  1. I just have this vision of a thug kicking the front door in, and me catching him on the way in, with a wide open door behind him. Yes, a .45 is perfect. So is a healthy dose of 1/0 Buck.
  2. I can believe the .223 has crappy penetration, but like I said, if one gets loose, it's gonna travel (and be deadly) for a long way.
  3. If it's totally frangible, I guess I could see it. Just hard to believe that anything with a 3000 fps muzzle velocity is safer than frangible handgun rounds at much slower velocities, or shotguns where penetration can be adjusted by load and shot size. If you find a crack with that .223, it's gonna go forever.
  4. I'm not a competition shooter, but I have a P01. NATO classified piece (like a G17). Went thru some real obnoxious reliability testing. The best part... it's an alloy frame.
  5. And, it's easy enough to bolt one in so it's virtually impossible to remove, so they have to break into it right there.
  6. At the risk of jacking this thread worse than has already been done, is anybody shooting CZ P01's in competition?
  7. Thanks Tim. Haven't seen that one
  8. I normally only keep one gun out. My HD shotgun hangs on the door inside the safe, and is always loaded with buckshot. IMO, an electronic lock is well worth the extra money. I can get my safe open in a few seconds.
  9. +1. If you don't do anything, it limits your bitchin' rights.
  10. Those links aren't working. Are you talking about these?
  11. Get a safe. One of the guys I work with just had a breakin. The thug kicked his front door in, in broad daylight, WITH a monitored security system. This was on a cul de sac in a decent neighborhood. The thug managed to get some valuables, including an expensive camera, and never was caught. I have a real decent security system in my house, but never felt OK leaving until I got a safe. I had a great experience with Mark at the Safe House in Nashville.
  12. Has to be available via a public IP address.
  13. This joke was more about the brother-in-law network in the community, so it swings pretty wide of any of the stereotypes. Like I said, I expect my friends to laugh, even though they've probably already heard it.
  14. I may be a bigot, but I would tell that joke to most, if not all of my Jewish friends. I would expect them to laugh.
  15. My dad dislikes the 1911. I'm gonna talk him into shooting mine.
  16. Once they show their intent, they don't have to worry about me coming in. An anti-gun sign pisses me off, whether it's legal or not.
  17. But, you may wanna explain that in an email. I get my glasses from Walmart
  18. You missed my point. The more carry permits that are issued, the more common gun carry BY CITIZENS will become. I'm a country boy, so black snakes don't scare me at all. I know what they are, and how they act.
  19. Too late. We banter about politics alot on this board, and nobody gets mad. The fights seem to center around open carry and gun safes
