The AR10 opens you up to a bunch of the short action stuff, not that the .308 doesn't pretty much cover it. I'll probably wind up with one of the .458 SOCOM rifles. I've had a 45/70 lever gun on my list for awhile. Having that kinda smack in the AR platform is way better.

Brought a tear to my eye

This is my first striker pistol. Had a 9mm auto since the '70's, but it's old school. When I bought the M&P, I went between it and a G19. Picked the M&P hands down, mostly because of trigger feel (stock triggers). Besides, the Glock is butt ugly. EDIT: BTW... it easy enough to leave the lighter trigger spring in and see how you like it. I would be interested to hear.

I noticed that too. Somebody else may be able to answer better. Trigger pull weight isn't all there is to a good trigger. I'm inclined to do the heavier spring. May not be a duty pistol, but I will carry it sometimes.

Haven't picked it apart in depth. The kit includes a slave pin for the trigger spring replacement, and a tool to help install the plunger. I would just get the kit. EDIT: Actually, I did just get the kit.

The SR556 is a class act. Folks whined about the price when it came out. But, when you add up the features, it's not bad at all.
