  1. Does anybody have any .358 winchester in stock? Thanks
  2. For you guys that don't know TGO member John Wall, he is a great guy. I took the rifle to him to inspect. First thing he did was drop a 8mm bullet in the bore. It fell right thru. Then he broke out the head space gauges to determine the caliber. And sure enough it is 358. He checked over the rifle for me and said it was in very good condition. Now I just have to find some ammo and get out and shoot it. Thanks John.
  3. Model 1905-FN First Variation - no slide lock/safety lever. Grading 100% 98% 95% 90% 80% 70% 60% $575 $475 $375 $325 $275 $225 $175 Add 50% for factory nickel finish (nickel finish with blue trigger and blue safety lever) - if 95% condition or better. Add $500 for factory presentation case. Add $750 for Imperial Russian contract (crossed rifles marking on blue or nickel guns).
  4. Her is one more pic.
  5. I did recover the bullet. It went in a fairly steep angle about 4 " behind the front shoulder. The bullet punched thru a rib and opened up and created a rather large wound cavity. It squeezed between the bottom of the ribs on the other side and stopped just under the skin. I didn't have any way to weigh it but it looked like it was all there. Here is the interesting part. The deer ran about 40 yards and died. I process my own deer. When I started skinning the deer, I found more blood than i have ever found. There was a tremendous amount of blood between the skin and ribs on both sides. Pretty good performance in my opinion.
  6. The receiver is marked: ZBROJOVKA BRNO Then on the side it is stamped E 22 I tried to chamber a couple of different rounds. The bolt would close on a 308. It would not close on a 270 or 30-06. Also, I took a 340 Weatherby mag and put it in the end of the barrel bullet first. The 340 bullet still had wiggle room when inserted.
  7. Not sure. Where would it be marked?
  8. I have used them in my Kimber and they has fed great. It is also very accurate. I used it to take a doe at 15 yards.
  9. Bought this kind of on impulse. I saw it and thought it was cool so I bought it. This is my first rifle of this style. They guy said it is a BRNO mauser that was re-barreled to 358. I know nothing about these rifles. I can't even figure out how to get the cleaning rod out. I know a lot you guys have knowledge about these rifles. Anything you can tell me about this rifle, like how to get the cleaning rod out, approx age, history, would be appreciated.
  10. There is some pretty good advice in there...
  11. That was pretty interesting.
  12. You can buy two guns on one tics check. Tom still had to fill out the multiple gun purchase form and send it in. All ffl's have to, they just rarely say anything to the customer about it.
  13. That sucks man. When will you be able to go active duty?
  14. hey nsnate - what parks are you patrolling?

    Sig 232?

My dad has one and loves it. Never had any feeding or ejecting problems. Can be a little snappy with full power loads but overall very manageable.
  16. Accurate? I have never seen a cotton mouth rattler...
  17. I like the one where the monkey throws the car thief off the bridge. I really liked the last one where he had the shotgun.
  18. Outstanding! Great job.
  19. Jim Shockey, Monster Bulls, Dangerous Game just to name a few...

  21. Also sent you a pm. http://nashville.craigslist.org/spo/979836591.html I sold these once to an out of state buyer, and it turned out that they had some coating scratches that I didn't see. The guy returned them, so I'm reposting them at a reduced asking price. I will only sell locally this time, to make sure that the buyer can see what they are buying. These are some of the best optics made. These are the older style, but you can't beat the clarity. I also have a Swarovski neck strap that goes with them. $550 or resonable offer. Call Steve at 615-893-6393 or 615-497-4704, or e-mail.
  22. Damn. You guys are making me hungy.
  23. That sucks. Sounds like the last time I went out. One more week to get it done.
  24. Not yet. It is usually around march when I really get fired up.
