  1. Nice one Mav. I'd really like to get my hands on one of the one piece CR's.
  2. Wow, sexy! Definitely the nicest looking CQC I've seen. I've wanted to have him do one of mine for a while but have just never gotten off of my butt and sent one.
  3. From my perspective McQueary should have done more than just report the incident. He should have stopped it the instant he saw it happening. You can't tell me that a 28-year old man can't stop a 60-year old from raping a little boy. He should have boot-stomped Sandusky's head into the floor until he was unrecognizable. He is a cowardly POS and deserves everything that's coming to him.
  4. I've heard good things about Mora, especially for the cost. I've never done the forced patina on a carbon blade although I am a fan of the appearance. I believe it was OhShoot that just posted some info on forced patinas here recently. I use Tuf-Glide dry lube on all of my carbon steel and it does a good job protecting them.
  5. I have the Wicked Edge. I bought it when they had it on sale at Blade. So far I've done a couple of knives on it with pretty good results. There is a learning curve with it (at least for me) and the directions that come with it aren't great. I bought a couple of cheap folders to experiment with before I put any of my nicer blades on it.
  6. I think, unfortunately, that you're missing the point. I don't have any details because I haven't been to your shop. Honestly I didn't know your shop was even there. I am, however, a gun enthusiast and someone who likes to look at and buy shiny things. If Dolomite (or anyone else that I know and respect) had posted a raving review of your shop and your service you can bet I would have found a reason to make my way to Seymour and into your shop. Now I have no reason and no inclination to go out of my way. If I want crappy customer service and smart-ass employees I can always go to Coal Creek. They're right down the street.
  7. You could always try just keeping your opinion to yourself.
  8. For us, it's a 7 pound pork butt that's I rubbed down with some Bad Byron's rub yesterday. It's been cooking since 8:30 this morning. Mmm, mmm good!
  9. Oh well, I'll add them to the list of Knoxville area gunshops that offer crappy customer service.
  10. Katrina was the first thing that popped into my head.
  11. I picked up this Backwoods custom for my Dad as a Christmas gift this year. 1095 carbon steel forced patina ivory micarta scales with red spacers handmade leather sheath. This one feels incredible in the hand and Bill's workmanship is flawless. Maybe I'll just get Dad a gift card this year and keep this one for myself...
  12. My two favorite comments on the Facebook page: "I didn't know one could get a duty belt in size "Equator"" and "Hog the Bounty Hunter"
  13. Thanks for posting this. It is absolutely amazing how much our world has changed in 10 years.
  14. I order mine John. I go through Barre Army Navy. They have a great selection and fair prices. Vermont's Barre Army Navy - Army Navy Store - Army Navy Surplus Store - Army Navy Surplus - Mosquito Netting - Military Clothing - Camping Gear - Survival Gear
  15. Stormdrane's stuff is really good. I find TIAT (linked above by David) the most user friendly. If you really get into this stuff, the Ashley Book of Knots is THE reference guide for knot-tying.
  16. Check Steve's post. I had the CB confused with the ZDPCKT. That's the one that was $200 if I remember correctly. Sorry for the confusion.
  17. The KW stands for Knife Works. To my knowledge they are the only ones who sell the bead blasted finish. They're out of stock right now but I believe that price is right in line with what they sell for. The CB is a limited edition (1000 pieces I believe). I think Steve has more info on this one, but I want to say they were selling for around $200.
  18. Hey Erik, How's "The Company" treating you?
  19. I had some of Popcorn's stuff as my first experience with shine. It put me on my ass and gave me a healthy respect for the stuff. RIP.
  20. Cool story! I had never heard that.
  21. I'd find it impossible to narrow down to one favorite knife. I carry my ZT-0350 every day and it sees more work than any other knife I own. However, my favorite folder is my Chris Reeve large Sebenza. It was the "Lisa's Pick" from December 2010 and was a Christmas gift from my wife. I admit to having never carried or used it, but the fact that my wife knew me and my tastes well enough to pick this out for me makes it my favorite. My favorite fixed blade is my Busse SAR-3. 7 3/4" overall- 3 1/4" blade. It's small enough to carry easily while still being beefy enough to do most anything I need it to. I carry it in a Dwayne Puckett drop sheath or a Don Ward OWB style pancake sheath.
  22. That's a big one. I got my hands on one of the original Rajah I's a little while back. It's an Andrew Demko designed beast and looks like it's about the same size. Not sure what I'll ever use it for, but I'm glad I have it just in case Great snag at $12.
  23. Great review lostpass. I love my 0300 but it is a hoss of a knife to carry. Mav, I'm gonna have to try out that "smash the hell out of someone's face" maneuver...
