  1. I know that Glock is the most used pistol by the police. What I want to know is 2nd most used pistol by police. Does anyone know where to find this information or can you provide.
  2. Would you add 100 dollars and trade a Glock 27 with extra mag for a 3 inch Smith Wesson model 65 ladysmith 357 mag revolver? This one has the pinned hammer and no safety lock. I like the way it feels but wonder how it would carry as an every day piece. Does anyone carry one of these everyday?
  3. I would like to have some opinions on these two subjects. How good is the Sig p250? I don't know anyone who has one or has shot one. Second, is the 357 sig round on the rise or downfall? Haven't heard a lot of people talking about it either. I have the chance to buy the pistol in this caliber and have an extra 40 cal barrel with it. Help me out before I buy one.

    New Ruger SR

Has anyone heard if Ruger is going to make an sr45 or will they stay with the p345? I am thinking of a new purchase but would hold off if they are making an sr45.
  5. I had one and liked to carry, but did not like to shoot it so much. It had alot more recoil than my glock 27. It also was not as accurate past 5 yards. I know that most encounters happen close, but I want to hit something at 10-15 yards if needed. I also experienced the problem with the trigger reset. I found if I rode the trigger at all I had problems. I had to release all the way.
  6. I have stayed away from the six series because of weight. They are still heavier than the 101 and I will be carrying most of the time. I don't mind the Glock and the sp101 is really not any heavier. I actually think the revolver will conceal better because of the rounded grip.
  7. I have two mags so that's where I get 19 rounds. I live near you and shoot at Farnsworth in Vonore alot. No one there has the lcr. I don't know if the glock would cycle the snakeshot. I don't want to carry it as the first round if it will not cycle. What length barrel do you have on your sp101?
  8. Trying to talk myself out of trading my glock for a ruger sp101. I don't frequent places of ill repute so I don't need 19 rounds. I ride horses alot so I could carry snakeshot plus 38's or 357. Heavy trigger pull would keep me from accidently hitting the horse. Down side is that it is still only 5 rounds. Can't miss much and which would have more effect on the four legged animals that I may cross. Also, has anyone shot the lcr in 357? Is it really too much to handle? lightweight and snub seems to lend itself to MUCH recoil. Wonder if they will make one with a three inch barrel?
  9. Which caliber has the most recoil in the new Smith? The 45 acp, 45 colt or the 410? I have shot the acp through the Taurus 455 snub and it wasn't too bad. I am thinking of getting the Smith and shooting mostly 45 acp but could use the snak shot when I go horse riding in the mountains. Can someone give me info if they have shot all three calibers in this pistol?
  10. I have other 45s and thought it would be nice to have the same caliber. The Taurus is a five shot so it is a little smaller. I have carried my k frame 38 and it seems to carry ok but it is a little harder (not much) to conceal with nicer clothes. The wife would probably want me to give up my Glock 27 to do this. Don't know if I could do that.
  11. Seen a Taurus 45 acp revolver with 4 inch barrel and ported today. Are these good guns and could you carry it concealed very easily?

    ok deal?

I traded my keltec pf9 with extra mag and box of shells plus 160.00 for a glock 27 gen 2 with extra mag and box of shells. Does this sound like a good deal or just about right? I just wanted a glock and the pf9 was hard on my wrist. I thought the 27 would be but it is actually easier. What do you people think?
  13. No one talks about them but I have a Firestar 45 and it is a great gun. It is as heavy as the Colts but shoots just as well. If you don't mind the weight it is great. I would buy a second one if I could find a good price on one.

    ccw

I'm not trying to start a caliber war, but I really want to know if people feel a 9mm from a short barrell with 8 rounds is enough for civilian concealed carry? Is the 9 enough firepower and does it overpenetrate. I have a keltec 9 now but have the opportunity to trade for a Taurus pt145 but I like my keltec so far. What do you people think?
  15. The only drawback I see is the trouble to find parts if something goes bad. I have the 45 version and love it. It has always fired and is accurate enough. Carries good but it is heavy.
  16. I recently bought a PF9 and have shot it a few times with no malfunctions. My problem is this. I can trade for a Taurus pt145. I really am not trying to start the 9 vs 45 war but is the bigger caliber worth the trade in size and weight. The recoil in the PF9 is pretty sharp but I have no experience with the Taurus. Can someone help with that comparison?

    keltec

How much is a slightly used Keltec p11 worth? Have they moved into the reliable for ccw category?
  18. Too bad you are not in East Tn. Farnsworth has them used in a box. Real cheap too. Might find his number on line and see if he will ship one too you.
  19. If you are in Maryville you should think about Fransworth Firearms in vonore. Not too far away and always cheaper than Gunny's. No membership to shoot. I think it is 5 dollars for a 1/2 hour plus target. Bring your ammo and fire away. No steel ammo though.
  20. Has anyone reviewed this new pistol? What is the street price going to be for this one? I kind of like the look of this pistol.

    380 for ccw

Due to financial setbacks I am carrying a hi point 9c. I know people don't like them but it has gone bang everytime. It is actually more accurate than some of my higher dollar guns I used to own. The problem is that it is so heavy and bulky. It is hard to hide under any garment cause it prints. I don't mind the weight so much as the way it shows.

    380 for ccw

Looked at a cz 83?? in 380 today. I was wondering if it would be a good gun as an EDC for CCW? I already have a small 380 for light summer work but wanted something for winter as well. I thought at 170 it wasn't a bad deal. What do you people think?

    380

If you are going to buy a 380 go with the keltec and spend the extra money on ammo. I've handled all the ones you mentioned and liked the Taurus least. After comparing Ruger and Keltec I saw no reason to buy a copy of the original just because it said Ruger. I've now shot close to a thousand rounds through the Keltec with no problems.
  24. I was looking at the Charter revolvers yesterday and noticed that the trigger guard and maybe the back strap are made of plastic. Did anyone else notice this and is it a problem. I could not tell on the back because the grip covered all but the top back portion. I wanted a target pug 357 but now I wonder about the durability of the gun. Does anyone have knowledge of this gun and do they hold up?
  25. Laugh if you want but the easiest I have seen to rack the slide is the Hi point. Now, I'm not saying they are the best pistol but try the slide. I do own one and have shot about 600 rounds with no problems. Just not the top of the line pistol.
