  1. For years I have called it Bill Goodmans Junk & knife show......
  2. And I promise, the bad guys won't like you a bit!
  3. Nice, real nice. A couple of questions though. First, is that a PT1911? Second, what did Jeff charge for the change (parts + labor)?
  4. Damn fine looking pistol!
  5. Thanks, I'll check into that. It shoots great so I'm not in a big hurry but it does kind of bother me. I may even call S&W as it is soo new and now only has 200 rounds through it.
  6. Jeff Walle is in fact at Guns & Leather in Greenbrier now.
  7. I bought a S&W 1911 (model 108285) last month and love it. I do have one question. The trigger wobbles around. It just appears to be really loose when the hammer is down and not quite as loose when the hammer is cocked. Is this unusual for a 1911? Anyway to tighten it myself or is this something for a gunsmith?
  8. Ok, What exactly does ND stand for?

    Glock owners...?

Added a KKM stainless barrel and butt plug (darn that sounds bad ) to my G34.
  10. Nicely put and the reality is, as stated earlier, that no matter what type of gun one carries, it is indeed better than no gun!
  11. 99% of the time I carry a HK USPc (.40 S&W) Variant 1 with bobbed hammer-safety off always concealed. It has just the right size and capacity for my liking. I apparently am unusual (or so I've been told and not really surprising ) in that I carry in the small of my back in a cheap old Uncle Mikes in the pants holster. I find it very comfortable even when driving and constantly forget it is there. It is a little difficult to re-holster without removing the holster all together. Retention is the only other possible issue with this holster and although the reach behind and under my shirt draw takes some practice it is extremely stealth like and only prints when squatting or bending over. When walking with the wife, I usually carry a Walther PPK and sometimes carry my little Walther P22 if the short barrel is installed. As I mentioned before, the laser mounted to the P22 keeps the dog entertained but really pisses off the wife . Occasionally, I'll pull other toys out (P220, P226, S&W 1911 etc.) and carry them but usually in the colder months since they are a little bigger.
  12. And he states it so casually.....
  13. Looks like it is at noon, or should I have said "high noon"
  14. +1 on the M.J. Police department. Hard to beat the price. I've been through the course twice, once when I got my permit 6 years ago and then I went through it with mom so she could get her permit last December.
  15. Unfortunately, it was a little more than a dollar and I forgot all about the fish sandwich.
  16. I'm trying to get the pictures to come through
  17. Took a Saturday afternoon drive to Winchester’s famous Hero Gear after Joe had enticed me earlier in the week in the Vendor Section with a push on 1911’s. Dan made the drive well worth it. I got to fondle some nice pistols and He just happened to have the exact S&W Model 1911 I was looking for with Novak sights as my first entry into the 1911 madness. Not only did Hero Gear meet the lowest price I could find in three states, but I also get $100 back from S&W. Thanks guys, I think…….
  18. Thanks. I kind of thought the same thing. I'd seen both side by side and other than sights and grips, the price was $100 more for the TLE.
  19. Nice. Excuse my ignorance regarding Kimbers, but other than the adjustable sights and grips, is there any difference between the two? I'm in the market for a 1911 and really like the SIS but haven't decided for sure yet.
  20. I wanted the very same thing a year or so ago and ended up buying a G34. Though it is not compensated, It does have the 5.32" barrel and a 4.5 lb trigger. I also put in a KKM stainless barrel and the pistol is perfect for the range. Very little muzzle climb and recoil so I can't imagine it needing to be compensated. My mother, whom I've gotten to get her HCP, shot this during practice and to qualify and loved it. Her only problem was the usual initial limp wrist which caused 3 or 4 FTE's and the magazine was a little stiff for her to load up. I have a 33 round mag as well but rarely use it at the range.
  21. That's good to hear. It seems that people make a lot of fuss about a few problems a particular weapon may have had at some point in its past. I own a P22 that has been flawless except for a hammer repair in which Smith&Wesson did for free and returned within 4 days. My buddy owns a Mosquito that has also been flawless yet both pistols have a reputation of being "ammo particular" yet we've never had any problems shooting the cheapest we can find.
  22. I too have been contemplating a SIS for my first 1911 pistol. The serrations don't feel slippery to me at all and like Reef, I love the grips as well as the finish. I prefer the one without the rail but definitely want the 5" barrel. It will be for range use only. I have been a little hesitant because of the cost and the "reputation" as far as problems with some Kimber's and well, quite frankly, 1911's in general. I do want to add a 1911 to my collection and I do like the looks of this one as well as the Warrior but do go back and forth with the S&W's as they could save me a few hundred bucks. Decisions Decisions...
  23. What a pain
