    S&W .40 Sigma

I also have the 9mm sigma, its a good gun you DO get used to the trigger pull. it maybe a little long and I believe it is only a 10 pound trigger. but the bound is not the problem its the long trigger. I feel I'm just as accurate with it as i am with any other of my guns. and thats why its mt edc, that is until I get my Springfield xd subcompact. But its ust because its smaller and easier to conceal.
  3. My son took me to the gun show last week by my first hand gun. Bought a Springfield XDm 9mm 3.5. It feel great in my hand. It was much better than his S&W 9mm or his dads ruger.
  4. Hey everyone, I was never owned a revolver. And I''ve only shot one a few time, My grandmother has a h&r model 733 .32 s&w L. I like it ok but want to get something that is around that size maybe a little bigger but N ot too much I want to keep it in my truck for a back up weapon, to have able to just put in a pocket or small holster. any thoughts or recomendations thanks? .
  5. I agree OP did everything right even calling the police... in my short time on earth here( 26 years). i've learned there are 3 people to always be honest with. Parents, Cops and IRS...
  6. David Bullard was only a week or so this time last year. People have really turned on to his stuff since; I should get a commission. - OS I just ordered my Dual Carry from David Bullard and I don't have my XD Sub Compact "yet" getting it when Uncle sam send me my money. I've been looking at "ohshoots" for a while he mentioned it on another thread. My mom picked up the xdm 3.9 9mm last weekend and I got bit by the xd bug too. looking forward to it
  7. I have one of these as well, Actually my Great Grandmother does it was my great Granddads brought back from wwII, he brought it back wrapped in an Army blanket, the mum on his is still there nothing marked out, grew up seeing in his gun cabinet, he died about 20 years ago and my grandmother left it in the cabinet, last thanksgiving she handed out all of papa's guns to the grand kids that where there. She gave the type 99 to my grandmother, it was an act of God, two weeks later after returning to her house after spending time with family in Florida, she came home and was changing sheets on the bed and her house caught on fire and it burned about 60% of the house including the gun cabinet, but thankfully she had giving all his rifles out before then. she now is livng her in nashville with her daughter. caught a show on the history channel about the type 99 rifle and began doing a little reseach can across the link posted above and at christmas got the gun out and looked to see if the mum was still there, I after showing intrest in the rifle my Great Grandmother has told everyone she wants me to have it after her death, (No i'm not looking to see mt 89 yr old Great Grandmother die) she is a great women still drives!!! but the gun will be forever treasured, I just wish my papa was still alive so i could talk to him about the gun He died when i was only 7 years old
  8. Good to hear, I carry a sigma 9mm, I love it great gun had mine about year and a half, but about 600 rounds through it no jams. hope you enjoy it
  9. I've been taking my mother the past few months to the shooting range, I've been carrying for about a year now and have tried to get her to go get a hcp. Think its working now, yesterday we went to the fairgrounds and she bought her first handgun. She is talking about going now to get her hcp. (thank God) she picked up a new Springfield XDM 9mm 3.8, we put about 200 rounds through it yesterday, I'm a little jealous now it shoots great.
  10. I would have to look back on a old email account if I can remember the password but I applied on Jan 13 2009 and finger printed the next day, issued on 5-12-2009 and told it was mailed and arrived at my house on 6-3-2009 and I live in Nashville less then 7 miles from the handgun permit office. Guess its just have bad luck ? Or I can say we just have a great Government?
  11. they have 90 days to "notify" you it took mine almost 5 months, around the 90th day i called and two days later received a letter and email from them saying there were running behind.
  12. It may not happen, I read somewhere would have to look for it, but heard there is a group of people/ a family, that is sueing the mayors office, because when the land was giving to city it was stated that the land would always have to be used for the fair and the mayor was doing away with that so if this suit goes through then maybe it will save the location for the gun shows and flea markets and events there ?
  13. Isn't there a gun show this weekend at the Tennessee state fairgrounds?
  14. I was at the bank this morning, went through The drive thru, Not my local bank so not everyone there knows me I was depositing check and getting cash back, asked for id and sent in my hcp, then when giving the cash and permit back the lady told me next time to come into the bank and deposit my check, she said that me carrying in my truck through the drive thru was not keeping her safe, lol they do have an armed guard at the bank but she said more guns more safety, Why can't everyone think this way.
