  1. I have a CMMG M4LEP Piston AR and I've put 500 or so rounds through it with no hiccups. It runs clean and cool as hell and it's dead accurate.
  2. Macs and Glocks...sigh.
  3. Thank you for that, I tagged it for Best of Craigslist.
  4. Wow, I need to make friends with you Hero Gear guys...lol. Can I get a complimentary P90 when I get my Aimpoint this summer?
  5. I almost bought a FNP-45 for my first pistol. Probably will get one eventually.
  6. Well, google has gleaned to me that this must mean that jumping out of a great big plane with a great big machine gun is not that pleasant.
  7. +1 The Edgehill area is pretty tame. I worked in all those areas of town disconnecting cable when I was 19-20 and the guys that are scared of Edgehill would be terrified. And I went there to tell the people, "Hey, you Comcast $300 in overdue cable bills. You don't have $300? Then, I'm disconnecting your cable." No, I didn't have a gun. Anyway, campus carry is a big deal. I go to TSU, which is in the middle of all the areas that TMMT mentioned and I feel like school is the place where I need a gun the most. A couple weeks ago there was a shooting in the middle of the day at 28th and Clifton and that's where a lot of students, including myself, go to eat lunch on a regular basis. It's insane to take our defense away especially at a school surrounded by low-income areas with serious drug/gang problems.
  8. Wow, that's really impressive. I'd like to take a class at that training facility...
  9. I was just talking to my wife about this the other night... This video was hilarious. Guys, don't be so polarized. The only bias you need is one towards logic, don't let your silly holdbacks keep you from enjoying humor.
  10. I know a lot of black people, see them on a daily basis, and *gasp* am even related to a few, but I seem to miss time where they are championing individuals with bigoted philosophies. Sure there are radicals like Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Louis Farrakhan who say some outrageous things, but not all black people subscribe to these philosophies. I'd go so far as to say as most black don't subscribe to them. Now, regardless of who is saying hateful intolerant things, it is wrong. If, for some reason, famous black people saying these things do not get criticized as badly as famous white people, it doesn't make it any less wrong in either case. Statistically speaking, more lower class and minority murderers go to prison than wealthy white murderers. Does this mean that the lower class and minority murderers aren't getting justice? No. It means the wealthy white murderers are not getting justice. All of the murderers should go to prison, regardless of color or status and in the same scheme, all of the bigots should be criticized, regardless of color or status. As far as being offended goes, I can understand being offended at someone referring to non-whites as "muds", for example. The term "muds", I believe, is short for "mud people", which is a term used amongst the Christian Identity movement to describe the impure non-white races, who do not have souls. I personally was not offended because I can't take the man seriously, but I can see the potential for someone to be taken aback by the insinuation that their entire race is a bunch of soulless mongrels. That's my 2 cents, anywho.
  11. Do you know the name of the club? Is there any way I could get an email address or a phone number?
  12. I don't think this is Hoselton Ventures. It's definitely in Cumberland Springs. I think this is it on google maps: turkey creek rd, tullahoma, tn - Google Maps ignore where it says turkey creek, that was just in the search field when I grabbed the link. Is Hoselton pretty good though?
  13. Hopefully your coworker doesn't have any children 1.) Because she couldn't protect them and 2.) People that dumb shouldn't reproduce.
  14. I'd keep the CZ 52, personally. The 7.62x25 round has excellent penetration for a pistol and is fairly cheap as well. Also, CZ has a much better track record than KelTec.
  15. I was out cycling with my wife and her folks and we rode by this nice looking gun range with a bunch of covered shooting lanes. It was on Cumberland Springs road. Do any of you guys know anything about this range? My father-in-law wants to get back to shooting more often, but he doesn't want to do the 40min drive out to Terry Walden's place.
  16. So if I bought 10 tons of chicken livers and dumped them all up and down I-440 it would be totally cool since they naturally compost?
  17. What do you guys think about an SKS?
  18. My input: Beck is worthless...as are all the other pundits. Also: About the Mormon comment: kinda inappropriate, but I personally think all of the religions are stupid, some moreso than others, but there is something to be said for standing up for what you believe in. I don't think I've ever met a halfassed Mormon, and they are all unnaturally nice.
  19. You lucky duck. Mine was like 89.99 days.
  20. I just got my MTAC a week and a half ago and it has been awesome. I carry a really heavy pisol and I can hardly notice it when I'm standing. When I'm sitting it's noticeable, but not uncomfortable unless I just ate a whole lot. The greatest thing about it, to me, is the fact that you can draw quickly and reholster easily whilst seated.
  21. With that budget, I'd look into CMMG's Bargain Bin, DelTon, or Doublestar. I have an AR and it's a pretty neat piece of machinery for sure. Going from wanting a bolt action to a semi is kind of a big step, though, are you sure it's what you want?
  22. I think I recall reading somewhere that some, if not most, carbine classes advise against rimfire and pistol caliber carbines for their classes. Is this not true?
  23. Hey guys, I couldn't decide whether this should go here or in Tactics and Training, but since it's about carbines and this board gets more traffic, I put it here. Anyway, I know that for a typical carbine class most guys use an AR-15 or an AK, but what else would be appropriate. I need to get a rifle for my wife, so cheaper options are mainly what I'm thinking of, but I'm just fishing for info right now. Off the top of my head I can think of: AR-15 AK-47/74 SU-16 Saiga Mini-14 SKS Please discuss the notable merits of the less usual ones or specific models that you would not recommend and why.
