  1. This is laughable. I can't wait til they ban knives and blugeonings and chokings take their place. How can anyone believe that the human desire to be violent can just be removed by taking away weapons?
  2. How does a person with a speech impediment like that get put as the narrator for anything?
  3. It would be nice if there were more militias that didn't have some kind of "agenda". I'd like to have a group that would practice various skills a few times a year and be in contact in case of an emergency whether it be a natural disaster, mainland attack, or government subjugation. I don't want to have meetings to talk about how Obama is Satan's messenger, or how Blacks and Mexicans are ruining White Christian America, or how Muslims are going to blow us all up because they hate our freedom.

I just love seeing what new iTrend the new year brings. Seriously, how much can you love spending money on a name? "Hey guys, check out my new Ferrari! It does 0.9g on the skidpad and 0-60 in 5 seconds FLAT." "That's pretty cool. How much was it?" "$300k." "Wtf."
  5. Shot at, never shot. Had 4 guys run through my front yard shooting pistols in Murfreesboro while my wife and I were sitting on my front porch. Wife thought it was fireworks, I didn't. I drug her behind a wall as fast as I could and picked up a brick. As soon as the coast was clear, I got our asses inside and I loaded my 1-shot 12ga. Called 911 twice and nobody ever came. Lovely time, I assure you.
  6. That story is too weird to be true.
  7. I need this gun. Holy cow.
  8. I've got a CMMG M4LEP. It's cool, clean, and it does what it's supposed to do. I haven't done a carbine class with it or anything, but for regular range use it is quite sufficient.
  9. I just got a CZ 75BD that I carry. Very high quality workmanship. Full size gun, 17rd magazine, and I carry it without issue (I'm 5'8" 175lbs for reference). I'd say the PCR would be the best carry option since it maintains the same form factor of the 75 series with a slightly shorter grip and barrel and aluminum instead of steel frame. I went with the full size because I'll be using mine at the range fairly frequently.
  10. Stay away from Cheatham WMA. It's like a special ed classroom combined with a gunshow. If you do go, get good directions, and be prepared to be flagged pretty much the whole time you are there.
  11. Was that range they were shooting at in TN?
  12. Exactly, the school can ban inappropriate clothing, since I believe all schools have some rule like that, but outside of that kind of thing, people are free to make whatever kind of statement they want, however offensive it may be.
  13. Yeah, REAL MEN love the Klan.
  14. Hate to ruin the surprise, but nothing today either. Guess I get to go out of town unarmed. Lovely.
  15. Nothing today either. I hope I get it before I go on my trip...
  16. I didn't get mine either. Here's what I've been able to do since the 18th though: Ordered my pistol from Bud's guns on the 23rd or 24th. Drove to FFL in Manchester to pick up pistol on 27th. Ordered new grips, two 17rd mags, mag loader, and holster all from different companies on 28th. Decided to sell the two 10rd mags that came with the pistol after getting the two 17rd mags. Sold them on CZforumsite.info. Shipped them to California. Bought two more 17rd mags after I shipped the 10rd'ers, got them in the mail today. I did all of this in the time that it has taken so far for the state to give me something that I paid for and that they have already "issued". Keep in mind folks, that the issue date is the date that determines when you have to renew it. So the time between when it is issued and received is time that you have paid for. What a load of crap.
  17. We get it, you're old and I am younger than you. Unless you are cuddling up against someone else who is naked, you benefit nothing from being naked. If you have trouble keeping your pack dry for some reason, then maybe a synthetic bag is for you, or you could even just get a dry bag. Whatever, enough internet pissing contest for me.
  18. Jeez, disregard everything in this guy's post. Down beats synthetic. Don't get wet, it's simple. I've been on tons of wet trips and have never had a problem. Sleeping naked will not keep you warmer. (http://www.backpacker.com/gear/ask_kristin/52) I'm not sure if the guy is saying "piece" as in tent/backpack/sleeping bag, if so he is right. Each one will be about $100 for a quality job. Quality counts more than anything in the mountains. If you try a harsh weather trip with crap gear, you can seriously die.

Buy some padlocks, pick those. Padlocks make most door locks look like a joke. You only need a rake, a hook, and a tension bar. Then when you get better, get a plug spinner and a diamond. All the other stuff is for pros. Also, if you can get the thick handled picks, those are very nice, the thin metal ones will dig into your hands after an hour of hard picking.
  20. Do what you think is right. Your country will strip you of your freedom and humanity if your "right" doesn't align with theirs, but that is your choice. This is the way the world has always worked.
  21. I've made the mistake of using a 10 degree rated Slumberjack poly sleeping bag in cold temperatures. Bad idea. My suggestion is to get a down sleeping bag. And for anywhere anytime in TN, you will be fine with a 0 to 15 degree down bag. I had a 10 degree Marmot bag in the Roan Highlands at 5,500ft+ w/40mph winds and I was comfortable enough to sleep. If you plan on getting rained on or whatever, you should get a bivy sack or a tent to sleep in, but be sure that the comfort rating on a poly-fill bag (if you are a fit/lean person) will likely be about 20 degrees too warm. Trust a person who has been in the cold mountains quite a few times with a poly fill bag, go with down. Don't try to skimp on the sleeping bag. AND ALWAYS GET A SLEEPING PAD OR YOU WILL DIE IN YOUR SLEEP.
  22. This whole process is bull:poop:. No legitimate entity could stay in business providing the level of service we are getting from the state on these permits. 90 days is ridiculously long time to wait for something like a carry permit. The whole "printers" excuse is also incredulous. You can get your driver's license at the center the day that you go there, but the HCP's, which there aren't even 1% as many printed per year, have to be sent to some special "printers"? Yeah, ok. I was issued on the 18th after applying on 10/23, it should not take more than 3 business days for the damn permit to be in my mailbox after I'm approved. The state just doesn't give it's workers any impetus to work at a reasonable rate. :wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall:
  23. I've got a CMMG M4LEP, and while I haven't put thousands of rounds through it, I have disassembled it and looked over it a million times and put a couple hundred rounds through it, and it's top notch. With a direct gas impingement rifle, you would want to just make sure that you have a staked gas key, really (I'm not sure if the bargain bin rifles do.)
  24. Just went to cool springs and got 5 boxes. The sale is still going and they've got 15 boxes left.
  25. Been carrying a Kershaw Leek daily for about 8 years. This knife's been through hell and back. I lost a screw once and the spring started to wear out (I compulsively opened and closed it) so I called them and they had me send it back and they cleaned it, sharpened it, replaced the screw and spring, and sent it back to me in about a weeks time free of charge. All I had to do is ship it to them. Best knife and best knife company I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. (not my knife, but the same model, too lazy to break out the camera)
