    Finally!

I am using AutoCad and Inventor(another AutoDesk program based on 3-D). I am not quite sure what i've got on my schedule this weekend, but I wouldnt' be opposed if I can swing it. I know tomorrow i'm gonna try to get out on the lake, but other than that...i'm not quite sure. I should know a rough schedule by later this evening, waiting to hear from my dad on possible plans. I'll keep an eye on how it plays out.

    Finally!

Well, After being unemployed for the past 8 months....I am now a part of the working class again and I just got through with my first work week today. I happened to find a machine shop about 20 minutes from my house which was considering hiring a new CAD drafter/designer. I went in and put in an application/resume. They called me back in the first time to talk with the General manager and the other drafter I would be working with. Then I was called back in to talk with the owner. The next day, I got a call from the owners wife telling me to be there Monday at 7am. And just like that, I was no longer unemployed! After my first week, I am really happy with this job, and excited about my future here. I really like the job itself alot better than the last place I was working, as well as the environment and co-workers. This, plus abit better money, fully covered health insurance paid for by the company, and just as good benefits(vacations and such) means a happy me. The company seems like it should be a real interesting job. They deal mainly with coal mining equipment. They completely recondition alot of equipment, as well as building equipment from scratch as well. Anyways, Just thought I would let you guys know what i've been up to and let you know the good news. Now hopefully I can get back to my interests(which includes shooting).
  6. Yeah, Some of us ended up at Hooters. We were wondering what had happened to ya. Wish you could have been there.
  7. Well, I enjoyed my first gunshow! I scored a brick of .22lr for $15, so I am happy. Would've definitely liked to of had an extra grand or so to spend and I would've came home with alot more, but whatdya gonna do? It was also good to see everyone, and meet some new people as well.
  8. I'm not really sure, didn't think about that. I know theres quite abit there in that area though, surely we could find something. There's also an IHOP, Great American Steak & Buffet, Cracker Barrell(just on the other side of 75)...just to name a few that Google shows.
  9. Not sure what all is on Clinton Hwy, but I know theres alot in that area. However there is a Red Lobster or Outback there on Mechants...depending on how "worth eatin'" you mean.
  10. So looks like i'll be joining you guys tomorrow! Since i'm gonna be driving a good hour to get there....would anyone be up for grabbing a bite to eat afterwords?
  11. I might try to make it down and join you guys if nothing comes up for Saturday. I should know by tomorrow evening.
  12. Sorry I wasn't able to make it today guys. I've come down with some kind of a cough that kept me up about all night last night. Hopefully if I can get some sleep tonight or tomorrow night, I may be able to make it down tomorrow or monday.
  13. See you guys there! Basically all i'll have set up is my Savage MKII, and you may see me shooting my M&P. I'll be driving a maroon fullsize GMC pickup, say howdy when you see me.
  14. Well, I don't know if i'll be there by 7am, but 8-9 wouldn't be out of the question. Anyone else?
  15. Saturday(start early) is fine with me. How does this sound with everyone else?
  16. I'm game for whatever day works best for the majority.
  17. Hey Guys, Haven't been around in awhile due to money issues(no money + no job = broke), however they've finally got this unemployment crap straightened out and i'm fixing to have to have a little bit of expendable cash, so I'm dying to get back down to Norris to burn some lead. Just wondering if any of you guys might be up for something sometime soon?
  18. I worked for 4+yrs at a local building supply designing their roof/floor trusses. Then before that I worked for Clayton Homes(aka Norris Homes) for 1yr in the engineering department as a designer. I haven't had any real help from the local job office. I actually just got done yesterday checking all of their online job listings again on the dept of labor site with no luck.
  19. I'm gonna bump this back up, as my unemployment is getting close to running dry. If anyone in the East TN area that may know of anything, I would really appreciate it if you would let me know. I'm pretty well to the point as I realize i'm going to have to settle for pretty well whatever I can get til something better comes along, so i'm not ruling anything out. So if someone may know of any openings, I would really appreciate it. Thanks guys.
  20. Thats very cool Mark! Talk about an eye catcher!
  21. I suppose my application would be just a fun to shoot range gun, however I do want it to be reasonably accurate(as accurate as I could be with it anyway) and be fairly consistent with it(again....as consistent as I could be). And i'll say it again, I want something more than a .22...I want something with a little "umph" behind it. After some discussion today with some good company, I think I am leaning towards a sks of some sorts. I did also get to shoot a garand, which I LOVED, however that is a little bit out of the price range I really want to spend right now.
  22. I have to agree here as well, I learned a ton today just by chatting with you guys. I also had an awesome time! Outside of sweating my a** off all day...lol. The company was awesome, the food was awesome, and like Mike said....the shooting was just icing on the cake. Thanks to Mark & Sue for putting on an awesome get together! Also thanks to everyone who had a hand in preparing the food and getting the range ready to shoot on as well.
  23. Is this thing gonna happen rain or shine? Or will we just have to wait til in the morning to see?
  24. Good Deal then, I'll bring a few bags of ice(3 be enough?) and a pack of napkins.
  25. Cool, No problem on the Napkins, However is there a convenience store there close? Last time I used my big cooler I left it in a buddies car and don't have it right now, but if there is a store there close where I could get some ice...It should be fine til I get it there if someone else has a big cooler they could bring?
