  1. That's good to know. I assume that if we pay for the gun through the sender, there will be no invoicing so no tax issues. Is this correct? I've also been meaning to stop by some time and check out your shop.
  2. Have you ever asked why?
  3. Obviously. For the life of me, I just can't see why some didn't appreciate his eclectic sense of humor. I have done business with him, as well as some of the "other" vendors here and it was as pleasurable if not more so for much less of a drive. There obviously is some real good ole boy/home cooking going on. He will truly be missed here, at least by me. TGO will not be the same. After all, remember "he who not be named", he came right out and pissed EVERYONE off for days before being banned, but I digress. Back on point, I have ordered allot of guns from Buds gun shop in Ky and used Academy of Personal Protection off of Murfreesboro Rd to receive them for me purely because they are less than 5 minutes from my office. They have been charging me $35 for one, $50 for two and that includes TICS. Lately though, I've been deciding what I want to buy and giving Guns and Leather the opportunity to sell me the same product at Buds price. So far, they are 5 for 6 on matching or beating Bud's price excluding Tax and TICS but hey, I'm not going to hold TN sales tax against them so I'll pay a little more to support a local. Plus, as I have said in the past, they are the Best Gun Store around, in my opinion. Dennis and the family are locals who run a good business. Their selection my be 2nd to the other big gun shop South of town but not by far and their prices are $100+ cheaper most of the time. Talking about well worth the drive to Greenbrier.
  4. I suspected such. Sooo, one might as well not use JHP's??????
  5. Ok, maybe I'm showing my ignorance here but why is the penetration LESS in Bare Gelatin than that with Clothed Gelatin in these stats?
  6. Yes it went very well. I've been out of pocket all weekend but wanted to say it was very nice meeting Justaguy and Okey and enjoying a bite in what I now know to be a safe and gun friendly environment. I encourage all to patron the Sonic in Old Hickory whenever you get a chance.
  7. As I was reminded Friday night by the owner of the Sonic in Old Hickory who told us his manager put two rounds of .45 JHP in the Bad Guy yet he still managed to run away. Of course shot placement was an issue.
  8. Yes, in Lakewood. I never knew Old Hickory Blvd turned into Robertson Rd there. Typical Nashville Road Naming.
  9. I just had a funny thought, what a rude awakening a scumbag would have tonight if he attempted an armed hold up of the Sonic at 7:00....
  10. I actually think it's pretty cool that he sent this out but you are probably right on when you said And I'm sure his departments screw up plays heavily upon your regard for him but try to loosen the hat and appreciate his willingness to at least pretend to support us, the HCP holders of Tennessee.
  11. 7:00 works for me. I'll be in a Marroon Button down shirt (to hide my H&K), and in a 2004 Gray Toyota 4Runner.
  12. I say let's do it anyway. Even if he's not there, we can let the employees know we came to show our support for his heroics. What time?
  13. Good Thinking. Call and explain our situation. Understand that they will not be able to tell you if he is working or not but let them know we are coming in support of him and his actions. Maybe even give them the link to this thread.
  14. You are not going to believe this but the one and only time I sent a pistol to S&W, I sent it out on a Thursday, next day air of course and it arrived at my Office on Tuesday afternoon! Un believable!
  15. So Friday it is. What time is good for everyone?
  16. Lets do it. I'm free both Friday and Saturday nights. Someone pick a night.
  17. I think we should have a TGO meet and greet at this Sonic just to show our support of the Assitant Managers right to defend his and the lives of his employees. Just a thought.
  18. I'd meet you between my house and yours (Cooks ) and give you $300 FTF as well, but Joe WAS here first.
  19. As I've stated in the past, they are IMHO the best gun shop around. Their prices are reasonable, they will deal from time to time, their selection on Handguns, shotguns and rifles is second only to Franklin Gun Shop. Now that they've added Jeff to their staff, they are truly a one stop shop.
  20. I've had one of these (mini gun vault, without alarm) for 10 years or so. Sits under the bed for the wife. It is simple to program and can be opened by "feel". I have no complaints however it is a little large for a vehicle IMHO. I have been considering one of these for under the truck seat though: http://www.shopberetta.com/e2wItemMain.aspx?functionId=009000008&parentID=019001211&parentLink=012000100:008000252:008000251

    New Plinker

Congrats on the new plinker. I have put a few hundred rounds through them and they are cool looking. I just got my wife out to the range yesterday for the first time in 15 years. Had intentions of her shooting my G34 (9mm) but after a few magazines, she complained about the recoil. I could see she wasn't really having too much fun. Thank goodness I brought my Walther P22 and a couple hundred rounds of cheap .22 ammo. Once she got through 2 mags, I could see she was liking it. Although her grip and stance weren't the best, she was liking it. I went on to the next lane and let her have at it. Then Frank (yes ETS Frank) stopped by and helped her with her stance (Weaver- and no doubt cause she was dressed in pink and looking kind of hot ). Although it didn't help her with accuracy, she did seem to feel more confident. Afterwards, she said she had fun and will go back. I told her I knew someone who had a pink P22 with her name written all over it but she replied "I'm sure you have enough guns for us both"..... Damn, she's quick. Anyway, like Easily said, it's more about building their confidence and having fun then anything else. By the way, Frank does have the coolest toys!
  22. I wonder what would happen if Chicago used the money they'd spend on fighting the SCOTUS descision on increased police presence? That and knowing grandma might be armed might just lower the murder rate. Any way, what their doing sure aint workin.
