This I have been carded at several Wal-Marts when purchasing handgun ammo, I'm even on good terms with the guys in sporting goods. Their policy is a DL to verify date of birth, I'm an old guy they still card me. Your permit was not issued as a primary form of ID for making purchases at Wally World or anywhere else. Primary reason not to use your HCP as ID at Wally World or anywhere else = OP SEC "Operational Security" I think the nice lady could have asked you if you were carrying and had you said yes, asked you to leave the store without selling you anything.

I've used the RCBS for years and years, it has been a very good and reliable setup. Some complaints have been made that it doesn't get the case mouth perfectly square etc. I've never had that issue with it, I've loaded .308 .243. 223, for varmint type rifles, thousands of rounds and I trim to min every time I run these case thru the process. Also forget the storing the accessories on trimmer, they will get covered in brass shavings. One of the great things I like about the RCBS is you can get, I have and use them, 3-way case trimmer heads. They trim, chamfer and deburr all in on step and work nicely. I would recomend this trimmer, it has been a good one for me, any question feel free to ask. Of course when I bought mine (get the powered option) I payed less than half midways price for it, but that was 15 or more years ago, oh and it still works by the way.

Welcome, nice to know that area code is an answering service and you have no association with Oly Arms. Look forward to seeing some actual end user tests. Also I hope you will offer a conventional slide stop as a option. Matter of personal tastes and opinion, but I find extended slide stops, like full lenght guide rods more a hinderance that a help.

Olympic Arms, Inc. - Pistols – 1911 Could it be they are associated with Olympic Arms. Area codes 206 & 360 are in the same area of Washington state. If this is the case I'd be asking for my money back. They may be getting their forgings from Olympic and doing the finishing in Millington. Would be nice if someone in the Memphis area could do a drive by and see if there is a actual shop and not just a front building.

A true to spec Colt Combat Commader has a full size grip and a 4.25 inch barrel.
-
Hope they gave you a really deep discount, or even loan it to you to test. I wouldn't spend that kind of money on serial #1 of anything unless I knew it was going to have major collectors value. That's a lot to spend on a unknown product.

Agreed I take care of my investments now too. And if I want to use some of that it doesn't cost me 1/3 in taxes and penalties to use it because I'm not 59 1/2.
-
A double stack Para yes, a single stack no, you miss the point. Shortening the grip will aid concealment, not shortening the barrel. And if you need more that 9 in .45 there is Para and I'm sure plenty of tactical tupperware out there that will get it done.

C3 Defense - sweet deals

I saw them at the show too, and was really impressed with there colored lowers. Really liked the green, but I believe the do not use T7075 for there lowers. So I declined. As for there free suppressor, you still have to give the feds $200 and do all the paperwork, don't want to do that either. -
We all have our opinions right, that slide stop/release is hidious, having it extended back is one thing, grossly overhanging the grip is another. As for the Stinger I wonder if they are going to have issues with copyright since Les Baer has a Stinger line. Also not fond of their design concept. I've always thought the full sized grip caused concealment issues not barrel length. I would much rather see a shortened grip with a 4 or 4.25 inch barrel. If i"m going to have full length grip I'll just carry a 5" or commander lenght like I do now.

Most employers only match a portion of the first 2 or 3% you contribute. I'd like to know of a employer who matches 100% of everything you put in. I've done the math between losses of 2000-2001 and 2007-2009. Would have done better buring it in the back yard.... Fact is the ponzi scheme called Social Secuity is now negative, the gov is now having to borrow to cover the shortfall. There is a lot of money in 401K's and IRA's and since they were regulated and the gov granted tax advantages, they will find a way to get that money. However the Wall Street Banksters that have control over the investment of those funds and make much more money off of it then we will ever see are going to want something for giving up that gravy train.

Larue makes some nice quick disconnect mounts that re-mount and the return to zero is very very close. I know most are "AR" mounts, but with a mil spec rail they should work. As for scopes partial to Leupold myself, excellent glass and service if you need it is second to none.
-
You just bought a heck of a nice rifle, spend alittle more and go with the best possible glass and mount you can afford. Larue makes the best mounts out there, and since that should be a mil spec rail, i would think quite a few of their mounts would be suitable for your DMR. Plus they send some nice goodies in every package. LaRue Tactical Home Page

That makes as much sense as anything I've heard, 2 rifles both with the mums intact and known bring backs with the forends cut off. May be something to that wives tale, thanks for the info.

You need to start a new thread, and pic's please.........
-
So SWJewellTN how did your shopping/fact finding mission go today?
-
Wow, now that's a piece of family history. Did he ever say anything about the forend being cut off?
-
Very interesting, I have a TYPE 99 with the Mum on the reciever that I got from my father. It is a WWII bring back from a Marine that he grew up with, that served in the South Pacific. Like yours the forend has been removed, I wonder if this was just a way of sporterizing it or if it had another purpose.
-
Don't see how you can wait that long, I'd be at the range like now running some ball thru it.
-
I have an odd request, if you follow normal break in you probably will not strip it and clean it till after you put 200 rounds or so thru it. However when you do, would you send me a picture of the slide stop/release from a couple of different angles. If you would like to PM me and I'll tell you why.

That is absolutely gorgeious......I'm jealous.

I would not guess at it, I think I would remove the barreled action from the stock and try and determine if this is a designed pressure point or a high spot in the wood. The pressure point may not look like a pad it just may be a raised area in the stock 1/4 of a inch or more in width and runing the width of the barrel channel. The barrel may even have left an impression in this area. If it is indeed a factory designed pressure point, do not be surprised if you remove it and find the stock is now contacting more area of the barrel, for it may be holding the the barrel from contacting the stock. And strange as it sounds sometimes accurracy can be improved with these type of stocks by adding a shim to the raised area thus increasing pressure. A high spot will be non-uniform and generally only contacting a small area of the barrel on one side or the other. You can use some chalk powder on the barrel and wood, reassemble and then take it apart again and see if the contact area looks designed (uniform) or not.
