I have been thinking about getting a pair of Costas. Just kinda wanted some opinions of what you think about them? Are the 580 lenses worth the extra money? I have 3 pair of Oakleys but have been hearing how glass lenses are so much better so I though I would get a pair and see. The ones I am looking at are the Blackfins with the blue mirror lenses. That is a very nice set up. I love the USO but they get pricey quick. I wish more scope companies would start using 1/10 mil. adjustments.

I had to work all day. After work I had to meet one of my friends to pick up a set of KAC rails for a AR. Then came home and put the rails on. Messed around in the yard for a while. Then grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. Now just cruising the gun forums. Going to go to the gun show tommrow in M'boro. Its great to be alive and well in TN.

A few of my favorites are Cordell Hull Lake, Dale Hollow Lake, the Obey river, a deer stand in Robertson County, and Cades Cove on a mid Fall morning.

I dont know what you are going to take down there. But it is a major pain in the ass to shoot a machine gun there. From my experience the RSO's will be on you like white on rice. I dont know about a suppressor, SBR, or SBS. One experience was enough for me and didnt go back. This was at Stones River by the way.

Knob Creek is the weekend of April 9th. I dont know how many people go to it but just wanted to let you know. I'll but up there that weekend but Sundays work better for me. And +1 more for Owl Hollow.

FWIW, I follow NFA pretty close and I personally have never seen a transferable Glock 18 or transferable conversion in person or come up for sale. And everytime it is brought up on NFA forums the gereral consensus is that there are none. And this is not comming from Joe blow computer geek, it is from guys that have been in machine gun/NFA business longer than I have been alive. So when they say somthing I take their word for it. Now I am not going to say with 100% that there is no way that there couldnt be one that slipped in or used a Mac serial number to register a Glock or some funny business like that because I have heard that going on with some other types of guns (M249). I know there a a few transferable Beretta 93 machine pistols out there but they are $$$$$. All and all the NFA registry is so screwed up that we will never know what is truly on it. Hell even BATFE admits they cant even keep up with it.

I didnt even know they still made Red Dog. I remember my Dad drinking that stuff back in the day.

I wasnt bashing Colt. I was stating somthing that I believe is true, that the Colt name sells just as many guns as their quality does.

I have read this too. I was actually kinda shocked when I started see the reports of problems. I hope they can get the bugs worked out or there is going to be a whole lot of pissed off people.

Colt makes a nice 1911. But I dont think they are any better than a Springfield or a Kimber. And IMO no where near as nice as a Brown, Wilson, or Nighthawk. People will pay more for a gun just because it says Colt on the side. Name recognition has sold just as many guns for Colt as quality has.

I looked at the Lancer L5 mags this weekend at the gun show and I wasnt impressed at all. I dont know why they dont use the anti-tilt followers in them. I was playing with it and got the follower to to stick with the front down twice. I dont see where the improvement is over Magpul mags. I didnt buy one, but I plan to get one to actually shoot with and see how well it works.
