I guess I'm the only one that likes the color scheme.

Top 5 based on what I wonder? Sure as hell isn't one of the best. There are only a few breweries and none of them distribute beyond Knoxville area that I'm aware. Saw Works probably makes the best beer but it's not one of the best-not even close.

This is probably worth trying. http://www.knoxnews.com/knoxville/food-and-dining/brewing-up-a-business-knox-brew-tours-highlights-local-craftbeer-scene_00594466

Yazoo brewing is in Nashville. I like some of their beers. There is Big River Brewing in Chattanooga. Knoxville has a few now as well. Saw Works has great beer. If you are into craft beer do yourself a favor and take a trip to Asheville for a weekend. It's the best beer city east of the Mississippi.

Guilty verdict in German exchange student's death
White Goodman replied to waynesan's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Pretty sure this would have been legal in Texas right? They are one of the only states I know where you can use deadly force to stop property theft. -
Wouldn't surprise me. Remember the M&P Hickok was shooting with the cracked slide?

I think it's funny that the state always says it's impossible for these animals to be there. Clearly it isn't. They are amazing animals. Here in Florida we have the extremely endangered Florida Panther. I think there are less than 100 left in the entire state-most of which are in South Florida(AKA Cuba). It would have been great if they didn't have to kill this one but I understand why they did it.My cousin killed this monster out in MT or WY.

PBS Poll: Would you support more restrictive gun laws in your state?

The dead bolt is above it but not pictured.

How? You don't even need a permit to OC in North Carolina.

The sheriff's office had a deputy at my house within 5 minutes of my call. He was the most polite and professional officer I've dealt with. He said they are seeing a lot of break ins during the day right now. He agreed it looked suspicious and said that my dog probably scared them off. The Sheriff has a map on their website that shows all the crime in the county. There was a break in last month just down the street from me and one yesterday a few blocks over. https://www.crimereports.com/map/index/?search=28.8041579,-81.72563200000002&agencyzoomlevel=13

I agree. The brown dog Gunner is a Belgian Malinois Mix(we think). He has a very deep menacing bark.

You're right. What I was trying to say is that it doesn't matter how strong the actual door is if the lock and frame are not reinforced. In other words, I could keep the same door as long as I make the frame stronger. When I installed the new lock I went and bought the 3" screws to make it stronger. Thanks for the suggestions.
-
Well shucks. Come on back then. I have some extra 230 grain ties that you'll love. :)
-
The wood is steel on the outside but the core is wood. Doesn't the strength really come from the frame and the lock and not the door? If they want in bad enough I don't think it's going to matter.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll call them later today. I don't think they made entry because our alarm was armed. I'm tempted to mount a camera on the front porch though.
-
Here is a slightly better picture

I'm really thankful we have an alarm. My dogs won't do much but they do look scary. I'll call the sheriff tomorrow. Are there any inexpensive cameras I could get? I'm interviewing for jobs in TN so we hopefully won't be here much longer.

We were walking a few months ago and discovered a house behind us was broken into. I called the sheriff. The front door was wide opened. It was empty and for sale. I assume they were after copper or appliances. And yes, there are a few sht bags. Last week my dog started barking at some thugs out front. I watched them steal an old mop from my trash can at the curb and proceed to smash it.
-
I don't know...? I can't see how they would get in. The deadbolt isn't going to be opened with a wire. I'm sure my dog was barking if someone was at the door. I wonder why they didn't just try to kick the door in..
-
You're right. I wasn't sure what to call it. It's a foot long I'd say.

When I got home today I noticed that my door near the lock seemed to be chipped. Maybe it's been like this but I feel like I would have noticed it before. My fiance and are pretty observant, especially when it comes to the house. She agreed that she didn't think it was like that before. We also found wood splinters on the ground in front of the door. Very small but visible none the less. Then, when I was asking her about it, she noticed the big bread tie on the ground in front of my door. There is no way the wind blew it there so it had to have been dropped. Coincidence or suspicious? It seems like if someone wanted to break in they could have just kicked the door in. Is there some trick with these bread ties that I'm not aware of where you can open locks? I'll pose pictures as soon as my phone is willing to work.
