Red Bank. Where's it at? I'll have to go check it out.
