    Nope. You're the designated slapper
  2. The sling stud works real well. It's strong enough. The bipod comes on and off quickly and easily. There's a nice layer of rubber to keep you from marring the finish on the rifle. Suggest you try it first before you buy any special mount.
  3. Yeah. 6.8 AR mentioned free float too. I'll do a little more schooling. Weight is a big deal to me on this rifle, and dead nuts accuracy isn't a big priority. I think I'm going to leave the red dot on there, and it's plenty accurate with that optic. I would have to put a real scope on it to find out what it's really doing. BTW... looks like I'm probably going to build up another lower for a buddy that's been sitting on one forever. The next one will go fast.
  4. Those Atlas pods look great. How heavy are they?
  5. Looks close to a 45/70, in an AR! That could be fun
  6. That's real reasonable for what it is.
  7. Personally, I have no doubt that you're deadly with that PGO. Me, I would wind up shooting the aquarium, and drowning the thug.
  8. They sell just the upper for 725. How much is the whole rifle?
  9. I think Lester said once that he's an old audio guy, so... Lester, that's a Switchcraft male XLR housing with regular mic cable. All guitar center stuff (duh, except the switch), or a good Rat Shack.
  10. I bought mine for a different reason. Most of my rifles have shorter barrels than the ones used to specify the muzzle velocity of factory ammo. Muzzle velocity is a biggie in calculating trajectory. I don't reload yet. I'm guessing that you're going to find real close muzzle velocities in bullets of of the same weight with the same amount of powder. There are folks on here that can tell you off the top of their heads. Trajectories may be different because of different ballistic coefficients, but it may not matter with a pistol. I'm not a good enough pistol shot to worry about it. I'm pretty much minute of thug at 25 yards.
  11. It's a gun board. Talking about the kind you can legally shoot
  12. In that case, it's probably a great idea. I just have to avoid shooting mine
  13. Which chrony do you have? Mine has a lot of room under the screens. You need to use a good rest on a stable bench. It's also a real good time to get a ballistic program. I use this one, but there are a bunch out there. Dexadine Ballistics Software - ballistic data for shooting and reloading It's also sold by Oehler Research. You can work the velocity curve, and simply bump the muzzle velocity in the program until it matches the measured velocity at 10 ft. No need to even use a target when you're clocking boolets. The stories I've read about folks shooting their crony's usually involved something goofy. Westwind's shield idea isn't bad if you have another way to see the display.
  14. That's what i was thinking.
  15. Gotta cut the grass and clean a few guns.
  16. I don't mind a little heat, but this summer wore me out. I don't like winter, but I deal with it better than extreme heat.
  17. Probably, If i can make some more room in the safe. It kinda already does...
  18. Yes, you do. Need to add the short Alpha Bravo lever too. I know you already bought fixed, and that may make you happy. Can't beat the Harris though. It's the only one I'll buy.
  19. Good deal. Sounds like it didn't get a chance to do any pitting.
  20. The pizza sauce works better if you throw it at the gun. I have some little wire wheels for my dremel that I've used with oil to dig rust out of pits. I like Rightwinger's solution better. I assume it takes the finish with it.
  21. An 870 or a 500 ain't gonna fail. The odds are as slim as the action on the double barrel failing.
  22. I'm a huge fan of AR's since I dug into one. I not going to get a bunch of them. I like all my other rifles too. I will wind up tweaking this one a little, but will probably wind up leaving the 3 MOA T dot on it. Great optic for what it is.
