  1. In that case, it sounds like you got a good deal. Congratulations!
  2. My personal experience with this sort of issue is easy. If I wait until tomorrow to buy it, someone else will buy it out from under me, confirming my thoughts that it was a good deal. If I go back and ponder it long enough, I'll buy it and end up feeling like I paid too much, thus it was really not a deal! Probably doesn't help much, but maybe it helps you to know you're not the only one who can't pull the trigger on what appears to be a good deal!!
  3. My BIL has put them on his Glock 23. I went to the range with him when he first installed his. He actually shot much better with them than he did previously with his old stock Glock sights. At the time, I also was shooting a G23 with stock sights. I simply could not get used to the size of the XS front sight, and shot, ok but not great. I was much more accurate with the stock sights. He came by the house recently and I asked him how he likes them now that he's had them for almost six months. Says he loves them, which seems to follow about 8/10 users from what I've read on different forums. Oh, yeah. My BIL is 58 years old and wears bi-focals, FWIW.
  4. For what it's worth, I'd buy that same gun back from Crnchy right now, sight unseeen. I honestly can't say that about every gun I've ever owned, but I never had a moment's trouble from that P3AT. The long trigger is a safety factor, but I found it to be very accurate to 10 yards, even with the snappy recoil. YMMV
  5. My Step Son has inherited an old Remington Model 17 .20 gauge pump shotgun. I've cleaned it up a bit and it seems to be in good working order as far as the action. Two questions, first and most importantly, is there a way to know for sure this shotgun will safely handle the ammo currently on the market? Secondly, provided it does work properly and safely, what is a good home defense load for a .20 gauge shotgun and where is the best place to find it? Thanks in advance for any input or suggestions.
  6. Bryan, You may want to check out M1911.org website and looking under the RIA forum. they are a very informed group of guys and can also put you in touch with RIA's rep Ivan. I had a mil spec RIA 1911 for a while and you're right, the sights leave a lot to be desired! Good luck!
  7. Some owners have discussed doing the "buff and fluff" on their Keltecs. Does anyone have any pics you can post of your PF9 after the buff and fluff?
  8. Barewoolf, I loved the little P3AT, I just grew weary of the constant search to find reasonably priced ammo. I read the article you're making reference to. In fact, the article will probably do nothing but make .380 pistols all the more popular and the ammo that much harder to find! lol...thanks, like we needed that!
  9. It's funny you should say that. I have about reached the same conclusion. I sold my P3AT this weekend, essentially just so I could go buy another small gun to carry when I can't carry my Glock. But, after some relatively shallow soul searching, I'm about to decide to just make the Glock my carry weapon and forego the BUG for now. I think I'll just invest the money on more range time, more ammo and some good night sights and another mag or two for the Glock. ....unless I get a really good deal on a PF9 or a Kahr PM9..... :-)
  10. Smith, You have had two of them, but no longer own one? any particular reason why you chose to sell/trade them? Just curious. thanks.
  11. So you can shoot +P ammo from them?
  12. I'm interested in feedback from actual PF9 owners. I'd like a small 9mm to carry when I'm not carrying my Glock 22. I don't have the money for a Kahr PM9, which I understand is an outstanding gun, but a little pricey for me. How long have you owned the gun, pros and cons, as well as suggestions for how you carry yours. I'm considering one as a pocket gun, is it too big for most dress pants pockets? Would you recommend something other than the PF9? Perhaps a .38 snubby? I see from another current thread that some are experiencing light strikes, is this common? thanks in advance for your feedback.
  13. I live in Memphis with several close friends who are Ole Miss alums. One of the main reasons Cutcliffe was allegedly fired there was because they did not feel like he was able to recruit SEC caliber players. Guess we'll see.
  14. Skip Holtz is apparently going to South Florida.
  15. I own a Crossbreed Supertuck and bought it directly from Crossbreed. I tried to shop around, but ended up buying from them. The shipping was fast and the only small problem I experienced was handled by e-mail very quickly and without any hassle. Overall, I would rate them a five star company to deal with in sales and service. In addition to this, the holster is the most comfortable IWB I've ever used.
  16. +1 for the Super Tuck by CrossBreed. I've had mine for just over six months for my Glock 19 and it's extremely comfortable. I took a tactical pistol class two nights last week and found no problems drawing from concealment. If I had anything I'd do different after taking this class, it would be to order mine with the combat cut on the leather panel. I wore a blister on the knuckle of my strong hand scrapping against the leather as I reached for my grip on the pistol while in the holster, over and over and over. Otherwise, I'd happily make the same purchase again!
  17. Just for the sake of argument, I'd try to locate one of the .22 Conversion Kits. I'm also a Glock 19 guy and the cheapest ammo I can find is Federal 115 grain FMJ and they are $9.00 per box, still a lot more expensive than .22 ammo. I have a Ruger MK III .22 and the earlier poster was right, it's not really similar to your Glock, the grip angle is more similar to the 1911 A1. If you can find a .22 conversion kit, you'd be spending more trigger time with your gun, the one you intend to carry on your person. I think the conversion of your 9mm to a .22 for target practice is a good consideration. All that being said, having another gun around isn't all bad, either. if you found a .22 conversion kit later, you could always sell the .22 pistol to help pay for the cost of the conversion kit. either way, it's a no lose situation. Good luck regardless of what you decide.

