I was just about to post a thread about that Tulammo stuff. Just spotted it today at my wally world. Anyone tried it yet?

Ok guys, So I got to try out my new targets yesterday at the East TN GTG and they worked great. I couldn't be happier for no more than I have put into them. Anyways, Just thought I would update you guys on what I ended up with. Here are a couple more pics I took of the finished product.

Mosin.... I wanted John(aka Garufa) to try out that 1" steel plate I snagged from work to see how it would hold up against his Mosin. Evidently when we set it up, one we set it at the wrong angle, and two it ended up being too soft of metal anyway. First shot did fine(although it did put a 1/2" deep demple in it), 2nd shot we heard it fly back over our heads. So we stopped shooting at the plate. A few minutes later, I think someone else was shooting a pumpkin that was just over top(on a bank) above the plate and shot low and hit the plate, again we heard that sound. So we called cold range and I went and put that plate back in the bed of my truck.

I agree with everyone....I had an awesome time. Glad everyone who was there was able to make it out. Also again, HUGE thanks to Bill(aka titan14) for cooking us up some awesome grub. And yes, The ricochet's sucked big time! Anyways, Again....Had a great time and can't wait til the next one!

Just a reminder....If anyone has an extra descent size cooler they could bring, That would be great. I have one, but I figure we'll need a couple anyway. Also, Maybe bring a couple more bags of ice with that cooler.

Yup! Just spent time after I got off work trying to pick everything up I need and will have to go over my list before bed to make sure I got everything. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Anyone got any "Police Line" stuff? Maybe we could set up sort of a "firing line" to help keep everyone in line while we're unloading? I felt like it was kinda tricky keeping everyone in line when we had the GTG up at Mark@Sea's. Anyone else think something like this would help?

I've got a couple of rubbermaid(I think) fold out tables I am planning on bringing. I had one when we had that GTG up at Marks. Their about 24-30inches x 4 1/2-5ft.

I am planning on having about 3 plates on there, but those will probably be only 1/4" for .22 plinking. If this one works out well, I will probably be making another single spinner for pistol rounds, and maybe eventually get something for some heavier rounds. I'll have to have something I can shoot with my new SKS...when I get it that is. The frame is made of solid 1/2" roundbar, and iron "black pipe" fittings. Its 36" wide overall and about 16" tall.

Ok Guys, Just to remind everyone....We are asking everyone to supply their own food, and be sure to get with titan14 on what type of meat you will be bringing. I will be bringing plates, napkins, silverware, about a 40qt cooler, and maybe a couple bags of ice. As well as my own food. If someone else has a decent sized cooler and maybe some ice they could bring, that would probably be a good idea. Looking forward to it! Hope to see everyone there!

Well guys, Here's what I got so far, This is just the frame...I'm going to be getting a guy at work to make me some spinner targets to go on there, hopefully before the weekend. I'm still pondering on a way to actually attach the legs to the fittings(pretty sure you can't weld steel to iron, correct?). Anyways, I should be able to figure out something there. Here are the pics of the frame...

Well guys, After looking around the net at ALOT of homemade setups and others suggestions, I had my idea planned out(at least for my first target setup). I got the parts today to make the frame(which I will post pics of hopefully tonight after I get it put together), then i'm gonna test some ideas on the targets themselves and hopefully have this done and ready to try out this weekend.

So far, I got a count of 18 people attending(including BigJ45 and myself). Sounds like we're going to have a great turn-out! Looking forward to it! Had to make a run to the wally world for a ammo run. By the way, Will anyone happen to be bringing their SKS that I might try out(i've got a box of WWB 7.62x39)? I'm seriously considering pulling the trigger(pun intended) on one of these soon and would like to get in some trigger time....just to make sure.

Something like this is kinda what i'm thinking....simple but fun. Maybe make one for .22LR and abit heavier one for pistol calibers. Possibly even do 3-4 "paddles" for the .22LR one.

Just curious if anyone has ever made, or attempted to make their own steel targets or any kind?

I'm gonna try to rob some scrap steel plate(s) from work next week.
