Jack this is not youtube. TGO is a place to learn about firearms, but it is not a place to lead someone down a road that could land them in prison. The consequences of keeping an unregistered machine gun were clearly stated in the thread. That dosent mean lets figure out how to skirt the law. Any illegal suggestions/advice will not be tolerated in this forum. If you would like to discuss this matter further send me a pm. The OP's question has been answered and the thread has went off course far enough so I'm closing it.

It is illegal to become a dealer just to buy post sample machine guns to enhance a collection. Please try not to give advice that is illegal.

Sorry to the OP, but I have to hijack for a minute because answers like this piss me off. Its is apparent that you have no idea what you are talking about. I'm not an assassin, a sniper, or a hitman and I have suppressors. Alot of my friends have suppressors and I dont think they are assassins, snipers, or hitmen. Educate yourself before you start running your mouth.

Not very good at all. Oh how I wish it would though.:down:

If its not in the registery then there is no way he can keep the gun. All machine guns that civilians can own had to be in the system before 19 May 1986. Anything after that or that wasnt ever registered before then is contraband in civilian hands. The gun can either be donated to a museum, demilled and turned into a parts kit to be sold, or made into a post 86 dealers sample. I know it sucks but thats how it is.

Best piece of info in this whole thread. It could have been registered but I doubt it. You can check with BATFE to see if it is in the registry. You have a few options if it isnt (donate to a museum, demil and sale as a parts kit), either way you will eventually need the help of a O7/SOT (Joe @Hero Gear).

If its going to be more of a range gun than a carry piece then I would go with the 19. But if its going to be your EDC then I would go with the 23.

That Smith in .45 is a very nice gun. Nice collection.

I know you have your two narrowed down. But for future trips check out Defeated Creek Camp Ground on Cordell Hull Lake and Dale Hollow Dam Camp Ground. I have camped at both of them many times and they are great. The trout fishing is great at a little creek that runs through the Dale Hollow camping area.

You better not piss her off. That Desert Eagle makes a big hole.

Lucky b*stard. Let us know how it shoots. -
From above. "Consumers in possession of a GSG 5 SD model with the original shroud in place on the firearm are now in violation of the NFA." In ATF's eyes its just like having an unregistered machine gun.

Tell me that in 5 years when you cant buy ammo anywhere and cant buy brass to reload it.

This just shows that an approval letter from the FTB isnt worth the piece of paper its printed on. They can go back and change their mind whenever they want to. Another example is the Akins Accelerator.

ATI posted this on AR15.com last week. To all retail customers: On January 2010 American Tactical Imports Inc received official notification from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and explosives that the original barrel shroud (aka: fake suppressor) supplied with your GSG 5 SD model must be replaced. It has been determined that this shroud is regulated under the National Firearms Act. American Tactical will provide a replacement shroud at no charge for each GSG 5 SD model sold or currently in inventory. Consumers in possession of a GSG 5 SD model with the original shroud in place on the firearm are now in violation of the NFA. To avoid continued violation of the NFA, ATI asks that all persons in possession obtain a replacement shroud as soon as possible. We anticipate arrival of the new shrouds to begin by the middle of February 2010. IMPORTANT: THE ORIGINAL SD MODEL SHROUD MUST BE RETURNED ACOMPANIED BY THE FIREARM SERIAL NUMBER BEFORE A REPLACEMENT SHROUD IS ISSUED. THE DIAMETER OF THE SD SHROUD IS 1-9/16â€. DO NOT RETURN THE SMALLER CARBINE SHROUD. WHAT TO DO: If possible return your old shroud to the dealer where purchased and show him this notice. The shroud will be returned to ATI along with a list of serial numbers from the guns that the shrouds were removed. ATI will send replacements to the dealer for pick up at your convenience; ATI will be sending replacements as fast as logistics allow. If your dealer is out of business or difficult to reach, or you purchased your gun used, from a consumer, return the shroud directly by US mail or UPS to American Tactical Imports Inc. 100 Airpark Drive Rochester, NY 14624. PLEASE TRY NOT TO CALL US. We will provide comprehensive information on our web site www.americantactical.us , and www.ar15.com or by e-mail to atiexchange@americantactical.us REMEMBER, INCLUDE THE FIREARM SERIAL NUMBER WITH EACH SHROUD OR A REPLACEMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This action IS NOT being instituted through any fault and is strictly due to NFA compliance. American Tactical will assume the responsibility to satisfy the requirements in an effort to minimize the impact on our customers and protect your investment. We at American Tactical Imports Inc. sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this unfortunate situation. Sincerely, Anthony DiChario President C.E.O. retailcandoc.021210 This is not for the regular GSG-5, it is for the one pictured below.

Congrats! Sending prayers for a happy and healthy baby. -
I have my "shooting stash" and my "saving stash". I never touch the saving stash unless I absolutely have to and then I replace whatever I used as fast as I can. Otherwise my stockpile will only get used if the zombies come.

I love mine. I have the dark earth frame with a black slide. It is real shooter too. Ameriglo makes night sights for the .45.

Great pics and awesome looking dogs.

I have seen alot of young people wearing Obama shirts. I dont think they really know the issues and some probably dont care. They just wear the shirt because it is the "in" thing to wear.

I found that site a few months back and I have laughed by ass off reading some of that stuff.

Sorry Mike. Both my Grandfathers (and Grandmothers) did/do play a huge role in my life. Maybe they can spend the Summer in TN with you.
