  1. Ok, I'm gonna go ahead and throw this out there and be "that guy", but I'm calling it for the 30th. Figure we'll try to eat around noonish-1 or so(will that give you enough time for the meats titan?). Be there earlier if you choose and fire off some rounds after we get our bellies full? Hope this is cool with everyone?
  2. lol, Figures. I just created a group for fisherman, then was going to try to find a solution to not being able to upload a group "avatar", and came across this post. Oh well
  3. I agree with Erik and titan that all the food shouldn't be left for a single person to bring(in hopes that the ones that committed actually come). Maybe if two friends know they are coming together(or going to meet there for that matter), they could go in together and split some hotdogs(or hamburger) and buns or something so not every single person is left bringing an entire pack of meat and buns for themselves(unless of course they plan on eating that much....lol). Also, If anyone wants something particular to drink, It would probably be best to bring it as well. I have a descent size cooler which I can bring to put some drinks and ice in. I will also cover the plates, napkins, and silverware as well. So like titan said, If we could get a fairly solid headcount ahead of time, that would be great. Also, Saturday is good with me as well.
  4. For those of you with yungun's, What evening/night will you be trick or treating?
  5. Ok Guys, This thing is still going to happen. It will be happening on Halloween weekend at BigJ45's place(In Andersonville, not far from Big Ridge Park), however the specific day isn't decided yet. I figure it will be best to figure out which night/evening everyone will be taking their kids trick or treating(not sure which day?), and shoot for the opposite day. That way no one has to be in a hurry to get back home to get their kids ready or what have you. What do you guys think? "titan14" has volunteered to bring his smoker for the food and they'll be a few things we need to decide there, but i'll let him post and give you guys the run-down of what he'll need to know as far as what meat everyone wants. As far as everything else other than meat, As much as I would like to be able to afford to bring enough for everyone, I can't. So maybe if everyone could bring something, it will be easier on everyone. A few things that i can think of right now that we'd need... Meat(once everyone decides on that) Buns? Drinks Ice/Cooler(s) Sides Sweets? Condiments Plates, silverware, napkins, etc Anyways, Thats all I can think of right now, so we can start trying to get things worked out.
  6. Sounds good to me! Fishing one day, Shooting guns the other....Sounds like a good weekend to me!
  7. Oh, I don't know. Didn't know anything about that. Anyone know for sure?
  8. Anyone gonna be down there Sunday? Thought I might head that way if I would have some company.
  9. Ok guys, I think we are going to shoot(pun intended ) for the weekend of the 30th/31st. BigJ45 has said he would be willing to host it at his place, just as long as nothing comes up. So here in a couple weeks we're gonna try to get more details worked out. Looking forward to it guys!
  10. Oh Yeah.....No one mentioned this "guy".....
  11. Like others have said, Its hard to pick just one. All depends on everyones preference, but I just discovered Buckethead about a year ago and surprised me to hear him mentioned from someone else...haha. He is awesome! Wierdo....but awesome! haha
  12. They were abit before my time, but I have to agree with the masses....I love me some Zeppelin. Hard to pick just one though.
  13. Well, Its not really looking like we have a private location to organize this thing at. What about picnic areas close to the Norris area, etc? Meet up there, have some chow and chat abit, then move the party to the range? I realize some don't want to have to pay to shoot at Norris, but at the moment....this basically seems like the only option available. If you don't want to pay to shoot at Norris, you could still come and hang out at the picnic area. What do you guys think? Anyone happen to know of a good location for a cook-out in that area?
  14. Well, So far it seems no private land available. How do you guys think Norris PD would feel with us having a cookout there at the range? We could set everything up back in the far back right hand corner as you pull into the parking lot?
  15. I just posted the date poll thread, so everyone thats interested can go vote on a date.
  16. Vote for whichever date works best. If any work for you, vote for whichever the majority has voted for(just to keep things simple). I have the poll set to cut off after a week, so try and get your vote in!
  17. So who all would really be interested in attending that doesn't have a key/pass to Norris? How about these options for the poll thread?....10/2, 10/3, 10/9, 10/10, 10/16, 10/17?
  18. I agree if anyone had any private land, that would be best since not everyone has a pass/key to Norris. Plus we could do our own thing, someone bring a grill, etc, etc. Ditto! Dates.....What kind of date range are we thinking? I'm assuming either a Saturday or Sunday would work best for the majority? Let me know and i'll post a new poll thread.
  19. Here's what i'm thinking....Get together somewhere(wherever is convenient for most) , fire off some rounds, then plan either a cook-out of sorts, or if nothing else head to the nearest eatery and chow down. Maybe meet some new faces, and catch up with the "usuals". Sometime before we got icicles hanging from our barrels.... What do you guys think? Edited Oct 20th: For the late readers, This thing is happening! Saturday, October 30th! Edited Oct 22nd: The plan is for everyone to meet at the old IGA in Andersonville(link to mapquest directions below) at 10AM, then everyone will convoy to BigJ45's place. Here is the link to the mapquest location, you can then simply enter in your own address beside "Get Directions" and it should lead you there. http://www.mapquest.com/maps?name=Hensley+Iga&city=Andersonville&state=TN&address=3310+Andersonville+Hwy&zipcode=37705&country=US&latitude=36.186761&longitude=-84.06142&geocode=ADDRESS&id=5141698 Also, We are asking everyone to bring basically what they want to eat & drink....this way not one person is left having to make sure to bring enough for everyone, and titan14 is being kind enough to provide a smoker for the preparation of the meats. See his posts (quoted below) regarding what you need to let him know about what kind of meat you will be bringing.

    Finally!

Same time? 10 or so? You don't reckon the PD would be closed tomorrow for Labor day or anything would they? Need to stop by there and get my new key. Thanks! Lovin' the M&P! No worries on the backstrap...haha, I emailed S&W after I got it and they sent me one in the mail.