  15. Stopped twice in a week and a half, (I have a Lead Foot). Informed both times and let go, first stop the leo asked what I carried and never ran my licenses becaise he never left my window. second one pulled over after a wedding had 3 beers there but had not had anything in about 2 hours, informed was carrying and had drank earlier, giving Field sobriety test, guess I faild because of nerves and standing outside in cold with short sleeves no jacket, then took a breathalizer, blew .01 and then let go no ticket, I will always inform I don't want to be that guy that gets shot by a cop because he is feared for his life if he sees my gun, In my opinion we both carry for the same reason.
  16. I know guess i just got finger happy with the 000?
  17. Well i read some of the post here not all of them though, this is my opinion on the subject and from what happened to me on Saturday night. I went to a wedding on Saturday night, there at the wedding I had 4 beers left around 11pm. The wedding was about an hour away from Nashville. I drove my date back to her place. The headed home, I always have at least one handgun in my truck whether it be my carry weapon smith and wesson sigma, or a .32 h&K ?(that stays in my truck) I was pulled over on the way home about 2 mile from my dates apartment. 42 mph in a 30 time was about 12:30 am. the LEO came to my window I already had my license and hcp out for him. he asked where my hand gun was i told him under my console. then asked me where i was coming from, explained from a wedding and droped my date off, he asked if I had be drinking I told him what I drank at the wedding which was about an hour and a half before the stop. he then asked me to step out of the truck. I went through a field soberity test. Now remember it was around 33 degrees on saturday night I was cold and nervous about being pulled over, walked the line followed the pen and stood on one foot and counted, he then asked again how many I had drank, Then said there was suspesion i was "under the influence" so he cuffed me sat in the back seat of the car and took a beathalizer, which was about 25 min after I was cuffed, I then blew a .02, was uncuffed and not ticketed in anyway free to go home, only thing i got was sore wrist from sitting with the cuffs on my hand in the backseat of the car .... so if there is a law for under the influence and carrying i would think its the legal limit just like dui at .08 or the police officer was giving me a break you decide?
  18. Were i took the class our written test was open notes and the question on the test were stressed during the class such as "if i write it on the board its on the test" or " this would be a good test question" and even "if i were to make a test today i'd put this on it" such a waste of time, but there are great points during the class dob't get me wrong. gun safety and so on.
  19. Well it happened to me this morning on the way to work!!!! 38 in a 30... Pulled over handgun in passenger seat. First time getting pulled over sense the HCP,I Kept hands on steering wheel told the officer I had a Handgun in car and permit, he replied "I don't care as long as you have a Permit" then asked for it. GOOD NEWS!!! he let me Go with a warning, Told me that his partner and him decided this morning they would stop everyone going 36 or faster but not ticket unless going 39 or faster... then we just talked about Nascar! Glad to know there are still Nashville Metro officers out there who are nice
  20. well here is an answer this is off of the US Corps of Engineer site TITLE 36--PARKS, FORESTS, AND PUBLIC PROPERTY CHAPTER III--CORPS OF ENGINEERS, DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY PART 327--RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING PUBLIC USE OF WATER RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS ADMINISTERED BY THE CHIEF OF ENGINEERS--Table of Contents Sec. 327.13 Explosives, firearms, other weapons and fireworks. 21. Hey I've looked and I'm sorry if this topic has been brought up before, but, My father and I fish lakes in the Nashville area Mainly Percey Priest and Old Hickory, My question was is it legal to carry on these lakes, I know they are under the TWRA and The Corps of Engineers, and the US Coast Guard patrols the lake along with the TWRA. But being on the lake most people are Friendly but. Just wanted to know would feel safer as anywhere while carrying ?
  22. my family owns our own business in Nashville we have a Drain Cleaning service, we make house calls and frequent some apartment complexes I would not let my dog( don't get me wrong i love my dog) lets say cat (don't like cats) to go to. but he its our job we have to go. we have a turn a blind eye policy on guns, our insurance doesn't allow our employees to have them while working but, trust me come to our office and you'd be likely to see a few guns laying around or on hips, i have no idea if we have employees carrying or not but i would feel safe if they did
  23. I've shot at G&L and took, but took my HCP at Academy of Self Protection right off of 24 west toward Clarksville, Its not the nicest place but by far not the worse place I've been, but the Good thing on Friday's females shoot for FREE!!!!! It would probaly be about the same drive to G&L maybe ten min shorter but take advantage of Free Range cost, I believe its normally $12 to shoot there
