I'm sorry I stuck my nose in this one. I'm out. Good luck with Afghan relations. Appeasement has certainly been a good strategy to this point.

Caster, I don't know all of the details of this story any more than you do. I know it's tragic that innocent civilians were killed. I know that the killer needs to pay for the crime. I also know that PTSD and other factors can make people act in ways that a normal, sane person wouldn't. I've given well over a year of my life to the third-world craphole that is Afghanistan. I've buried more than one friend as a result of it. I'd prefer not to lose any more American lives at the hands of the Afghanis, especially someone who might be suffering from a stress-induced mental break. Let's at least let our sham of a justice system play out before we convict this soldier of being a mass murderer and sentence him.

Yet another nice thing about the ZT 0350 is that it's a four position carry- left or right handed, tip up or tip down.

Nothing yet. I should have my SOCOM in hand in the next couple of days. I think I'm going to shoot it with iron sights to get used to it then put optics on it in a little further down the road.

Zero Tolerance 0350. It's the best $100 you can spend on a folding blade.

I've got a couple of sets of them and have been really happy with them.

In my opinion, the RMD is just about a perfect hiking/camping/carry knife for everything except heavy chopping/brush clearing. I got one of the satin LE's they just released and it's absolutely fantastic. I've heard the HRLMs are nice but I've never had the chance to handle one.

Thanks Jeff, How do you like the long eye relief? Any problems with acquisition or with two-eye open shooting?

Also, if there's a different model of Eotech you'd recommend over the 553 I'd love to hear about which one and why. Thanks.

I'm considering putting an Eotech 553 on a Springfield M1A Socom. The other options I've considered are the Aimpoint M3 or PRO or the Leupold Scout 2.5x28. Can anyone talk me into or out of any of the above?

Unfortunately for me, "need" and knives don't seem to go together. Good luck selling it, it should go quickly.

Absolutely. Their warranty is bulletproof, although odds are you won't need it. Put up some pics when you get it.

I love my Ratmandu's (all three of them) but have heard that the 711 is a fantastic knife. I also just heard that Dan at Scrapyard was getting ready to raise the price on the 711's. For the money I'd buy the 711 now and then buy the Ratmandu later.

Just to parrot everyone else, great service and great folks. They've done builds for several of my friends and did a refinish job on a Les Baer 1911 for me. Top notch all the way.
