  1. I recently bought a 642 from a local shop. It's been a week and I finally got to put some rounds through it. The rounds are all over the place, but mainly to the right. At seven yards I was barely able to hit a gallon milk jug. I am normally a pretty good shot. I was able to keep my keltec p11 centered up from that distance. So, a couple of questions? What bullet weight is the 642 sighted in for? Next, Could there be something wrong with the gun? Need help. I would like to keep a revolver because of hurting my wrist, but if it is not accurate past seven yards then I may need something else.
  2. I also just bought one of these guns last week. I am having trouble tightening my groups up but I love the way it carries. I am thinking of buying the clipdraw for mine. Has anyone tried one of these? I hope my revolver doesn't bite me like yours but if it does I'll remember the bite is worse on the other end.
  3. I just bought one of these:D and I need an IWB holster, preferably one that stays open after drawing the weapon. I don't have a lot of money to spend now so the lower cost, the better. What say you??
  4. buy the finger extension for the p11, get used to the trigger pull and put in a holster. I have owned 3 with no problems. In fact, i bought one from a guy who said it did nothing but jam. He was limp wristing it. I bought it and later was at the range shooting. He wouldn't believe it was the same gun. The pinkie extension helps with control alot. But don't expect a target gun at 25 yards. Just practice at 15 and in for accuracy.

    44 special

Is the Charter Arms 44 special really a good defensive gun? Does it overpenetrate? And would you trade a keltec p11 to get one? I have never shot a 44 special in a small gun so I have no experience to base this decision on. This is the latest offering from Charter Arms.
  6. My carry is the p11. It is not much wider than the pf9 and I have 13 rounds plus the 10 round in my pocket. If that is not enough then I should have been somewhere else.
  7. I have a keltec p11, but I am thinking of trading for a snubbie. I can buy a Taurus snub with a full grip round butt. It is a 5 shot 38 special but does not say +p. I would have to give about 70.00 between the two. Which do you people think is the better gun. The only reason I am considering this is because I have a weak wrist. I have yet to have a failure with the keltec so I don't know if I want to give up the capacity yet.
  8. I had a stainless one a while back and really enjoyed it. Someone offered more than I could refuse ( should have though). It shot excellent and I had no FTF's. The porting did not bother me at night but it was when I was much younger and could see better.
  9. Does anyone know where I can get a set of rubber grips for my old smith wesson square butt 38 special? I want a set that does not cover the backstrap of the gun. Everything I find does that and since I have short fingers it makes for a long grip. Any help is appreciated:wall:.
  10. As I said in my newbie post, I have the p11. Carry it everyday. I don't have a problem with the trigger. It is 8lb (same as a good revolver) and at 10 yards can keep it in 3 inches. Even shot a groundhog at 18 yards. Probably luck but it hit where I aimed.
  11. Farnsworth Firearms is just off hwy 411 in Vonore. Turn right just past the school which is on your left from Maryville. When you go under the railroad you will see a tan building in front of you. There it is. Usually has good prices and usually has ammo.
  12. Hello to all. This is Randy from just south of Knoxville Tn in Loudon county. I frequent a great gun store in Vonore and shoot there when I can. Mainly I shoot in the back yard. I shoot the low end (but completely reliable so far) guns of Keltec and the Firestar 45. I have an old smith 38 special for the last ditch home defense. Hopefully, I will have some good input and get a lot of good ideas from here.
