I was really hoping Thompson would be "the one". But to be honest I hardly heard anything out of him. To be honest... I am pretty disillusioned with all politicians. I see them all as corrupt. They may not start out that way, and may have the noblest of intentions... but in the end they get chewed up by the political machines. They saw only what they ned to to get elected then they are held to do the bidding of those that have helped them gain power. (end rant) I would like to see Thompson at least as VP... (Which makes sense seeing that he really didn't attack any other canidates very hard.) but if this was his "plan" all along... well... then it was just a waste of money that could have been better used funding the real canidate's campaign.

I guess that would make it an EBH... Evil Black Horse?

I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out what he was (is) thinking. I was really pulling for him.

My goodness that is HILARIOUS!!

Now that is really a cool idea.

I think Oly makes some that use standard Glock 9mm mags with no modifications. (*But a May be wrong. It might be RRA.)

Snowing here in Franklin, little sleet as well... Social unrest can't be far behind.... roving hoards roaming the interstates, and looting by morning. (just a guess.)

Nothing like the boom of Black Powder... and the clean up! LOL! -
I miss the good old mail order days of the 80's. You used to be able to get all kinds of little kit guns from the Sportsman guide for little to nothing.

I always just used scalding hot water and some cleaner I had bought for my BP rifle. (Which I have been told soap works just fine.) No problems with rust on mine either. The BP Rifle is another story though. It has a little surface rust on the lock. It's an old Traditions I bought from gander mountain for $99 bucks about 14 years ago. I added a stainless steel nipple, and a plastic ram rod. I never babied it cuase I was carring it through the woods and had paid so little for it.

I'll have to check when I get home. I haven't pulled the trigger in about three or four years on the thing. My Step Dad bought it, and the whole set up (balls, powder, measure, caps, etc) for $125 from a cop he worked with about 12 years ago. The powder measure was already set, so I didn't ever pay much attention to it. I'll check it out. I had read to stay away from grease that contained animal fat because it would spoil and stink. But if you think about it, you clean them right after so I don't know what the difference would be. It's not like the old days when you had to wait for a decent stream and place to build a fire. LOL!! You should have seen my wife's face the first time I cleaned my BP rifle in the tub. LOL!!! Uh... I'm... uh... not allowed to do that anymore BTW. (Made perfect since to me though.)

Hmmm... crisco you say. I never tried that. I always used TC "Bore Butter". With mine it was always, powder, ball, and then filled it up with the Bore Butter. Think the most I have shot mine in one setting was about thirty shots. Shooting bowling pins one saturday. That was a lot of fun. You're making me want to get it out again. I kind of wish I had 5.5" barrel after seeing yours. It just looks like it would balance really well. (In fact you got me looking on the web at those again! LOL!) Don't forget a full report on how it shoots!

That is really sharp. And a great price! It remiinds me of mine but with a shorter barrel. Must admit... I think I like your better because of the shorter barrel! I like the cap and ball pistols too. I don't really enjoy the clean up though. I find myself not shooting it much unless I will be able to shoot it a lot. Sort of justifies the clean up time better.

Ahhhhhhhh... another .357 sig shooter! Welcome to the fold.

Click Here! Mine? over "Uzi". Or maybe "Cylinder side up!" LOL!!!

It appears that "gunguys" website is an anti-gun website.

Wouldn't water in Gallon milk jugs do just as well for a "rough" test. Like the guy does over at the Box-of-truth?? http://www.theboxotruth.com/docs/bot19.htm I think he uses Ziplock bags of water as well sometimes.

Wooo Hooo! Another HK USPc user! LOL! I would still like to have a USPc CT in .45... but I have other things on the list first. I've just always used them in the past with what I carried. So I guess I just usually grab them first. Easy to find as well. Since I posted this I continue to carry Gold Dots out and about. The Car-bons are in a another mag that is marked on the bottom. Molonlabetn had mention they fragment quickly... so I thought they would be good to grab while in the house. (I could be wrong.)

The moving targets alone are worth the drive for me. (45 minutes one way.) I just love those things.

One in the chamber, decocked, safety off... (This has been a recent change, I used to keep the safety on.) At home... no loaded weapons left unattained. I don't live in a high crime area, my drive is a thousand feet long, and I have a dog outside. (I'm sure some find this foolish.) I believe should I need to, I can load my weapon and chamber a round quickly. I also have two small kids.

I think you really hit on it "Mars". It is such a personal, evolving choice that there isn't a "one sure answer" for anyone. Plus I'm envious of your P7M8! I've only heard great things about those.

Also none are made in the US. They are all imported (correct me if I am wrong). As well as all are sent to a different facility for their quality control checks. I'm not knocking a XD. Not at all. They are fine. I see H&Ks for better or worse like a Mercades. The cost of ownership is higher over all (as in buying magazines) but they hold pretty good resale value (for a gun). I'd rather have an XD than a H&K if it fit my hand better. It's all really a personal choice. I have palyed with the 2000hk. If I had the $800 I would be tempted to buy one, but since I already have a USP Compact I can't really justify the exspense. I would be more tempted to buy a baby glock in .357 sig and a few extra mags. Price, perceived value, quality are all subjective, and relative to the buyer. I try not to suggest one "brand" over another. I usually advise buying something that fits your hand best, and will do what you want it to.