    22lr Handgun

Congratulations. That's a very nice gun. You'll probably get a lot of enjoyment out of shooting it. It's very accurate and on top of that, cheap to shoot. Enjoy!
  19. I have both for my G19 and depending upon my wardrobe use them accordingly. I'm wearing the Smart Carry tonight under my work out gear and it's very comfortable. Drove to the store earlier and it's no problem getting in and out of the car as well as sitting for extended periods of time. It is a little slow on the draw and takes a bit of getting used to. I do like the fact it has a place for my spare mag. My Cross Breed SuperTuck is a dream. I wear it with almost any pair of pants. Wore it to an outdoor festival yesterday with my wife and sister-in-law and walked around with it "tucked" all day and I had no print whatsoever. With the SuperTuck as with most IWB holsters, remember to add another inch or two for comfort when you buy your slacks in order to allow for the extra space the gun and holster will take up.

  21. +1 for the Cross Breed Super Tuck. I got one for my G19 and love it. I bought it back in July and one of the metal keepers got a little sprung from slipping it off and on over my belts. I just sent an e-mail to them advising them of the problem. They wrote back almost immediately and I had two replacements plus hardware mailed out to me by the end of the same week. Now that is great service!

    advice needed

Congrats! You made a very good purchase. Any thoughts about what sort of holster rig are you going to use? I'm a big guy (6'2" 255lbs) and my two favorite for my Glock are the Smart Carry for deep conceal and the Super Tuck IWB by Cross Breed. My $.02.
  23. Looking back, all of my guns which I've parted with over the years have ended up being a lot like old girlfriends. Most of the problems with them which led to our separations were always at least partially my fault. I just set my expectations too high. In the end I didn't really dislike them, we just needed to see other people...
  24. FWIW, I sold one just like that back in January for just under $500 and the guy was giddy to get it. Of course, this was when you could not get a new Glock to save your life. I think the market has caught up a little now, so the prices may have stabilized on used ones just a little.
  25. Hello from our state's most violent city. My name is Robert. I was happy to learn from another forum (USCCA) that this site existed. I am hoping to learn more about what is going on in our state regarding important issues such as ccw and 2nd Amendment Rights, as well as speaking with other gun owners who live around the state. I am former LEO and now work as an investigator for a large p&c insurance company. I own several guns, but my two carry guns are a Glock 19 and a Keltec P3AT. My favorite place to shoot near here is the TWRA range in Bartlett, TN. The hours of operation are a little odd, but the guy who runs the place is a good guy and the price is very affordable.
