  1.   I think that's a great idea. It should only be a 2 hour drive up to Savannah. I've been to Charleston before but I was 17 and it was cold(march) so I didn't have a great time. I think I would enjoy it more now honestly.
  2.   Good call. Savannah GA is also really nice. It's probably one of my favorite cities I've visited. I really like history and looking at old homes.
  3. How long are you looking to stay Greg? The Fiance and I really like going to St. Augustine but it's not a place I could spend more than a few days at. Honestly, you can see the whole thing in a day or two and then probably be pretty bored. Also, I've never been but I don't think the beach is all that special there.   My suggestion would be to hit it on the way down. Spend a day or two and then move on to someplace with more to do.   What does your wife enjoy the most? Is she the type that likes to site on the beach all day or does she like shipping/attractions? I would recommend Siesta Key beach on the gulf side and then a visit to St. Armands Circle where they have shots and restaurants.
  4. You're one of those people!!! "Hey I have big secret but I can't tell you"..... ARGHHHHHH!
  5. At least they finally broke out the long guns. During the first day I never saw a single one. Hell, I think the poor cop that was gunned down in the street wasn't even armed.
  6.   That's a great point as well. Having an alarm has so many benefits. It may not be bulletproof but it certainly can't hurt.
  7. We'll be praying for you BG. Let us know if there is anything we can do.
  8. Thanks. Amazon has it for $69 which is a little more than I wanted to spend but that's about the cheapest I'm seeing it.
  9. So my scope came in yesterday but this isn't going to work with my current QD mounts. I can't reach the charging handle and I had to remove the rear back up site. On top of that the scope rocks back and forth on the rail. Can someone recommend a better mount for this Bushnell that won't break the bank?
  10.   I'd say they were right considering the owner is dead and they are alive.   Very sad. I've often thought that gun store employees and owners should take added precautions. I'd probably wear a vest if I worked at one. I'd also keep a long gun behind the counter that was readily accessible.   I sent this to the owner of my local store just now. He's alone at his store most of the time. Thanks for sharing.
  11.   Loudon county is not that remote. I lived there most of my life. I completely disagree with your assessment about an alarm. It's far more beneficial to have an alarm in a rural area. If someone breaks in and your alarm goes off chances are that they will leave right away. Worst case they will only stick around a few minutes and the LCSO will be there within 15 tops.    Right now you're running the risk of someone coming in and completely cleaning you out.
  12. Great video. Glad the guy had a change of heart but he still owes them an apology IMO.
  13.   Have you ever had a dog before? If not, I wouldn't recommend a Husky as your first pet. I've heard a lot of horror stories from Husky owners but I think that most of them are people that don't take a firm stance and let the dog walk all over them.   Let me describe our Husky.   smart stubborn incredibly affectionate. She will let you pet her all day if you want. She also nudge you non-stop until you pet her. It can be very annoying Horrible guard dog. I know one lady who's Husky defended their property as he should have. She was then sued by the POS. Most Huskies are bad guard dogs. Non stop year round shedding. No breed sheds more than the Husky. If you're not prepared to vacuum and sweep daily then don't get a Husky. Possessive over food. Aggressive towards some dogs. Impatient with children but not mean. Very well behaved. She doesn't chew or do anything in the house that she really shouldn't. She was also pretty easy to house break. That's all I can think of. She is a GREAT dog and I wouldn't trade her for anything but I probably wouldn't get another Husky because the shedding is out of control.
  14. Glad I could entertain fells. :)   I'm serious though. I trust my life to my Glocks but for purely range fun they are pretty boring. I'd much rather have a 1911 or something else.
  15. If only they could come out with a new helmet that doesn't mess up my hair.. Then I'll be set!
  16. Take some sand paper to those grips and it will make them noticeably less abrasive while still maintaining the grip. That's what I did with my Talon grips.
  17. What is your intended purpose for the gun? If you just want something fun on the range and don't intend to carry it then I would go with something like the CZ75. I like my Glocks but I don't get a hard on every time I go to the range.
  18. This is our 5 year old Husky(Chloe). She's a complete diva but a great dog. She rules the house. The shedding is out of control though. Next is our 15 month old mutt(Gunner). He's a good guard dog and listens really well. Chloe beats up on him constantly! She looks mean as hell but when it comes to humans shes a big baby. Terrible guard dog...
  19. guys I think we can all agree on that. My point was do you think you can react quick enough in the situation? I think my title for the thread is misleading.
  20.   I would just google it honestly. I know there are a lot of companies that do hog hunts down here. You could probably find one in North Florida so you wouldn't have to drive as far.   Sorry I can't be more help.
  21. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/48-hours-live-to-tell-sole-survivor/     After watching this horrible story it really has me question how hard it would be for someone to get inside my house. If we're being honest with ourselves it really isn't that difficult to kick in most doors. This man kicked in the door and started shooting the family members before they could even react.   On top of that, it's incredibly difficult to be woken up from a dead sleep and instantly react to a threat. At best you're going to need several seconds to process what's happening and arm yourself.    Last night I woke up to my dog barking loudly in my room. I instantly woke and reached for my gun but in my groggy state it was incredibly difficult to figure out what was happening. If someone was rushing in like this guy did, I highly doubt I would have been able to react quick enough. It turns out something fell in my pantry(good dog).    I guess the only point I'm trying to make is that being armed is a start but this story really has me thinking that it's a good idea to reinforce all doors.
  22. I just got an email saying my package is shipping out today. I ordered on the 26th I believe.
  23.   The way he walked up and executed that cop without much thought leads me to believe these guys probably fought in Syria or elsewhere. This ain't their first rodeo.   But again, that doesn't mean they were "trained". So I agree.
